I'm sure the reason they don't retaliate is because the second they see a celebrity coming at them they think, "jackpot!" My thoughts exactly. Isn't self defense still a valid argument? Campbell's lawyer is saying this is retaliation and that Campbell had fired the maid earlier that morning. I find that highly unlikely given the fact that this crackhead has been cited three times previously for assault.
Then again, any attempt by a victim to defend his or herself in an altercation is highly scrutinized in a civil lawsuit. All it takes is one very adept defense lawyer to turn a blocked punch into an attempted push by the claimant. The next thing you know they can have everyone believing it was the claimant that started it all.
This maid did the right thing. Whenever you're assaulted by someone very rich and famous (in this case not so much at the moment, she doesn't have a movie coming out, does she?) don't try to defend yourself. Run to the nearest medical center to document your injuries and call your lawyer. You get more money in a settlement that way. Keep that in mind, folks.
Then when you have the money from the settlement, hire someone to jump her skanky ass.
