I agree with the blog author on this one. I would shy away from trusting anything that would encourage a mother to be separate from their recently born child. the best way to "recover from the trauma" is to be soothed by the mother. attachment theory is a strong and well researched basis for that statement. there is nothing wrong with screaming at birth, the baby doesn't hear all that well in the amniotic sack, and it has no cultural reference at that point to know screaming is bad. besides, they do plenty of that by themselves-whether or not they heard it in the delivery room. All I can say is- Katie Holmes should run before her water breaks.
