I've read the swaying is one of the side effects of the medication, and that if Michael J. Fox didn't take his meds, it would be very difficult for him to talk. Limbaugh doesn't have experience with the often horrible side effects of meds for serious illnesses, because the main side effects of Oxy abuse are constipation and diarrhea of the mouth. Also, since Old Blubber Ass got out of Vietnam because of his anal cyst, he just assumes everybody exaggerates their ailments.
I am one of the many that believe that Rush Limbaugh and all of his followers... should be destroyed. It is incredibly how an ignorant such as Mr. Limbaugh can have so many followers. Well, then again, over half of Americans voted for Bush.
Gee, because KERRY was such a better choice wasn't he?? Why have a president that even his own party doesn't want him! Who the hell were we supposed to vote for!
Limbaugh said that because in MJF's book he admitted to not taking his meds for the sake of his symptoms appearing more prolific when he appeared before congress. Anyway, as insensitive as the statement was, MJF shouldn't have made that commercial - its political mudslinging and he misrepresented the opposing candidate's political stand. A cheap shot.
Now, now. You really don't want to see poor Mr. Limbaugh murdered. You'd all rather see him accidentally poisoned. Or hear that he suddenly fell off a balcony, right? Never murdered. That would be awful.
Not one to typically defend Rush Limbaugh, but the quote was taken out of context. I heard the whole clip where Rush was quoting from Michael J Fox that he didn't take his medication prior to testifying before Congress, so his symptoms would be very apparent. Rush actually said he doubts Fox was acting, but that he was being used by the Democratic Party. The media has really distorted this whole story.
You are a digusting pig of a human being. I didn't think I could possibly hate you any more than I already do, and then you go spewing ignorant accusations at an extremely ill man who was brave enough to go on national television to help others with his condition. As the daughter of someone with Parkinsons, I can only say I hope you rot in hell, you pill-popping moron of the highest order.
Uhh, Fox admits in his autobiography that he went off his meds to increase his "symptoms" when he testified before congress. Why can't someone claim it is likely that he did the same here? Particularly, when Fox has made many appearances of late and never has never exhibited symptoms even remotely like the ones displayed in the ad? Why is the belief that he was exagerating his symptoms so far fetched? And, most of what Fox said in the ad is untrue. A) stem-cell research is not banned or criminalized b) the federal gov't does fund stem cell research, just not embryonic stem-cell research c) the only promising results from stem-cell research is in the area of adult stem-cell research, not embryo stem cell research d) there is currently no "promise" of any cure from this research. I'm not sure if Fox is lying about being an american citizen or not, I know he was a canadian citizen, but maybe he became naturalized, but somehow, I doubt it.
So, the real asses here, are the politicians using this pack of lies to trick people into voting for them with a claim for cures that aren't coming. Kinda like when Edwards promised that Christopher Reeves would walk again if Kerry was elected president.
Wow, that shows him who is boss. Some questions.
What bravery does it take a celeberty to go on national tv? When someone has an illness, does that mean they can say anything about anyone, and nobody can say anything about them?
You claim Limbaugh is ignorant. Do you know that Fox admitted to going off his meds in order to exagerate his symptoms when he testified before congress? Does knowing that information make you realize that questioning whether Fox did the same thing here or else purposefully exaggerated his symptoms now make sense to you? Or, are you unwilling to have reasoned debate?
Do you believe that stem-cell research has been banned? Or criminalized? What makes you believe this?
Would it suprise you to learn that stem-cell research is perfectly legal, has not been banned in ANY way, and is ongoing? If this does not surprise you, what do you think about the truthfulness of Fox's ad? Doesn't it seem to be filled with lies and smears? Or, if doing that kind of thing ok when done for the "right" political party?
so he goes off his meds? so what? what on earth is your point? off meds, you see Parkinson's Disease exactly as it is. you don't see fake symptoms or a fake disease (like fatass's pill-popping "addiction", what a fucking pussy), you see the real thing. the goal is to cure it, that's what the stem-cell research is about and why it needs to be funded. i know rush and his followers are retards, but this deserves some sort of prize.
Rush’s statements aside; the thing I hate about the Hollywood types is they don't care about an ailment until one of them gets it. Chris Reeve could probably give a shit about spinal injured people until he became one. Same with MJF and Parkinson’s. I'm sure Paris Hilton will become an outspoken advocate against HIV any time now.
Kinda like when Edwards promised that Christopher Reeves would walk again if Kerry was elected president
does "from the standpoint of the Iraqi people, my belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators" ring a bell? i'd take edwards' lies over cheney's any day. at least we'd have a president who could spell "stem"
Great banana: He has NOT said he went off his meds for that commercial. And even if he did, that IS brave. Letting the country see your disease-ravaged body in a very exposed way is courageous and deserves our respect. I don't take a bunch of sinus pills before I go to the doctor because I need him to see my symptoms for what they are, so why should he take a bunch of meds before addressing the need for better treatment for Parkinsons? I applaud him. I am certainly not unwilling to have a reasoned debate if you'll show me one. If you think his ad is full of lies and smears, perhaps you should spend a day in his shoes and decide what kind of treatments you want available to YOU.
"Anyone who knows the disease well would regard his movement as classic severe Parkinson's disease," said Elaine Richman, a neuroscientist in Baltimore who co-wrote Parkinson's Disease and the Family. "Any other interpretation is misinformed."
but i'm sure you Rush-blumpkinners are much more qualified on the topic
so he goes off his meds? so what? what on earth is your point? off meds, you see Parkinson's Disease exactly as it is. you don't see fake symptoms or a fake disease (like fatass's pill-popping "addiction", what a fucking pussy), you see the real thing. the goal is to cure it, that's what the stem-cell research is about and why it needs to be funded. i know rush and his followers are retards, but this deserves some sort of prize.
Who exactly is the retard here? Fine, so what he went off his meds? There is no so what. So what about pointing that out? What's so wrong with pointing out that he either purposefully went off his meds to film this commercial and/or is exagerrating his symptoms? How, exactly, is that so wrong or evil? Moreover, what is wrong with pointing out the outright lies and misleading implications of the commericial? Are we not allowed to debate a subject because some celeberity has a disease?
Do you believe that currently there is no stem cell research funding in this country? Do you believe that currently the federal government does not fund any stem cell research? If so, you need to do some research because that is not true. Do you believe that such research is banned? Again, it is not, any private entity or individual can fund such research and perform such research in the U.S. to their heart's content.
Thus, what, exactly, is the point of the commercial, other than being full of lies to attempt to scare people into voting for democrats? The only thing that currently is not done in this arena is EXPANDING funding of embryo stem-cell reseach beyond pre-exesting lines. Adult stem-cell and umbilical stem-cell research is being funded by the federal government, as well as embryonic stem-cell research on existing lines. And, private funding can always happen, as there is NO ban and no "criminalization" of such research. So, what is the point of the commericial exactly? Where is there any truth in the commercial? Why do certain candidates feel the need to lie about stem-cell research?
Is that really the morally superior and intellectually superior position?
does "from the standpoint of the Iraqi people, my belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators" ring a bell? i'd take edwards' lies over cheney's any day. at least we'd have a president who could spell "stem"
Do you understand the difference between what a "lie" is and what an opinion that turns out to be partially wrong is? Apparently not.
so he goes off his meds? so what? what on earth is your point? off meds, you see Parkinson's Disease exactly as it is. you don't see fake symptoms or a fake disease
Ahh, but is that true? You see symptoms that he really does not have, except when he CHOOSES to go off his meds. So is it not a lie than as to the symptoms? He is making his disease worse for political benefit. I'm not saying that is wrong, but why is pointing it out wrong?
Great banana: He has NOT said he went off his meds for that commercial. And even if he did, that IS brave. Letting the country see your disease-ravaged body in a very exposed way is courageous and deserves our respect.
In today's society, when celeberties go on Opera to claim they have this or that disease, or were sexually assalted as children, in order to garner publicity, I don't see this as courageous.
I don't take a bunch of sinus pills before I go to the doctor because I need him to see my symptoms for what they are, so why should he take a bunch of meds before addressing the need for better treatment for Parkinsons? I applaud him.
Again, I am not arguing that what he did was wrong (if he did go off his meds and/or exagerated his symptoms), I'm just saying that questioning whether he did it is hardly terrible either. That is my only point to the people from the "tolerant" side of the aisle with all of their hatred of conservatives and limbaugh for stating the same.
I am certainly not unwilling to have a reasoned debate if you'll show me one. If you think his ad is full of lies and smears, perhaps you should spend a day in his shoes and decide what kind of treatments you want available to YOU.
Ahh, so reasoned debate in your mind means I am only ALLOWED to have an opinion as to the ethics of embryonic stem-cell research if I have parkinsans. that is "reasoned." Moreover, if you read my other commments on this board, you will see where I point out the lies from his ad. How does having parkinsan's translate into making it ok to lie about facts? That is what you consider "reason"?
The point is that the ad is untrue. A) all stem cell research is legal and funded in the U.S. b) the federal gov't funds every kind of stem-cell research except for embryonic stem cell research c) as to embryonic, the federal gov't does fund research on existing stem-cell lines e) a "cure" for any disease is not on the horizen f) the only promising research thus far is on adult stem cells, not embryonic stem cells g) being against embryonic stem cell research is not akin to not wanting to cure diseases h) private people and entities can fund and conduct embryonic stem cell research as much as they want.
anybody who knows Parkinson's Disease first-hand knows that the meds are partially effective at best. they have a well-known "on/off" phenomenon, whereby patients go through periods of intense expression of symptoms until the last dose of medication starts working. then the symptoms are masked for some varying period of time, and then they reappear. the on/off periods are quite variable, making some days much better (or worse) than others, even when the med regimen stays the same. eventually there's too much deterioration and the "on" periods shrink to almost nothing.
MJF off meds guarantees that people see the worst of the symptoms he actually experiences, every single day, for some period of time. what they see is the disease, not an exaggeration, and they see what he will inevitably become all the time (it's a terminal illness). he is showing the disease at its worse (not "making" it worse), to try to increase research funding.
just stick to the real fight - abortion - and stop smearing people with terminal degenerative illnesses.
Banana....clearly you do not know someone close to you who has this disease.
"You see symptoms that he really does not have, except when he CHOOSES to go off his meds."
Dude, that has to be the STUPIDEST statement I have EVER read in my life. The symptoms exist, medication or no medication. Medication does not cure the disease, it only makes living with it slightly more bearable on a day to day basis. Trust me. My father has Parkinsons. The meds only make it bearable to function. They do not remove or cure the symptoms. The symptoms are still there and still very much visible. I suggest you research this disease.
Pointing it out could be wrong. But only in certain situations.
Say a man robs a convenience store. Gets caught. He has Parkinson's. Case goes to trial and for the three days leading up to the trial he "conveniently" stops taking his medication in order to elicit sympathy for his case. I'm prosecuting attorney and I during the course of the hearing I say "It's a known fact that Mr. Ben Dover has previously admitted to not taking his medication in similar situations in order to exaggerate his symptoms and appear more helpless. Please don't fall for it and feel sorry for him, your honour, he's only doing this to gain your favour!".
I'm only stating the facts...but how popular do you think I'd be?
Even if he does go off his meds (and all I have read is that he did so testifying before Congress in 1998, I haven't seen it confirmed that he does so currently) he's not "hiding" much, he's showing how truly awful Parkinson's is! There is NO CURE, he's lobbying for embryonic stem cell research in hopes of finding a cure, or at least better treatments than there are now.
okay morons. democratics and a new president will change the world. we all know that the house, senate & congress run the cuntry. the dow average is at its highest without the internet balloon that clit-on had. unemployment is at itls lowest, blah, blah, blah.
MJF has no shame. How can you purposely go on tv shaking and pathetic looking just to make your politcal point? He could have taken his meds and done it with dignity.
It's no better than the 911 widows exploiting the death of their husbands for John Kerry's sake. Sick, sick, sick.
Wow – its really great to see all the tolerant liberals who go and research the whole story before calling for his death. (also, isn’t that same kind of hate speech you accuse him of? I haven’t seen him call for anyone to be murdered.) Anyone care to see what he really said? Or just base your judgments off of one sentence taken out of context.
if anyone here had actually taken the time to read M.J. Fox's response in full, you would have seen that, yes, he did admit to going off his meds when he went before congress, but when he appeared in the ad he was on his meds. What the meds do is control "tremors", but what you are seeing in the current video (the side to side swaying) is actually a side effect of the medicine , NOT the disease itself. This is backed up by Michael's doctors comments.
The youtube responses are filled with all sorts of innacuracies and idiocies such as questioning MJF's citizenship (he has been an American citizen for some time now), and how stem cells are actually obtained (they are obtained from discarded embryos as a result of in-vitro fertilizations, NOT aborted fetuses).
If MJF wants to appear in a political ad, so what, he is an adult who is entitled to his own opinions, and to support the political candidates he chooses to.
Wow. This is the exact opposite of the comments I thought I would read here. Thanks, Todd, for posting this. Those of us who know anything about PD know that MJF is on his meds, and those movements are from his side effects, and he (and millions of others) deserve the promise that stem cell research provides.
FUCK RUSH! If he wasnt snorting all those fucking pills he probably wouldnt say shit like that. He of all people should know about disease and how hard it is to cope with. Obviously he is so blinded by his addiction to narcotics that unacceptable shit like that just rolls of the end of his tongue like he is talking about god damn chocolate or something.
you know, i wish rush limbaugh would get this disease. and then i wish he would disappear into one of Jee Dubya's secret prisons where some "frat boy pranksters" can pull some "Abu Ghraib Shenanigans" on him. and then Rep Foley molests his cheesy dick and rotten ass. thank you, love scott.
How does stopping treatment EXAGGERATE SYMPTOMS THAT COME NATURALLY? If someone TOOK something to make symptoms seems worse, then THAT would be "exaggerating symptoms".
I see alot of posting going on here, Do any of you people have a job? Or are you screwing your employers by playing online while you should be working? That being said, keep up the good work.
I trust MJF before I trust that bag of wind who suffers from drug-induced paranoia. MJF is trying to get help for himself and others. Rush is just trying to get his next oxy pill. Go Democrats. You have my vote.
"LIMBAUGH ON MICHAEL J FOX: 'When you wade into political life you have every right to say what you want, but you cannot in turn argue that no one has the right to take you on'..."
Damn Right. I'm really sorry that MJF decided to exploit himself and speak on the behalf of others like him to push his political candidate. BTW, stem cell research, even with its millions of dollars of monies spent has produced practically nill. Core blood (that does not need to use pre-born children) is much more promising and does not violate anyone's religious or moral beliefs. Look it up before you respond with your smart-ass remarks.
Rush is an asshole. Always was, always will be. He could give 2 shits about nobody but himself and his pompous beliefs. And the drug of HIS choice. Yours doesn't count. Just his! All of those in power could not give one damn about you or me. All they care about is their wallets, and their ability to stay in power. And fucking whomever they like. Boy or girl. Wake the fuck up people. You had better be able to take care of yourself, cuz this fucking government doesn't care if you live or die. As long as you pay your taxes and vote for them. Just remember, we have become what our founding fathers ran away from. Disgusting, isn't it? Now the rest of the world looks at us with distain. We are no longer the beacon of light. We are now just like the rest of them.... part of the problem. Will we ever be the true land of the free and home of the brave? Not in my, or probably your lifetimes. Sad but true. But at least we have the foundation to be. We just need to get rid of all the special interests, and those who want us to think like they want us to think. We the people should and have the right to say what should be. Except for you morons. lol Unfortunately, there are more morons than there are not. So, in sum, live, love, laugh and be happy. Cause some asshole is gonna wanna stop you from doing so. Because they believe THEIR belief is what ALL should believe. I guess that's what life on earth is all about. History has proven that life here is really the hell all of the prophets have proclaimed exists. Except for the female body. That, my friends, is truly heaven. Have I just contradicted myself? Of course! The soul that resides in this earthly body, just loves a nice set of tits! So, off I go to enjoy that which is so earthly wonderful...big, round lovely jugs. And yes, Rush is still an asshole!
For the last time...the medicine makes you sway back and forth in an uncontrolable fashion. If he (or anyone else with the condition)stops taking the medication it would cause them to resemble something like expressionless cement
Banana, to have a debate you have to counter point EACH of the other sides points with a more valid point. You have no real counterpoint, youre just beating a dead horse with the irrelevancy of whether Michael J Fox was on his meds.
As for the legality of stem cell research, in reality the best source of stem cells is from embryos, which is illegal in the US. One can only assume as a ploy to condemn abortionists, but in fact fertility clinics "kill" thousands of embryos each year. Where is the republican outcry for those lost "souls"? Why arent those embryos used for stem cell research? Seems Hypocritical to me.
Michael J Fox is an American citizen now, therefore with freedom of speech... but the same can be said of that fat ugly republican Limbaugh.
Besides the point is that Rush Limbaugh is a reprehensible human being with no evident redeeming qualities.
MJ Fox - father, husband, Parkinson's sufferer, did a TV ad that criticized a Republican.
Or Rush Limbaugh - thrice divorced (or is it only two times, it's hard to keep track of his sham marriages), admitted drug abuser, makes a living making fun of people to compensate for his weight problem, his inability to keep a woman, his personality, etc.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with MJ...
I think the Superficial said it best: Rush Limbaugh is an asshole.
Rsh Limbaugh is the slimiest piece of shit to ever ooze from the cracks of the tile in a gas station restroom.
The drug addicted, draft dodging, thrice divorced pencil dicked viagra user who now has the nerve to take shots at Michael J. Fox and his Parkinson's disease.
Will someone just shoot this motherfucker in the head already? Or God in heaven, please strike him with testicular cancer or something else that will cause his soulless body to shrivel up once and for all. Why does he even have a radio career left? Why does anyone take this foul piece of human filth seriously anymore? How can anyone stoop to this level and malign the pain and suffering of another human being who did nothing to him but request people take the issue of stem cell research and it's benefits seriously?
Limbaugh needs to be thinned from the herd. Seriously.
Rush is a junkie. A pill-popping, oxycontin-hooked junkie. Why ANYONE would listen to this complete idiot for more than one second is beyond me. Must be that you have to be an even bigger idiot to listen to him. Or an even bigger junkie.
May he rot in hell. I fully expect him to strangle a puppy on-air any day now. That's the direction he's headed, anyway. After that, he'll rape a little old lady while screaming about liberals. He's DEMENTED.
The biggest problem is that Rush is right... which sucks.
The stuff that Fox is 'promoting' has no scientific evidence/fact behind it (as was commented on by a leading doctor of obstetrics) which means that yes, he can say what he wants, but he can't get a free pass for it being wrong.
Or of course, Fox could just be allowing himself to be used. Whether he knows he's being used is another dicussion all together.
I am a conservative republican from the barry Goldwater school oc conservatism
Between Rush, Anne and the religious right they all managed to mess up a good party. The best thing about the first admendment is that when people open their mouths you know who get to recognize the idiots
I can guarantee that all you brainless critics of Rush have never even listened to his show before or if you have, you don't have the common sense to comprehend Rush's message...if you had any sense at all you would be able to understand that Rush stands for three main things: small government, big defense, and low taxes. If you don't believe in those three things then you are a bleeding heart liberal and you would definitely agree with everything Michael J. Fox says along with Kerry (the war hero), Edwards (the lawyer), Dean (the screamer), Clinton (the masculine one, yeah, Hillary), Kennedy (the swimmer), Pelosi (Miss Botox), and Murtha (the treasonous marine).
9:27 PM i don't have any names as a comeback, just numbers: 2800 dead soldiers, 45000 dead civilians, 1 terrorist mastermind still alive. your side is pretty sharp, i'll miss them after november.
I'd rather take action and vote for someone who might prevent another 9/11 than sit on my ass, not vote for anyone worthwhile and then sit and watch thousands of Americans die again when those sand nigger, cult muslims strike again.
Fuck you stupid "liberals" and your ignorance of reality. You think some Muslim piece of shit from the middle East will care that you vote Democrat when he's sitting next to you with a bomb strapped to his back on the subway? Fuck no! If you're not Muslim, you're dead. Even if you're Muslim, you're dead. Whatever it takes to get the bomber to the afterlife.
You can call me radical, but your family will never come crying to me when you died because you weren't Muslim because I warned you.
Most of us who were directly affected by the 9/11 murders take whatever steps necessary to prevent this from happening again. Voting for someone to be our president who's a tree hugger rather than an ass kicker won't stop another 9/11.
Right or left, all deeply religious people are brainless sheep who can't think for themselves because they're too afraid to go to that scary, imaginary "Hell" place if they question their religions.
republican...democrat..blah..blah...anyone else think that is a terrible photoshoot of Heidi Klum? it looks like a bunch of tacky clothes and bad airbrushing on a naturally beautiful woman.
I think we all need to sit back and remember a couple of things:
1. Rush Limbaugh is the poster boy for political mud-slinging. The amount of things that he has to "apologise" for are far too numerous to count.
2. Rush Limbaugh is not a true representative of the "right" just as those toothless white-trash morons you see on Jerry Springer aren't true representatives of White Supremecists and the Black transvestites aren't true representatives of African-Americans. They are extremes and are presented for shock value, nothing more.
3. It's been repeated countless times that not only did the current administration: (a) ignore warnings from the previous administration about the possibility of 9/11 (b) ignore warnings from internal security (c) ignore warnings from their OWN people, but also (d) cut spending for protecting Americans from such attacks.
The Bush administration has lied over and over again to the people who matter: YOU.
I just wanna say that the main reason why researching on adult stem cells has provided a good number of promising therapies is because they've been researched for about 30 years so far. Embryonic stem cells haven't been studied but in less than the last 10 years, and most of scientific reports don't happen to get published on national media because the great mass of people in the governments who can't understand the difference between a zygote and a fetus just won't let it happen. And I'm livin' in Italy, where the situation of scientific research is even worse (and really I don't think I have to explain how much power catholic religion holds in here and how many young and capable Italian researchers just leave their own country to get to do what they're supposed to).
10:19 PM your ass kicker only beats up on the english language. all his other fights are in the process of going back to the other side. even the caveman taliban are taking their country back, and they're barely capable of walking upright. maybe your guy should have completed his (fag) national guard service, just to see what finishing something is like.
I know I read Rush Limbaugh and thought Karl Rove, for some reason those two are really interchangeable. In my world, that is. How can you pick on Micheal J. Fox, he was and always will be, Marty McFly!
"oh, and btw nice pics of Heidi, when she was younger and hotter."
hmm, i hope you're not implying that younger = hotter cuz i would have to respectfully disagree. it's time we realized as a culture that it's the thinking behind the image that matters.
"As for the legality of stem cell research, in reality the best source of stem cells is from embryos, which is illegal in the US. "
Are you really this stupid? This is not even remotely true. This is why you think the Fox commercial was "true" and that I have debated you, because you have no idea what you are talking about. Please, get a clue. Point to 1 law - just 1 - that makes it illegal.
Also, you are wrong about the science. the only promising stem-cell research thus far is from adult stem cells. Embryonic stem cell research as been a bust thus far.
So, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. All of my points are correct, and if you did some basic reading on the subject, you might learn something and realize why you are so wrong.
And, by the way, you apparently have no idea what a "reasoned" debate is. It's where both sides have some idea of the basic facts, and then argue about those fact's meaning. You are starting from a position of not having any idea of what the facts are, you simply believe what you want to believe to be true, and then argue based on that. That is not "reasoned" debate, no matter how many times you state something as untrue as what I cited above. Sorry.
how does this fuck still have a radio show?? all the drugs hes taken and all the bullshit he has said in the past thats needed an apologoy. this guy will do anything for attention.
and i think michael j fox was off his meds in the add and i dont blame him. let the world feel sorry for you for having parkinsons so they not only vote democrate in missouri but try to let stem-cell research be legal nation wide. embryonic stem-cell's specifically will be the future cure for almost everything.
It's no better than the 911 widows exploiting the death of their husbands for John Kerry's sake. Sick, sick, sick. "
Comments like these must be made by "Lemmings for Dubya" who are waiting for the frickin rapture.
BTW, how about all those "brown" people have been killed in the Iraq war? I think the estimates are around 600,000. Also, our troops are being shot to hell all for a lie that the neocons made up to get the US in this unholy mess.
I love this whole poor Rush has his words taken out of context crap, because ironically one of his big "jokes" was to take other people's words out of context and then make faces in a little pop up balloon next to their face. No joke, I've seen him do it on his short lived show. Then he liked to spend time knocking the heck out of the poor sap when they were not there to defend themselves. Futhermore, it often wasn't even famous people but "the guy on the street" being surveyed. So pot...kettle...black
Man, there is nothing funnier than a Bush supporter attacking Kerry or anyone else who served in a war. There is nothing more hypocritical than being an "ass kicker" when you're sending someone else to the front lines when you dodged them yourself. Besides, all his "ass kicking" has done so far is create more hatred for the U.S. worldwide and, as a result, created an uncontrollable mess. Oh, and to lump all Muslims together as terrorists is no different than saying all republicans are unabombers.
"hmm, i hope you're not implying that younger = hotter cuz i would have to respectfully disagree. it's time we realized as a culture that it's the thinking behind the image that matters".
That's exactly what I'm implying. Women, almost without exception, " hit the wall" after 35. I couldn't give a shit about the "thinking behind the image". That is not what made her famous. It's the fact that she once was a hot piece of ass. While she is stil attractive for her age, she is nowhere as hot currently, as she once was. While in some cases (in reference to women) younger is not hotter; only because they were never hot to begin with. Almost without exception, younger is always hotter. I hope this clarifies my remarks.
Holy mackerel! I knew this board was going to go nutso with this story and that it would be "Right" vs. "Left": People, people: Can we PLEASE get back to the important stuff like how that handsome hunky man Billy Zane is looking in his camo shorts?! Damn! If I wanted to read a political debate I'd be at CNN.com screaming in horror at Nancy Grace's FUGLY face!
Well, I just had it out with one of our more right-wing extremists here at work, and I am happy to report that we both agreed on one very important issue: Rush Limbaugh is gross, and the thought of him taking Viagra is scary!
Bill Clinton gets a blowjob from a consenting adult, 30 million bucks are spent investigating it, and he is ultimately impeached for said blowjob?
George Bush steals an election, lies about a Taliban-Iraq connection and weapons of mass destruction to justify invading Iraq, thousands of American soldiers die, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis die, and the man sits in the White House impeachment-free?
Interesting to say the least....;)
Republican Americans: Wake the fuck up to the halfwit invalid manning your oval office. Barking threats to Iran and North Korea? Yeah, your spread-too-thin military can afford to take on more battles right now, right? It's not like they aren't getting their asses kicked so badly in Iraq that they have to pull out of Afghanistan and leave NATO troops to clean up the mess they've made there.
The United States has more nuclear weapons than any other country, and your military uses weapons of mass destruction (rockets/missiles) like the average person uses soap, every day.
Rush is a lying hypocrite, drug-addict, obnoxious, loud, pathetic screamer.
Was it he who was touting the fact that the government was "winning the war on drugs"?
Was he razoring his oxycotin to cook it into a free-base sludge while he was crowing about how we are cutting off funding to terrorists by halting their illegal drug running?
Or was he having a mellow morning with thick, relaxing sludge coursing through hid veins?
He should be absolutely embarrassed by his bravado, hypocrisy and hubris.
Anybody (like Michael J. Fox) who uses his disease (that's what he does) to support political causes (that, too, is what he does) deserves whatever derision he gets.
Now... how about some pix of Jennifer Love Hugetits, okay? :-)
Rush apologists visit IDontLikeYouInThatWay.com? Who knew Rushbots frequented such a den of un-family values? Don't let the fuhrer find out you tune into gossip about godless, liberal Hollywood celebrities.
Rush as a morally credible voice on drug usage? My absurdity/irony meter just exploded - into helpless laughter. Face it, Rush cares only about Rush and the kind of right-wing, fascist political types that have made him into the twisted media god that he is.
Michael's movements were not because he didn't take his meds like with congress, he moves like that whenever on camera, just look at Denis Leary's Roast, he moves the same way. When he is moving he feels that he is less likely to start shakes that he can't control. Read Michael's book before you judge him based on ONE small excerpt from Rush and you will get a whole different perspective of the disease and see that Rush was just being a fucktard.

Nice, 2 quick references that anyone who disagrees with you politically is akin to a nazi. that's the kind of persausive argument that makes me want to become a liberal. that, and telling me how much you care about this or that issue or person. Emotions and hatred, that seems to be all the left ever has to offer. I have never heard an actual idea or argument from any leftist.
facts: 2 terms, absolutely nothing positive accomplished, 2 giant negatives to be left as a legacy to future generations (iraq, debt). it's unprecedented in modern times. but at least he tried to molest the chancellor of germany, so that YouTube could have a "greatest ever" clip.
"I can guarantee that all you brainless critics of Rush have never even listened to his show before or if you have, you don't have the common sense to comprehend Rush's message"
oh, i've listened to his show all right, and my comprehension skills are just fine. he's an arrogant, rich windbag who has absolutely no understanding whatsoever of the world outside his cigar bars and golf courses. his politics are just nonsensical spewings designed to make him wealthy, and he has succeeded.
"...if you had any sense at all you would be able to understand that Rush stands for three main things: small government, big defense, and low taxes."
then how is he a member of the gop? because frankly, low taxes are all that's left of the republican party's platform; the bush administration has seen to that. read the last defense budget; it was slashed markedly from the year prior. and how can any government that is dipping its hands in everything from wiretaps to videos on mtv be considered 'small'?
"If you don't believe in those three things then you are a bleeding heart liberal"
the republican party has been hijacked by people who believe in only one of those three things; are they bleeding heart liberals, then? you are a fucking idiot. learn to THINK, dude. the term 'dittohead' isn't a compliment.
The right to free speech is not the right to uncontested speech.
Rush Limbaugh does not deserve a free pass. He is a nationally syndicated radio talk show host. If he says something we, as his viewing public, find offensive, then we have the responsibility to voice our disagreement.
That's how free speech works. It works for everybody, equally... whether you are the president, or a news reporter, or a commentator, or a civilian.
What did Rush Limbaugh say? Essentially, that Michael J Fox did not have the right to speak about his issue. That he was misrepresenting himself. That he was "off his medication." Rush Limbaugh slandered Mr. Fox for no good reason. He didn't argue points. He didn't present facts. He just vomited forth unsubstantiated conjecture. Which was, not incidently, WRONG.
So, Rush was wrong in every sense of the term, and he should be told so.
I feel sorry for all you Americans because, as you can tell from some of these comments, your country is really, really divided. You have this huge religious right that votes for Bush and listens to Rush. It's almost impossible to run a modern democracy when half the people are dogmatic right-wing asses because "tyranny of the (small) majority" becomes "tyranny of the stupid". Poor, poor you.
Mr Fox was wrong. We just don't want federal taxes to go into this research. There is plenty of money out there willing to invest in magic cure alls. And we don't intend to arrest doctors. His charges were all lies and he deserves to feel the heat.
Rush Limbaugh is a waste of human life. Case closed. Not so much different then Paris Hilton, but it seems they both are attention whores, one is just a pathetic herpes ridden slut, and the other one is a pathetic hypocritical drug addict who can't seem to say anything that makes sense to anyone, even in representing his own party. I don't know a soul who listens to his crap radio show, I find that it might completely deplete your brain cells in mere seconds if your ears are exposed to such blasphemy. In other words, FUCK HIM!
9:46, Wow you're so observant, I've known that shit for years. You know what, the ENTIRE world is a divided and messed up place...and you know why, it's because of the monopoly of capitalism and religion...simple as that...no matter how much you pretend to love other people, money will always get in the way, because people always want more (it's called greed), and if you don't believe in the same things as the "powerful" ones do, you're totally fucked...in fact, it's like you don't exist in some countries...
No, the USA is the most fucked up country in history, where 50% of the people are religious right-wingers who secretly spend their work day looking for pictures of Paris Hilton's ass on sites like this.
rush is just jealous of michael because he gets better drugs LEGALLY. rush is a pill addict. his word is anything but golden, but i did hear he likes golden showers.
Rush is a ass! My father has M.S., which is also terminal, much like what MJF has. The side affects of his meds are hard to pin down, because they can change day to day. I wish people crack a book or reserch something besides Paris Hilton's ass before commenting on complex subjects like nerurologically diseases.
I hope Rush, well, I can't say, but it would involve a cactus and a tight space.
Oh, I would like to just say that fat-ass Rush has really shown his ugly and ignorant side...(which is hard to find since there are no sides on a blob!) To pick on a person that is in pain and does suffer...I can't wait until Rush dies and goes to Hell!
jabba the rush needs to get a terminal illness so we can all point fingers and tell him what a liar and a faker he is when he uses his celebrity (if thats what you call it) to raise money for his cause.
"so he goes off his meds? so what? what on earth is your point? off meds, you see Parkinson's Disease exactly as it is. you don't see fake symptoms or a fake disease (like fatass's pill-popping "addiction", what a fucking pussy), you see the real thing. the goal is to cure it, that's what the stem-cell research is about and why it needs to be funded. i know rush and his followers are retards, but this deserves some sort of prize.
October 25, 2006 12:08 "
That's very similar to what I was going to say. Everyone keeps saying he has admitted to going off his meds to "exaggerate" his symptoms... what they fail to see is going off the meds doesn't exaggerate his symptoms-it merely shows them without being suppressed by medications! That is not the definition of "exaggeration"- it's the definition of natural symptoms (without being minimized by use of drugs). There is a very real difference.

By Brian, on 11:45 AM

By Anonymous, on 11:48 AM
So I guess its ok for Michael J. Fox to make false statements simply because he has parkinson.
Also, Fox has admitted to going off his meds before testifing before congress and making other public appearances.
The media has portrayed Rush as the bad guy for years and intentially takes his comments out of context.
Anybody who listen to him regularly, knows who Rush really is.
Be braindead and believe all you hear from the liberal media if you like.

Just wondering.

By Great Banana, on 12:35 PM

Thus, what exactly, is the point of the ad?
By Great Banana, on 12:49 PM
anybody who knows Parkinson's Disease first-hand knows that the meds are partially effective at best. they have a well-known "on/off" phenomenon, whereby patients go through periods of intense expression of symptoms until the last dose of medication starts working. then the symptoms are masked for some varying period of time, and then they reappear. the on/off periods are quite variable, making some days much better (or worse) than others, even when the med regimen stays the same. eventually there's too much deterioration and the "on" periods shrink to almost nothing.
By Anonymous, on 12:57 PM
Banana....clearly you do not know someone close to you who has this disease.
"You see symptoms that he really does not have, except when he CHOOSES to go off his meds."
Dude, that has to be the STUPIDEST statement I have EVER read in my life. The symptoms exist, medication or no medication. Medication does not cure the disease, it only makes living with it slightly more bearable on a day to day basis. Trust me. My father has Parkinsons. The meds only make it bearable to function. They do not remove or cure the symptoms. The symptoms are still there and still very much visible. I suggest you research this disease.
By Vampy, on 1:02 PM
By Vigilante, on 1:02 PM
Even if he does go off his meds (and all I have read is that he did so testifying before Congress in 1998, I haven't seen it confirmed that he does so currently) he's not "hiding" much, he's showing how truly awful Parkinson's is! There is NO CURE, he's lobbying for embryonic stem cell research in hopes of finding a cure, or at least better treatments than there are now.

if anyone here had actually taken the time to read M.J.

I trust MJF before I trust that bag of wind who suffers from drug-induced paranoia. MJF is trying to get help for himself and others. Rush is just trying to get his next oxy pill. Go Democrats. You have my vote.

As reported on Drudge (http://drudgereport.com/):

MJF shakes from the Parkinsons and Rush shakes from the lack of drugs. Maybe they should hand them a couple of bottles of milk and have them sing:
My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, and they're like "It's better than yours!"

By Anonymous, on 4:50 PM
Let's see, what side to take?
MJ Fox - father, husband, Parkinson's sufferer, did a TV ad that criticized a Republican.
Or Rush Limbaugh - thrice divorced (or is it only two times, it's hard to keep track of his sham marriages), admitted drug abuser, makes a living making fun of people to compensate for his weight problem, his inability to keep a woman, his personality, etc.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with MJ...

It's not a child until it's born. Zygote, fetus, infant. Three stages, three names, and one is not the other.
By Anonymous, on 5:13 PM
So does that make Bum Rush a Zygote? Or an infant? Must be the infant because I think he might have been born yesterday.
And I wasn't aware that the medication caused the swaying. No Parkinson's in my family. Cancer is the disease of choice.

Seriously.
By Jerry, on 8:24 PM
Rush is a junkie. A pill-popping, oxycontin-hooked junkie. Why ANYONE would listen to this complete idiot for more than one second is beyond me. Must be that you have to be an even bigger idiot to listen to him. Or an even bigger junkie.
May he rot in hell. I fully expect him to strangle a puppy on-air any day now. That's the direction he's headed, anyway. After that, he'll rape a little old lady while screaming about liberals. He's DEMENTED.
By Anonymous, on 8:29 PM
The biggest problem is that Rush is right... which sucks.
The stuff that Fox is 'promoting' has no scientific evidence/fact behind it (as was commented on by a leading doctor of obstetrics) which means that yes, he can say what he wants, but he can't get a free pass for it being wrong.
Or of course, Fox could just be allowing himself to be used. Whether he knows he's being used is another dicussion all together.

Sorry.

By Anonymous, on 7:15 AM
Man, there is nothing funnier than a Bush supporter attacking Kerry or anyone else who served in a war. There is nothing more hypocritical than being an "ass kicker" when you're sending someone else to the front lines when you dodged them yourself. Besides, all his "ass kicking" has done so far is create more hatred for the U.S. worldwide and, as a result, created an uncontrollable mess. Oh, and to lump all Muslims together as terrorists is no different than saying all republicans are unabombers.

That's exactly what I'm implying. Women, almost without exception,

While she is stil attractive for her age, she is nowhere as hot currently, as she once was. While in some cases (in reference to women) younger is not hotter; only because they were never hot to begin with. Almost without exception, younger is always hotter. I hope this clarifies my remarks.

So, let me get this straight....

He should be absolutely embarrassed by his bravado, hypocrisy and hubris.

then how is he a member of the gop? because frankly, low taxes are all that's left of the republican party's platform; the bush administration has seen to that. read the last defense budget; it was slashed markedly from the year prior. and how can any government that is dipping its hands in everything from wiretaps to videos on mtv be considered 'small'?

By Anonymous, on 8:27 PM
I feel sorry for all you Americans because, as you can tell from some of these comments, your country is really, really divided. You have this huge religious right that votes for Bush and listens to Rush.
