We used a Sunset Blvd. recording studio for a movie shoot, and one of the guys showed us the computer program they used to fix the voices of bad singers. We asked who had the worst voice that needed the most fixing. It was unanimous, they said Lopez sounded like a dying animal before the computer cleaned up her voice.

Jennifer Lopez is rightnot to kiss the record store's ass to make them money. That is all they want is her to appear so they can make money from it. SWhe is not disrespecting latinos, she is just not catering to a record store. nho reason for anyone but that record chain owner to get upset. The fans can see her at some other appearance; not like she will ban all latinos from showing up. They can get the CD, probably cheaper, elsewhere. This record store chain did not make Jennifer Lopez. She didn't rise from the latin market to the pop scene. I am not even a Jennifer Lopez fan but I see this as an attempt to get attention from her name and/or to force her to kiss their ass. She should avoid it. Record chains, of any type, are not the average fan of any race/creed/color etc.

I do think that JLo is a bit phony and that Jenny from the block thing was fake and lame all at the same time. But she need not show herself at this small-time record chain in order to show she is down with her roots.

I am from The Bronx, Puerto Rican and I can't stand Jennifer Lopez. But the comment "Puerto Ricans like knives and parades" is completely derogatory.

Sure, the vast majority of Latinos in The Bronx cannot stand Lopez. And Ritmo Latino has done the right thing by banning her music (Rincon Musical should follow suit). However, as a culture Puerto Ricans are a VERY proud people and you definitely see that in our parades. Yes, there are some miscreants out there that ruin the fun but to say that all Puerto Ricans love knives is totally out of line.

I do realize this website wants to create the "snark" and I can understand it to that extent. Let's just not "go there" bashing cultures (and not just Puerto Ricans). However bashing Lopez, all for it and in that sense, good job.
