The so called black leadership wants their asses kissed by whitey. They want to be feared and then get "donations" (read bribes) by the white businesses (just like mob protection rackets) so they wont brand them as racists and, in the case of WFAN, lose advertisers who are scared to look racist by being in bed with Imus. If nobody reacted to Imus would his employers even care about what he said?

11:54--have you ever checked Imus' puny ratings? Please point out one example of Stern getting his butt kicked by Imus. Who had a nightly show on E and CBS? Who had more syndicated stations? Not Imus.
Imus gets no audience, it is just that it is assumed that the white males of a certain desireable demographic listen to him so he can charge high ad rates. Imus has never kicked Stern's butt. Imus was scared of Stern's talent and wit, that is why he treated Stern like crap at NBC and Howard never forgets or forgives. To be a Stern fan one must hate Don Imus more than any other broadcaster out there.

I worked at FAN for three months. I am female and whenever I went near any of the Imus crew, including Imus, they would leer at me, stick their tongues out, make jokes and laugh. I should say that I was 17 at the time and looked younger and they are old enough to be my grandfather. This is how you treat a young college girl in a work environment. Assholes all. I would have complained but it was for college credit and I would not have gotten anywhere anyway.
