lame, boring movie. Overhyped. zzzzz
By chuggdog, on 9:10 AM
I totally agree... Years from now, people won't even remember this crap. Seriously, when was the last time you saw "The Last Temptation of Christ" on ANY channel?
I rest my case.

*In a Marlon Brando voice*
The horror....the horror!
Speaking of course, of Tom Hanks' hair.
Oh, and LOVE the comment about the critics...so true.

"You Probably Saw The Da Vinci Code"
O RLY?

Reverse psychology, eh? Let's see if it works..
Hey Everyone!! I'm announcing a boycott of Just My Luck!
You're welcome, Lindsay..
By Anonymous, on 11:20 AM
Why don't we boycott films with lousy actors, like Tom Cruise and Lindsay Lohan? I just didn't want to see The Da Vinci Code because I think the whole thing is so overhyped...case in point...

so true about film critics
By Anonymous, on 12:06 PM
I find it amusing that no one seems to have an opinion of there own about this movie. Every critic's review has been nothing but about how long it was and Tom's hair. If his hair is the only thing you can come up with to make fun of then you guys really are pathetic. The only other critizism I heard was his performance was bland...not bad, just bland. Whatever the F*** that means.

My feelings are telling me that a big opening weekend doesn't always mean big success in the long run. Like the Paul D...ian guy said You had a built-in audience from the book.
Once word of mouth spreads on how (apparently) shitty it is, it should tank fast.
By a o scott, on 1:07 PM
The Catholic Church didn't levy a boycott. They had no official word on the film whatsoever. It was a few misguided Catholic groups that called for a boycott. I'm Catholic and the only thing keeping me from the DaVinci Code is the fact that I found the book plodding, silly, and implausible (Opus Dei has no monks involved, it is primarily a lay order with a few priest "advisors", monks belong to monastic orders, of which Opus Dei is not - so the whole Silas thing. Pffft) and because I find Tom Hanks to be a little full of himself (how soon we forget prancing about in women's clothing on a sitcom) and I hate his hair.
By Rowan, on 1:45 PM
Tom Hanks' hair is enough to tell me this movie sucks. If they can't do better than that on something so basic and fundamental as the hair, their judgement about the whole movie must be way off.

You're god damn right, Todd. With all the hype for M:I:3, i have absolutely no desire to see it, yet i may well go and see a movie which hasn't been hyped to breaking point.
By sam991, on 2:43 PM
Really pathetic folks....if youre gonna cause a controversy, you gotta go after the psychopathic towelheads to get your free publicity.
Or at least have the guts to go after the other group who made life miserable for those who dont believe in the 'chosen people' bullshit or any of the creationism crap which THEY are responsible.
Of course, its always safer to play tough when the group you are making fun of will not sue your ass or flambed it.
By Anonymous, on 3:01 PM
Agreed 3:01, well, sort of anyway. Why doesn't Hollywood make a movie about good ol' Mohammad and say that he was gay and had 7 lovers. Oh wait, that's the truth, nevermind.

For someone who's so into coming off smart in that sentence, maybe you should be looking up the term "fiction". I mean, my beef with Harry Potter is that Wizards wouldn't need glasses... it's just not plausible.

Bitch.

"Because if the critics had their way, we'd all be standing in line to watch black and white films where people talk about their feelings for three hours then take turns wiping their ass with the flag"
oh my gosh! i think i love you.

History is a collection of lies agreed upon.
Jesus was just a man, the Bible is a work of fiction written by men, Mohammed was a polygamist pedophile, Jews and Christians believe that Moses parted the Red Sea and talked to a burning bush, and Moses built a ship that held two of every creature to survive world-wide floods, ...
Back to the topic. Opus Dei is a cult, the Pope is just a man, Tom Hanks can't act, and ... Santa Claus is a fraud annually perpetuated on children the world over.

Is it just me or does Tom hank look like a bloated rotting hog carcass?

christianity sucks
the da vinci code sucks
99% of movies coming out now suck
case closed.
By Anonymous, on 11:58 PM
did u people even see the movie..
this movie was worth my money. bring some uptight christian with you.
By Anonymous, on 1:55 AM
ok, it's fiction but the book in itself is at least a bit offending while throwing shit for free to the Catholic Church, which nowadays is an easy target.
As per the movie I did not see it and will not.
BTW, the problem with this kind of fiction (either books or movies), when it involves such matters, is that it is the only thing that some people read and then they actually believe it. so the damage is done.
By martin, on 3:10 AM
Haha Anon 3:40!
Wizards shouldn't need glasses, so true, so true.
Da Vinci is FICTION...meaning, not real. Wow..amazing isn't it and there are some people who actually liked it. Found it entertaining.
Not me though, have not seen it.

Even the best fiction requires research. Dan Brown didn't do much, it would seem.
By Laurel., on 9:06 AM
It's not fiction!
By Anonymous, on 9:59 AM
had to go on opening weekend to support the fact that despite what the churchies say, we're not buying their fairytales anymore. How dare they complain that the historical facts presented by Dan Brown are any more fictional than the boloney they preach every weekend?

Since people are stupid* (*in general, according to the media, elders, religious freaks, etc.), reverse psychology will surely work! Good idea mate! But you know what? Reviews don't mean anything to anybody!!! At least to normal movie lovers. For example, if you love Tom Hanks, and would go see essentially anything the guy was in, would you care if the movie got a thumbs down? Probably not! I mean come on, talking realistically, people who judge things based on others' judgements are retarded. Go see (or download) the movie, you won't be sorry. Ignoring all the media and nut-groups opinions, it's just another nice thriller type deal that happens to concern this dude considered so sacred that they would probably bitch if anyone ever claimed the guy sneezed back then. hahaha!
By Anonymous, on 12:14 PM
Well to me it's quite obvious why that looneytunes group called a church is sooooooo upset over a movie such as this. Noting their past (at one time they were the power-hungry "state"; they used to lock up guys who proved facts we could see; etc.), they are probably worried SICK because of the PRIEST MOLESTATION COVERS-UPS! I think they believe that since they were caught in that massive evil coverup, then people would also believe they covered up something like the movie suggests. LOL Why don't they just come out and say it, that's why they hate the movie so much.
By Anonymous, on 12:21 PM
12:21... dude! dude! chillax... its kinda sick to tie shit like child molestation to this movie man.
C'mon now, if your genius wants to go ahead preachin' (no pun intended) about your discovery of a grand evil coverup, write a book, not a blog.
