there are strong ties in africa with the countries surrounding the mediterranean and a lot are mixed that is correct but that does not apply to every black person in africa. also blacks with muslim names in africa arent neccessarily mixed with arab. most (by choice) changed their names when they took on the islam religion. now if you do your research you will find that there are africans whom have straight silky hair and thats is one of the reasons that led scientist to come up with the theory that all races evolved from black people and that the human race started in africa. so i suggest you do some research next time you decide to make some sort of interjection.

Blacks converting to Islam is a North American trend, not an African trend. There are Muslim extremists who are now pouring into Africa because they are taking advantage of Africa's inability to fight them off (they are doing the same in Sweden), but Africans aren't changing their names to Muhammad the way the Farrakhan following douchebags are in America.

I just love uninformed ignorance. There are no "pure" people anymore anyway. North Africa is in Africa, Egypt is in Africa and not all Egyptians are descended from Nomadic Arab tribes. There are Africans in other parts of the continent that are light skinned and have less coarse hair. I am an anthropologist thank you. Furthermore... both Beyonce and her momma and Iman ALL wear wigs and extensions and weaves. There are Jews with coarser hair than some Black people. You don't have to be "multiracial" to have coarse hair. Weaves were not invented by Blacks but Black hairdressers do seem to know what better to do with them. Terry Hatcher, Paris Hilton, Cher, John Travolta, Nicolas Cage, ALL wear lace front wigs and weaves. ANYONE who wants to change their hair or doesn't take care of their hair might want to wear one. Just make sure you get it fixed right. It has nothing to do with wanting to be white in general although I'm sure with all the pressure in this world to have blond straight hair, many people (dark haired Whites included) are dying to be part of the crowd.
