A camera maybe? and that bag he has draped over his back looks a little more technical than the average shitty "knapsack" or sleeping bag a homeless dude would be sporting.

that guy she is kissing is not just some anonymous homeless guy - he's actually pretty well known among the celebs in manhattan and is known as "radio man" because he carries a radio around with him. he goes to all the movie sets, premieres, and talk shows - i've seen him around a lot. actually if you caught jodie foster on david letterman, she mentions radio man. so hence, its not really some pr move by jessica but more like an acknowledgement i think...
