Here's the video of Inside Edition's report on Jessica Simpson's hilarious performance at the Kennedy Center Honors. I guess if the lyrics go beyond the bounds of "Ooh, la, la, I love ya baby, babeh, babeh, yeahhhahhhoohhyeaahaahhh, yeah, babay yayayayayaaaauuuhhh...uh" then they're too hard for her to remember. Even though Dolly Parton is her "idol" she still didn't remember the words to one of Dolly's most popular songs ever. Hence the cue cards. And she couldn't even read those right. Where's the Showtime at the Apollo audience and a clown with a broom when you really need them? At least Aretha could have made herself useful and yelled, "Bitch, get off the damn stage!"
