Some people don't want to get married, that doesn't make them gay. Who would really want to participate is a tradition that represents almost perfectly the oppression of women? ex: The veil is a throw back to the burlap bag that used to be put over young girls heads as they were being forced to marry someone by their families, the sack was only removed after the wedding, just like the veil. And two: the idea that someone would be gay because of traumatic past experiences is ludicrous. Suggesting that it does only perpetuates the idea that people are only gay because they were sexually assaulted, as well as condoning yet another damaging stereotype that sexually assaulted people have to contend with.

(Imagine the opposite: a movie nowadays with white actors in blackface portraying negative stereotypes of blacks. Studio heads would roll before filming even began.)
