The allegations are, unfortunately, not implausible given Mr. Sheen's history.

In fact, it's pure genius from a legal standpoint. What's the best way to destroy the credibility of a public figure? Hire an out-of-work screen writer and file something juicy in court. Look at what happened to Matthew McConaghey. Yeah, the woman who accused him of all that crap was probably a complete whackjob but it still got her some attention, right?

okay vigilante, I am an attorney. This is TOTALLY and 100% typical of what you see in child custody proceedings.
Child custody battles are ugly ugly ugly. People don't realize this until they are in the middle of one. Sometimes parties can work it out but when they can't, it's all about the mudslinging. This is why you should not reproduce with scum because this is what you have to endure in the years to come. (Britney...take note).
In addition, it's not just so she can get custody. It's so she can get a restraining order and supervised visitation. Denise had to prove (1) she was in danger and (2) charlie cannot or should not be alone with the kids because he's a danger to them. That's why it's so dramatic; she had a high hurdle to overcome.
Wow, I just read the declaration on TSG. While reading it, the imrpession that I got was that it was a he said/she said deal. That she was making herself look good while doing everything she could to make him look as bad as possible. It is very easy to claim that you simply wanted to "talk" about problems and leave out the nasty things you said leading up to the "he said" part. That said I still beleive all the basic facts, that he gambles, does drugs, veiws a lot of porn, hires a lot of hookers and got very angry when he realized that her actions may hurt his career. Everything has to be written down, you know, like in writing to be filed with the court. You can't just take tapes up to the courthouse and ask they be put in your file and make the judge listen to them. It has to be typed up.

I'm always wary of allegations like this but Charlie's history of substance abuse makes him the suspicious one in my book.

Not to be too much of a lawyer here but the complaint to the court is a sworn document, she could be charged with perjury and sent off to jail if she's found to have lied. Not to mention that he'd have a pretty good defamation suit given that he makes his living based at least partly on his public persona. Her lawyer is obligated to tell her this. The allegations are, unfortunately, not implausible given Mr. Sheen's history.

Hey, I for one am not defending Sheen. I think the guy's completely fubar. However, given the fact that I have some legal knowledge, I think Ms. Richards' 17 page declaration is a bit on the melodramatic side for a public document.
In fact, it's pure genius from a legal standpoint. What's the best way to destroy the credibility of a public figure? Hire an out-of-work screen writer and file something juicy in court. Look at what happened to Matthew McConaghey. Yeah, the woman who accused him of all that crap was probably a complete whackjob but it still got her some attention, right?
Now I'm not saying she's lying and I'm not saying she's telling the truth, but if you read over what she's accusing Sheen of saying you'll notice a lot of "I took it to mean"-ses. You'll also see several "I thought"-s and "I noticed"-ses Which does a good job of covering her skinny white ass against a defamation suit. If challenged in court she could always say "Well, that's how I perceived it, your honor". How she perceived it doesn't legally make it how it was.
See where I'm coming from? Nothing this melodramatic is just a coincidence in the legal world. When it's widely known in legal channels that a declaration like this is going to be made into a public document then you have to wonder if half of what is written out is just retaliation.

okay vigilante, I am an attorney. This is TOTALLY and 100% typical of what you see in child custody proceedings.
Child custody battles are ugly ugly ugly. People don't realize this until they are in the middle of one. Sometimes parties can work it out but when they can't, it's all about the mudslinging. This is why you should not reproduce with scum because this is what you have to endure in the years to come. (Britney...take note).
In addition, it's not just so she can get custody. It's so she can get a restraining order and supervised visitation. Denise had to prove (1) she was in danger and (2) charlie cannot or should not be alone with the kids because he's a danger to them. That's why it's so dramatic; she had a high hurdle to overcome.

Wow, I just read the declaration on TSG. While reading it, the imrpession that I got was that it was a he said/she said deal. That she was making herself look good while doing everything she could to make him look as bad as possible. It is very easy to claim that you simply wanted to "talk" about problems and leave out the nasty things you said leading up to the "he said" part. That said I still beleive all the basic facts, that he gambles, does drugs, veiws a lot of porn, hires a lot of hookers and got very angry when he realized that her actions may hurt his career.
I think (and the paparazzi has strived to prove) that many many stars think they are invincible and can behave anyway they chose.
That said, I think she could have said what she needed to say without dragging him through 17 pages of mud, with three exhibits.
I filled out one of those nifty papers too. Mine was a page long, with a few examples of why I felt that I deserved a divorce due to cruel and unusual punishment. I got it with the single page, hands down.

I'm sitting here thinking, "WTF??" in regards to the many people here who believe it MUST be a smear campaign. Hopefully, it means you haven't dealt with someone who does rotten things, but these types of men are out there.
Women who have low self esteem (yes, even celebs), and don't realize they deserve better, marry guys like this EVERY DAY. Often time, the women were brought up in disfunctional, mentally or physically abusive homes. They go on to perpetuate the cycle with someone else, until someone helps them, or they realize themselves that they are continuing the cycle. Many women don't know HOW to raise their self-esteem, and some don't even realize they need to.
I know, I was one of them once. Not anymore. I got help. I went through many guys like Charlie (if he did it, and I'm inclined to believe it, based on his past).
People sit around on high horses saying things like, "I just don't understand". But they are missing the fact that these women (& even some males), often don't know what it's like to be in a healthy relationship. You don't understand what they're doing, and they don't understand your HEALTHY life. They haven't been in a healthy relationship even in childhood.
As for Charlie - if the allegations are true, I have to wonder what type of childhood HE had, to be this moronic.
Oh, and nothing said he was looking specifically at child porn. But I dated a guy once who was into the "young and teeny (also teenies)" & "Young & pink" porn sites. The girls are supposedly of age, but barely. Girls are specifically chosen who look underage, and then dressed in clothes (or hairstyles) that purposely make them look underage. All I'm saying is if she went as far to get transcripts of telephone messages, why not just have actual recordings with their voices? What did she do? Write down everything that was said over the phone? But I guess transcripts and allegations alone are good enough to file a restraining order and have supervision when visiting the children. I'm not saying whether or not the guy is guilty of all of these things I'm just wondering what kind of evidence was presented. Most of these allegations are serious enough to call the cops on. Even if she feared for her safety not to call the cops on him. By calling the cops on him and filling formal criminal charges, that would have given her time to get out and go somewhere safe with her kids and she could have had a restraining order on him then once he's on bail.

Everything has to be written down, you know, like in writing to be filed with the court. You can't just take tapes up to the courthouse and ask they be put in your file and make the judge listen to them. It has to be typed up.
I am quite certain if she has transcripts of phone messages (which have you read those...he's a crazy M'er f'er) and phone conversations....she has them recorded.

You men can blame looking on "biology" all you want. What I find funny is how many males I've known who are in denial about the fact that you make many of those young girls nauseous.
Starting at the age of 13, I had men in their late 20s & many a 30 year old flirting & saying sexually suggestive things to me. They made me sick. They assumed I would open to it, and I wanted to laugh in their idiotic faces. At times, I did.
