It's common knowledge, if you act like it never even happened then it looks like you're in denial. If she said "no comment" some reporter would be all over it,trying to make it seems like she's still not over it and doesn't want to talk about. And if she had her publicists tell them that they would terminate the interview, you know people would jump on that, there'd be shit in the tabloids about how she's 'still so fragile' and 'can't handle all of it.' She didn't mention their names, she said she's moving on, why can't we? She's going to be painted however they want to paint her until this story is sucked dry.

Eventually the story died and everyone moved on. Why can't Aniston take that route?
