how unthinkable is it that we could ever have a General like that today. And I dont mean that in a good way.
Times have changed and Halsey's sentiments, though perhaps appropriate in his day, would seem out of place in today's small, interdependent world. The lack of such talk from US generals today should not be misinterpreted as a sign of weakness, on the contrary.
