I read the whole article and honestly I do feel bad for her that she went through all that. Being beautiful has it's problems too, most noteably: unwanted attention and people making assumptions about your character.

Ugly people NEVER want to hear that someone pretty isn't happy with the attention they receive. I can understand that but ugly people need to realize there is a pro and con to everything. In this case before she was making money in Hollywood her looks just got her come-ons (and probably some butt pinching) from sleezes, that would agitate me too.

Evangeline needs to shut the fuck up. When I was a teenager I was pretty overweight, but lost about 40lbs when I started college. Believe me, I would choose being ogled (as annoying as it is) instead of being made fun of any day of the week. And I totally agree with whoever said that she's not even that good looking.

At first I thought I was gonna puke after reading this post, but after a little reflection I think I can understand where she's coming from. I would say my face is definitely above average but I'm no beauty queen. For me it was going from completely flat to size D tits on a 105 lb., 5'3' body at age 11. I cannot begin to express the negative effect it has had on my life, to be sexualized and ogled at such an early age and all through my teens till my mid twenties. Then I got married and got fat and popped out a kid and got a bit fatter and guess what? No one ogles me anymore! Except my hubby and guys who like chubbies (not a lot out there.) And to be completely honest, I feel physically safer than I ever did when I was younger. It actually keeps me from wanting to really try to lose the weight, it was so disgusting feeling and knowing you were being stared at and mentally undressed by skeezy-ass men. So I actually do feel for her, but if she really didn't want to be treated that way, she could do what I did and pack it on!

This reminds me of a girl I knew in junior high - gorgeous; looked like Snow White - who used to wish aloud that she had zits. She said it would make her face more interesting. All of us pimplies were unimpressed. I don't know where she is now. She'll probably turn up in a pilot for some new show "from the producers of Lost" or something.

know what? I'm very attractive. fyi, the "dirty and sleazy" men are usually the ones who go for anything. example, I was wearing cowgirl boots and a skirt at 7-11. I heard some men talking, but wasnt sure it was about me until I heard them say "yeehaw cowgirl. ride it" I didnt take an axe to my face. I didnt feel "dirty". I didnt cry myself to sleep that night and ask God to make me too fat to ever where cowgirl boots again. I rolled my eyes, paid for my gas and walked out of the store. but Im probably not pretty or attractive enough to have an over emotional, intense reaction to people looking at me for half a second.

I have a friend in a similar situation right now who is sick to death about guys making stupid comments about her and she turned round to me last month and said how she wished she was ugly so they wouldn't say anything. This girl has serious self esteem issues, has hated herself most of her life, was bullied and self harmed due to this, so what are you going to call her an ungrateful bitch because some male chauvenists who think they have the right to say things to her when they quite frankly do not and she's getting pissed off with it? No you are not because you don't know her, you don't know the full situation.

Sarah Caplan saw something in her while watching that audition tape and she liked it, they all fought bloody hard to get her on that show & they got her. & No it isn't just because she's pretty it's because she's a good actress.

Usually when a woman wants to be respected for more than just her looks, she DOES SOMETHING ABOUT IT. As in goes to school, gets a respectful job, etc.
Although I do think there is a positive message to be learned from this. Young girls should know that being pretty WON'T solve all your problems. I was always pretty average looking through school... had a fair share of boyfriends, but was never of that "cheerleader" caliber. Back then, I think I wished I could be "beautiful" like them. Now that I'm 24, I'm glad that I looked the way I looked. People judged me for me, and I didn't have any fake-o "I only want to be your friend because you're popular" friends. At first I thought I was gonna puke after reading this post, but after a little reflection I think I can understand where she's coming from. I would say my face is definitely above average but I'm no beauty queen. For me it was going from completely flat to size D tits on a 105 lb., 5'3' body at age 11. I cannot begin to express the negative effect it has had on my life, to be sexualized and ogled at such an early age and all through my teens till my mid twenties. Then I got married and got fat and popped out a kid and got a bit fatter and guess what? No one ogles me anymore! Except my hubby and guys who like chubbies (not a lot out there.) This woman here is someone people should be proud of, she IS a rolemodel for young girls, she has made something of herself, been through so much and worked so hard & finally it has paid off, I'm sorry but I would rather aspire to be like Evangline Lilly and achieve what she has and be as good person as her compared to somebody like Paris Hilton or reality show tramps who HAVE had it all handed to them on a plate.
She is exquisitely beautiful, breathtakingly so in a less obvious way than somebody, again, say Paris Hilton who is pretty pretty. She is probably the most attractive female in any show at the moment, she doesn't need to wear tonnes of make up, skimpy outfits to be beautiful, because she is & it's so natural and refreshing, This woman does not deserve comments like those you've been giving, however to be honest I don't actually think she will care, I mean hello; Major part on a huuuuge tv show, Nice big paycheck, gorgeous boyfriend, fabulous place to live, friends, family, respect of so many people.
Hey I'd pretty much say she was perfect. :)

Well I'd just like to agree with absolutly everything Sienna Peaches Lucia said, Evangeline is an amazing, lovely, geuine woman. And If I were in her shoes, I wouldn't like the attention all the time.
People are intitled to have their privacy which I'm sure is really difficult for her being as famous as she is

Wow. Boo hoo. The opposite sex is attracted to me. Umm I think that is the way we are wired be your perspective from one of religion or science. Ever notice that guys don't whine when we check them out? Neither do girls that don't have self esteem issues. I don't need people thinking I am smart, either I am or not with opinion having little to do with anything. I had large breasts at an early age and had no problem with men finding me attractive. Yes, I said men not boy because I didn't look 14 so why should I care if they were "old enough to be my dad?" I looked better then than I do now, as 16-20 is our golden years girls face it we spend the rest of our lives spending money trying to look like we did then..or deal with not looking as good. Men being attracted to us at that age isn't a suprise its hard wired in their tiny brains. For the guy that said she would loose her looks in 15 years.. your sweet honey but look at the cellulite on her legs in the "frilly post" do you think she had that at 17? Tyra Banks and a few other celebs have been honest enough to talk about the changes the 20s do to a woman's body and no they aren't good ones....Anyway.. Years later my breast aren't as perky as they used to be and I still appreciate a guy checking me out whether he is cute or not. Its pretty simple to tell who likes you for looks or not..which is sad that she whined about it. Does a guy help you study?..talk to you?...all on the phone? Well if you aren't having sex, and he can't see you and lsiten then asks you intelligent questions about who you are or where you going in life..and has an intelligent response that you can tell he is listening..thats your keeper.

Hey, give Evangeline a break! It's tough going from a girl who likes being a tomboy and playing any sports she wants and not thinking about how she looks to being a pretty teenager who gets all kinds of sexist comments, like the ones I just read on this website!
She's still the same inside, but she's treated like a sex object because of how she looks on the outside. She didn't say she wants to be ugly now, because she's learned to deal with the changes she went through when she was younger. She just said how much she hated not knowing how to deal with her body looking so different and how it felt like it changed her whole life.
Give her a break and try to understand how it feels to go through those awkward years as a teen.

OMG i totally agree wid u evangeline i av da exact same problem. I'm 14 years old n i jst quit my job as a waitress coz of how men treat me. Argh! I no its stupid but it kinda scares me. N i fink 2 myself, if they new how old i was. Its disgusting. I told my mum i quit coz i didnt like it bt dats a lie. If i told her shed propley just laugh at me. :(
