My name is David Gingras, and I am the attorney quoted in this article. Everyone needs to be aware of a couple of things: 1.) this article is mostly from a piece that ran in the New York Post's Page Six today. I have been badly misquoted, and I have written to the reporter to clarify that we do NOT claim that Ms. Murphy has "fabricated" any false charges. Rather, this is simply what her ex-husband Jake Schroeder is saying. Neither I nor my client, ICG, have any conclusive information about who is telling the truth, but we do know that the charges against Mr. Schroeder are based on an audiotaped conversation. If that tape contradicts what Mr. Schroeder claims was said, then Ms. Murphy is absolutely right and he is absolutely wrong. This is something that will be resolved in court, and everyone needs to reserve their judgment until then.
2.) I have NEVER stated that Ms. Murphy's attorney, Marty Singer, was somehow involved in filing "sham" criminal charges. I simply said that if the charges against Mr. Schroeder are dismissed, we will investigate to determine if legal action will be taken against anyone who might have been involved. At this time, it does not appear that Mr. Singer was behind the filing of these charges, so he would not be responsible if Mr. Schroeder was falsely arrested.
