Lindsay Lohan is an Alcoholic

  • I bet she's gonna be in rehab by next week

  • Good job whoring out your daughter, Dina Lohan! You and Britney's mom should get together and kill yourselves.

    By Anonymous, on 11:33 AM

  • I don't buy it. Total PR stunt.

Plus, last time I checked alcohol isn't this bitch's problem.
    Coke is.

    By Anonymous, on 11:34 AM

  • I can't believe she was up before 7:30. She must have been up coked out from the night before.

    By Anonymous, on 11:35 AM

  • AA is a religious cult and doesn't "cure" anyone. In most cases all it does is replace one addiction with another - religion instead of alcohol. Instead of just thinking for themselves and making the choice to stop drinking, they call on "God" to help them. Such weak minded bullshit.

    By Anonymous, on 11:41 AM

  • 11:34 - right on, you posted the exact thing I was going to say. And since it's been nonstop Spear Britney for the past week, little Linds had to do something to make sure she gets talked about. Alcohol is the least of her addictions and furthermore, anytime a celeb is serious about trying to clean up, they go to $40,000 a wk private rehab facility, they don't waltz into an AA meeting. This pisses me off for the people who were there and are actually serious about getting their lives back on track and this stupid whore does it for attention.

I agree. All that's missing at AA meetings are a few snakes to be handled.

Wow, Tom Cruise posted a comment!

    By Anonymous, on 11:55 AM

  • Tom Cruise wouldn't call anything a "cult" b/c he's in denial that he belongs to a cult.

    By Anonymous, on 11:56 AM

  • Have any of you actually been to an AA meeting? I run one, and I'm an atheist. While God is central to the message of AA, it's not what most people think- God in AA represents the power of humanity, not a spiritual being that lives in the sky. When a memeber is told to 'give themself to God' it means to trust your fellow man, some of them really do want to help. When you are told to surrender to God, it means it's okay to cry and feel lost, but that you will get through with help of friends.

Those in AA who are religious do take it like God, those of us who aren't religious aren't forced to be, we aren't shunned for not believing, and we get just as much support and help as anyone else in the group.

Anyone who even thinks about dealing with any addiction needs applause and not ridicule, Lohan included. I'd be more than happy to see her get any help, whether her true addiction is booze, blow, or something much deeper than substance abuse. Any help is better than no help.

    By Anonymous, on 12:07 PM

  • this could be real. it's not unimagineable that she felt she hit rock bottom when she was booted from the paris-britney clique during recess yesterday.

    By Anonymous, on 12:12 PM

  • Addiction is a choice. You can make the choice to stop drinking. You're the one making the choice to pick up the booze and drink it. If you want to bad enough, you can stop on your own. Places like AA convince you that you're weak and can't do it on your own and the you "need" them and, yes, God to help you stop. It's a shame these places take the power away from you and enable you to blame other things/people for your OWN problems.

    By Anonymous, on 12:13 PM

  • Those in AA who are religious do take it like God

i hear He takes it in the butt. lindsay should feel at home.

    By Anonymous, on 12:14 PM

  • The 12 Steps of AA:

    1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable.

    2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

    3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

    4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

    5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

    6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

    7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

    8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

    9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

    10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

    11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

    12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

    By flavorflavor, on 12:21 PM

  • What AA meeting starts earlier than 7:30 am? That means it starts at like 6 am.

    By Anonymous, on 12:26 PM

  • it doesn't matter if she goes to AA or goes to rehab or whatever she may do. obviously the only thing that happens if she sobers up is she sees herself as more of a role model for all the underage girls in hollywood and around the world. she'd pick it up as a crusade to prove that she's better than everyone, "especially that whore paris hilton" and we would never hear the end of it.

and if the paparazzi doesn't cover her lifestyle change she's get even more indignant and self righteous and because that would mean that the paparazzi want girls to be crazy out of control and then she'd get to bitch about unfair media coverage. really, which is the lesser of two evils? occasional crotch photos as she leaves a car or nonstop preaching?

    By Anonymous, on 12:33 PM

  • Perez Hilton (not that I'm a huge fan or anything, I'm really not, he drives me nuts) says that the AA stuff is bullshit. FWIW.

    By Anonymous, on 12:38 PM

  • I'm sorry, completely skipping over the PR-stunt AA bullshit...the part that really depresses me is that this chick is a no-talent whore, and yet she's wearing an ugly sheet, that probably costs more than my car.

    No Justice.

    By Anonymous, on 12:39 PM

  • I know people who have gone the AA route or religious route and with all the God talk and other nonsense that came with it, I was wishing they would start drinking again.

    By Anonymous, on 12:52 PM

  • Assuming this is all true I wish her the best.

    By Anonymous, on 1:04 PM

  • From the High & Mighty Desk -

If she's attending AA meetings in an attempt to get her life back on the rails, sorry, in an attempt to proactively straighten her life out, then it's an admirable, mature, and often exhaustive decision.

If--and I am willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt on this--the decision is not hers but rather that of her publicist, or worse still, a publicized payoff to her own conscience, then she has no business setting foot in an AA meeting. And should be punched in the tit.

    That is all. Carry on.

    By Gonzo, on 1:14 PM

  • this news is so surprising.

    By Anonymous, on 2:29 PM

  • I would like to point out that's birthday is 7/2/1986 (thanks imdb.com), which means she's 20. Here in the United Sates, that means she's unable to drink legally.
But who cares when she's in Hollywood that she's addicted to something she should have no legal right to have.

BTW, watch Penn & Teller: Bullshit's episode on AA. Very informative (like what some of the people here have been saying)

    Put the bottle down Lohan.

    By Anonymous, on 2:37 PM

  • good call on the birthday thing; i was just about to point out how someone is going to AA who is still a minor...

unless of course, AA stands for something else, in which case, i still wouldn't believe it. Blohan does nothing anonymously.

    By Anonymous, on 2:46 PM

  • lindsay lohan is my idol, shes so cool and fun. just living her life.yea she makes mistakes but w/e she'll fall and pick herself up like the rest of us.

    By Anonymous, on 2:46 PM

  • how is looking for help make you weak.thats just stupid.

    By Anonymous, on 2:50 PM

  • This is so bogus. There is no way Lindsay Lohan is awake at 7:30 am.

As for AA, it saved my dad's life, as it has many others. People who bash it are just a bunch of drunks who feel threatened by it.

    By Anonymous, on 3:05 PM

  • Here's the thing I find interesting about all this: At a time when virtually all of us who did not abuse drugs or alcohol decided to START immediately upon seeing the horror that is Brit's crotch, here's this young lady making an effort to STOP...?!?!

    Go figure...

    By Anonymous, on 3:17 PM

  • She looks coked off her ass in those pictures.

    By Anonymous, on 3:32 PM

  • Actually - AA does change people. It changed me and my life is way better without the sauce. AA is way more than about not drinking. It teaches a person how to grow up, lose self centered instrests and treat others with respect. She could use that tonic based on her past.

    By Anonymous, on 3:33 PM

  • She looks like 1960's Liz Taylor in the photos at the bottom. Lindsay really is a great looking woman when she's put together and not high.

    By Anonymous, on 3:35 PM

  • AA is a fabulous program for those who are willing to go to any length to get sober. If she wants sobriety more than anything else, AA can help her find it. If she's going there to get the heat off and profile - she's doomed...

AA worked for me after EVERY other self-thought failed me. It was the last house on the block and it welcomed me. For that I am thankful

    By Anonymous, on 3:38 PM

  • Thanks Todd. This group discussing AA/Blohan fashion choices is about as batshit crazy as Tom Cruise.

By What ho!, on 3:54 PM

  • i hate to say this , due to the sheer entertainment value of a drunken coked out slut Lindsay has given us over the last few years, but...good for her. I may not agree with some of the religious bullshit AA puts out....but at least she seems to be trying.

    By Anonymous, on 7:08 PM

  • I didn't know AA meetings started so early...I think this is just a rumor...plus it said she was had just gotten out of an AA meeting at 7:30am, so what time did the damn meeting start at? 6:30am? I highly doubt it, this skank's on the narcotics and booze for a LONG time...I don't blame her either, her parents and her life SUCK!

    By Anonymous, on 9:29 PM

  • too bad she hasn't wrapped her car around a tree yet. that would have been the one instance where drunk driving actually improved society.

    By Anonymous, on 9:39 PM

  • You said it. All you assholes that ridicule AA don't have the foggiest notion of what you are talking about. I've been clean and sober for almost twenty years now (one day at a time) and the Twelve Steps changed my life; no, they actually saved my life. AA is a miracle and anyone who goes there to help themselves is in for a long hard struggle. BUT not one dime of tax payer money is spent to fix you. You who laugh at AA want some government program and a ton of drugs and tax payer supported therapy to fix you. The drugs just mean that the tax payer will support you for the rest of your life. If you know anyone with this awful awful condition you already know the real horror of the situation and the impossibility of "helping" that person from outside. Ridiculing her, stomping on her while she is down, says more about you than it does about her.

    By Howard, on 9:47 PM

    By Anonymous, on 10:20 PM

    By Anonymous, on 10:40 PM

  • Whether we agree with AA, or not, let's just hope she can get sober or clean, if that's what she wants to do.

    By Anonymous, on 2:59 AM

By Bitch McMean, on 4:47 AM

  • Religious, weak-minded, cult bullshit.

    12:16 PM

Obviously spoken from someone who has not worked the program. I have been sober eight years because of this program. It doesn't mean you are a religious fanatic (I'm not). It means surrendering and realizing I could not do it alone. People that think addiction can be "cured" by willpower are just wrong. Agree, though, she wouldn't be going to AA meetings, she would be checking into some facility, maybe where Mel Gibson went, who knows.

    By Anonymous, on 5:20 AM

  • what ignorance and arrogance you show in all the AA and addiction bashing posts

you pre-contempt and condescension show you probably either failed in your own recovery attempts, or know nothing at all about what addiction and addiction recovery truly is

if addiction is just a choice, why do insurance companies pay for rehab. insurance companies don't just hand out money, especially to people who have bad morals so they can live with a cult for a few weeks in a membership drive

is your derision rooted in your insecurity

    By Anonymous, on 6:42 AM

  • Oh shut the fuck up already!!

Sorry this is a celebrity gossip blog. If you drunks, sorry recovering alcoholics, want to share your breakthrough stories and sing Kumbayah, fine.
Just take that shit somewhere else.
    Thanks.

    By Anonymous, on 9:53 AM

  • I just read that her mom & sister where on a radio show and her mom said that she is going to AA but she has no problems???? Hmmm???

    By Anonymous, on 10:52 AM

  • AA people are kind of annoying, with their endless recitation of catch words, phrases, and slogans. it's like their original personalities are submerged under a thick AA veneer that looks the same on everybody. but that's probably what is working for them when they do stay abstinent through AA - it substitutes a form of dependency (on AA people, AA thinking and speaking, all that stuff) that's just as intense as their former drug or alcohol dependence. and, as somebody noted, it's totally free, no taxpayer money involved, unlike medical treatments that we partially subsidize just like everything else.

but still, putting a bumpersticker on your car that says "Powerless"??? step 13 should be recognizing that for non-AA people all the AA stuff is like a stranger's public orgasm - unquestionably it works for him, but christ almighty (umm..."higher-power"), keep it to yourself, fella.

    By Anonymous, on 2:52 PM

  • so THAT'S why my hotel bed was missing the sheet! (and reeked of pot, whiskey, and astroglyde)

    By Anonymous, on 3:25 PM

  • The medical profession is near unanimous in the opinion that alcohol addiction is the worst addiction of all the drugs; the withdrawl lasts longer; the rehab the most difficult. Nobody consciously chooses to BECOME an alkie, most were actually alcoholics before they ever took their first drink; in some cases it's genetic (American Indians for example); and in some cases it's an expression of pre-existing mental illness. The problem is always compounded because of the availability of alcohol, the fact that it's legal; the constant media barrage urging us all to drink "because everybody else does," and the glamorization of drinking or using drugs til "you're out of it" as portrayed in movies and videos. Lohan will have to get sober on her own because she wants to, and if she wants to badly enough AA will work as it's worked for millions everywhere in the world.

    By amazingcroc, on 10:12 PM

  • At least she has ONE talent.

    By Anonymous, on 6:32 AM

  • I think I could even care about any Blohan stuff, but I won't. To my account, she could die like nicolas cage in Leaving Las Vegas and I'd only know that because of IDLYITW.

What concerns me most is the whole AA bullshit, which may not even be bullshit per se, but is based on a huge mistake. The mistake is that people in America never drink anything but alcohol at all times. It's like it's mandatory, it's insane.

    By Anonymous, on 1:52 PM

  • might have been an NA meeting

    those are more fun

    By Anonymous, on 4:45 PM

  • isn't the legal drinking age 21? I can see Lohan hire some liberal trial lawyer now to sue all of the clubs that plyed her alcohol.

    By Anonymous, on 7:38 PM

  • First, to the person who said that addiction cannot be cured through willpower: You, good sir, are a knave.

Addiction can only be cured through willpower. Nothing else. Those who use pseudo-religious bullshit are simply exchanging one thing for another. Be it "God" or some near fanatical devotion to a twelve step program or anyhing else of that kind.

Needing some support group to bring you to a conclusion you should have come to on your own is a sign of a weak mind.

The so called "twelve steps" are nonsense. The very first step is a lie, and from there the entire system breaks down.

People are only powerless against themselves, and to admit or belive any different is cretinous.

And before you imbeciles try to lecture me on this point - shut the hell up. I've suffered with addiction during my lifetime, and unlike those weak-minded nitwits at AA, I didn't need anyone else to pull me out of that hole.

As for Ms. Lohan, she is a selfrighteous, megalomaniacal, hypocritical miscreant who needs nothing more than a good kicking. She is solely responsible for her current situation, and ought to be forcibly denied and kind of help in getting out of it.

As some brazillian soccer player once said: "If you want to go out into the rain, be prepared to get burned."

    Unequivocally.

    - R
