• I have two things to say:
  
  First, it is lame and incredibly despicable to lie about having directly donated to the hurricane victims. Yes, her family's trust DID contribute money (which is great in and of itself), but that money sure as hell didn't come out of her bank account, now did it?
  
  Second, this whole business of celebrities bragging about how much they helped and/or contributed to any sort of disaster relief just sickens me. They're just piggybacking the inevitable increased publicity in the name of altruism. A good deed is not truly altruistic if the person committing it is gaining some sort of personal satisfaction. If a celebrity really wanted to do something that was truly altruistic, they would anonymously donate and would donate because it's the right thing to do, not because it'll make people like them more. Russell Crowe may be a jackass, but at least when he donates money to a good cause, he leaves his name (and his fame, hey that rhymed) out of it. And I'm sure there are other celebrities out there who do the same thing, but I can't think of any more right now. I have a hard time remembering things since that time I got drunk and smacked my head on the coffee table right before passing out.
