I really loved him In What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I think he was okay in Titanic, the whole movie didn't rest on one performance though. But his performance certainly was one reason for it's success.
I've never found him terribly attractive. Maybe it's one of those things where I'd have to see him in person. Does anyone think he looks like the actor who plays Dr. McSteamy on Grey's Anatomy. That guy looks like Leo in the face, a more mature, sexier version of Leo. McSteamy's face looks like Leo's except filled out and very masculine.
