Here's Another Piece of Casino Royale
You've seen the French version, but here now is the English version of the leaked theatrical trailer for Casino Royale. The footage, based on the first novel in which Bond is a 27-year old new recruit having just received his 00 status looks pretty damn good. The movie has been criticized by fans and Hollywood alike because of its highly publicized casting mishaps and problems with actor Daniel Craig, but all I know is that in the span of a minute, Bond kicks two dude's asses and bangs two different women. I really don't understand this because he's only a 007. I walk into the Sigma Kappa house in my trenchcoat and tell them I'm a 0069, and all of a sudden everybody gets all nervous.
Thanks again to Steve for the heads up!

Is the Bond girl in picture #1 supposed to be pretty? If so, I missing something. Trannys are never hot.

"From what I understand, 00's have a short life expectancy"
From what I can tell, Daniel Craig as "Bond" has a really short life expectancy--as in one movie.

that first broad is stunningly unattractive.

How funny would it be if in that last scence with Bond at the poker table, he would say "All In"
By Anonymous, on 12:18 PM
"all in"
that's super-funny. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I don't get it.

Hasn't this film already been made?

Dang, I thought 007 was supposed to be good-looking. Now all those fugly looking guys will be telling the ladies they are double-naught spies, too. At least I've got my 8-inch stub-nose still...

I beleive the 1967 Casino Royale was a parody movie

Daniel Craig is soooo HOT and a damn fine actor (not that most Americans would recognize a good actor). I am completely serious. He reminds me of Steve MQ Queen, I can't wait to see this Bond.

I don't see how most of you people find this guy ugly. He's incredibly sexy. You guys are just a bunch of hatters who don't even look half as good.
By Anonymous, on 3:44 PM
yes, we're a bunch of hatters.
good one.

I'm the Mad Hatter. Would you like some tea?

Too bad then that it's us Americans who decide who does and who doesn't make it as an actor. It comes with being the richest and most powerful country in the world, by far.
By American, on 4:07 PM
looks like a want-to-be
Transporter, he doesnt even have a suave look to him, way to ruff, thats not a "bond". we'll see with the final box office total.
By thekujo, on 5:56 PM
i like him. i still wish brosnan was bond though. and i agree, he does resemble steve mcqueen in some way.

Give me the original Sean Connery 007 movies. A bald guy in a toupee and dinner jacket, surrounded by Sears catalogue models, now that's style. Yeah baby!

The first girl is the same chick who was in Kingdom Heaven with Orlando Bloom. She's kind of exotically beautiful.
And to the idiot that said "we Americans blah blah blah"....shut the fuck up. We don't need your help in making us look any more fucking retarded.

Comparing Daniel Craig to Steve McQueen is like comparing Eric Roberts to George Clooney.

This had to be done: No one cared about Bond anymore.
It was a series of tired gags and cliches which lost all relevance to the earlier films when the producers started going for the Vin Diesel XXX look. THe last few Bonds had the same feel as most other action movies. It was just another movie franchise sucking it down to the marrow.
Good or bad, people will go see this one and ask your friends .
is he good looking? No. But then again, he is playing a trained killer, so who cares.
Good actor? Yes.
Body? Looks like a decathlete compared to Brosnan who had the physique of the redheaded kid on the 70s Show.
>he doesnt even have a suave look to him, way to ruff, thats not a "bond".
Do you people even know how to read?
Its a PREQUEL...before he becomes a double 0 or the suave hitman he later became.
Do you know when this story takes place in the Bond storyline?
As for Eva Green. I watched Dreamers recently and top notch spankable material. Not stunning looking but nice eyes and great bod.
I hope this Bond has some full frontal from her....shes that good.
From what I saw of the trailer, it seems to have less stunts taht defy all laws of physics than the previous ones and more hand to hand action. After seeing Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan fight, I truly hope this guy can actually make it look like he is a good fighter.
And considering that most people havent seen anything more htan the trailer, I find it hilarious that people are so adamant this will be a bad film based on third hand rumors and unimportant details like can he or cant he drive stick? (answer: who cares. I dont think he can fly a plane either but thats the great thing about acting: it dont matter.) Did he get his caps knocked out during a stunt? How is this relevant to the movie? Has anyone ever worked on a movie set? Ever see fight scenes being choreographed? Everyone gets smacked in the face, even the top stuntmen, its all part of the risks of doing such moves but has NOTHING to do with acting.
Ill be the first one to blast it if it sucks Xenu's balls but since the franchise was running out of stories and working its way into Star Trek movie irrelevance, I'm willing to try anything

As George Costanza said, "I say this with an unblemished record of staunch heterosexuality...it's fabulous!"
I had reservations about Daniel Craig when I first saw pictures of him. He is not the same dark-haired Bond we've come to know and love. However, after seeing some of the trailers, I gotta say that I've changed my mind. I think this movie is going to do for Bond what Batman Begins did for the Batman franchise. Make it more realistic, darker, and grittier. Get away from the comic-book gadgets and stunts and get back to some nice, old-fashioned fight scenes and action.
My only problem with this is Judi Dench. If this is a prequel, and this deals with Bond becoming a double-0, then why is Judi Dench playing M? M was played by Bernard Lee in the original Bond movies. Obviously, since Mr. Lee is dead, he can't reprise his role, but shouldn't M still be played by a guy? Judi Dench didn't take up the role of M until later on in Bond's career. I realize people are supposed to suspend reality when they go see a movie, but a little continuity would have been appreciated.

It's true that most people in the world, especially in Europe, think that all Americans are very fat, retarded, uneducated, badly dressed, constantly watching stupid TV shows and munching on chips. Go to Europe and you'll see. I know that it's not true because I've met very nice, cute, intelligent Americans.(I've also met fat, retarded, etc). But there's one thing that really annoys me - most Americans really think that they are the best, God blessed nation. I've hardly met an American who speaks even one foreign language. They are like, "What's for? Everybody everywhere speaks English!" And it's true (almost) - me too, I've learned English (but not only English). My point is: don't be so self-centered. Your arrogance makes you so narrow-minded. There's so much interesting in the world, and not only of American origin. Broaden your mind, guys.
And don't say "WTF are you doing on this site, f**** foreigner!" That will make you look a bit...retarded :) What am I doing on this site? Reading, you know. It's interesting. And funny.

I'll start with saying I'm a proud and intelligent American.
Okay, the purpose of my post:
1)Daniel Craig has an amazing body.
2)He's a good actor, not brilliant, just good. Bond actors don't have to be great.
3) He's too old for this role.
4) He has a strange, distorted face. I don't find his face attractive at all.

God, this always makes me laugh. Try to get through your supposedly intelligent, well-travelled and open minded head:
I do not care what Europeans or any other nation thinks of America.
Get it?
About Americans thinking they're the best: every damn nation thinks it's the best. It's known as having natural pride in one's own country. The US hardly has a monopoly on that. If anything we're far less ragingly nationalistic than most.
The US hardly has a monopoly on dumb people either. I have met dumb and stupid in every country I've been to; and I've been to many.
No. What bothers me is people - Americans and foreigners alike - expecting that I should somehow be ashamed of my country. That because it is the richest and most powerful, and that it chooses to exercise that power when it sees fit (not a crime) that I should apologize for it; that there is something wrong with this. The fact is, there isn't. It is just a fact of history. A circumstance. A truth. It's like asking me to apologize for being born male.
In my opinion it's all bullshit. The foreigners who say we should be less arrogant or self-centered (we're not) in reality just want me to be ashamed of the US. And they do so for one very simple and childish reason: they are jealous. That's all.
Americans who want me to be ashamed do so because they are self-hating and disturbed. One can disagree with the policies of one's government without hating one's country. I see many Americans who cross the line from one to the other and, frankly, it's bizarre.
Sorry. But you will not get any satisfaction out of me. You'll have to find a desperate, approval-seeking liberal to come and kiss your ass and tell you how great you are and how much the US sucks if you want to feel better. Not me.
P.S. Don't try to second guess what I will write in response. It just makes you look retarded, actually.

I hate Michael Moore, I hate Al Franken, and I hate Madonna. That being said, I also hate the Wal-Mart shopping, Get-er done-ing, loudmouthed red state retards that probably think Iraq is going a-okay. I'm an American too, just a smarter version of the guy above me.

american
Thanks. I enjoyed your post.
Yes. I get it.
In the previous four sentences I addressed you personally. In my previous post - I didn't.
Just one thing. There are some people in the world that are not actually dreaming of winning the Green Card Lottery, that are not self-hating and disturbed because of not being born American. It's great (and natural) to be proud of your country and think that it's the best, but it's also great and quite helpful to realize that it's the best for YOU and not objectively the best for everyone. And there are some other factors apart from wealth/power.
The whole Europe is my country, and I love it in its diversity, and can't get enough of it. I am able to realize that Americans enjoy their country just the same way. OK. But they shove it in the face of the whole world. It's a FACT. On the political level, on the cultural level, on whatever level.
Your post reveals that you ARE self-centered: you're calling people with a different opinion just jealous, which is, by the way, childish.
I don't deny that America is a great and powerful country, and its cultural heritage is very impressive (I don't mean 21st century Holywood). I don't like the attitude that most Americans demonstrate.
Don't bother to answer - I don't nurture the hope to make an American apologize for being American - and this is the way you understand my point. Just let me get on my knees and humbly apologize for insulting you. I confess that for 23 years of age I've been suffering from being a self-hating European female. I'm so damn JEALOUS. Now let me withdraw.
It was grand to have a conversation.
