Scientology Wants Virginia Tech

  • It's the scientologists who have the REAL psychiatric problems. Just look at that nut-bar Tom Cruise.

  • Fuck those stupid scientology freaks. I can tell you that people in this part of the country (south-west VA/NC) could give a shit about your fucked up hollywood "religion." I cant BELIEVE the nerve of those Scientology fuckers jumping on this situation. If I were at VT, I would kick the bastards off my campus.

  • Todd, once again, brilliant. You are like God to me at this point.

    By Anonymous, on 12:23 PM

  • Thanks for the like to the Eli story.

I'd be more likely to punch a scientologist in the face than to listen to anything they have to say.

    Scientologists are retards.

  • As if I didn't already have enough reason to detest those %$#%! PSYCHOtologists! How friggin' dare they capitalize on a tragedy of such proportion! Maybe ya'll should gather up an army of folks taking necessary anti-depressants just to prove them "right" and do 'em in? Plead insanity.

  • In other news, this morning 60-year-old Ethel B. Oldlady collapsed due to a hypoglycemic attack. After bystanders called 911 and gave her a glass of orange juice, a local Scientologist found insulin syringes in Ethel's purse.

ANOTHER DIABETIC CRISIS, ANOTHER SHOT OF INSULIN! COINCIDENCE?

Cause and effect are NOT transitive! those Scientologist assholes are worse than stupid; they're dangerous.

  • Of course, they can't tell you why the millions of other people who have undergone drug treatments for psychological problems haven't turn into mass murderers. If you're looking for a pattern, check out the 99.999999% of psychiatric drug users who aren't murderers.

    Help me Tom Cruise!!!

  • Scientologist are in denial that they belong to a 50yr old made up cult by sience fiction novelist Ron L. Hubbard. I beleive one of Ron's collegues dared him to make up a religion and he did...Sientology.

God, these people are idiots. Such sick opportunist.I think this stupid "cult" was ment to control women.
They are the problem. I agree that phsyciatric drugs should not be used if a person has a mental illness/instability ALONE!! But should be used ALONG with therapy. But to get rid of these drugs all together??? No way, it helps many, many people. They are NUTS!

Hope I made sense with my point... I havent taken my prozac yet.

  • I'm not sure there are many (living) Virginia Tech students who can even spell Scientology.

    By Anonymous, on 2:03 PM

  • if only the kid and his guns could've been let loose inside the main scientology HQ instead of vtech.

    By prettyboy, on 2:58 PM

  • This is the full press release from the cult here

    http://www.cchr.org/index.cfm/9027/19828

The Church hid and fought to keep hidden what happened to Elli Perkins as it would show the believers that Scientology is not the magical cure-all they repeat it is for "mental wellness". This cult is intent on eradicating all psychiatry, I know that sounds odd but they believe they are at "War" with them.

If you want to see more about their quite disturbing views looks for images for their "industry of death" exhibit. They blame psychiatrists for Hitler, 9-11 and pretty much anything under the sun. (what they do not tell you is that psyciatrists are supposedly, in Hubbard's writing, reincarnated evil souls)

And tommorow Tom Cruise will be having a fundraiser for his snake oil NY Detox project.

  • get your flame throwers ready kiddies... are you ready?... every religion on this planet, since forever, only cares about controlling you and getting rich from it... oh yeah, how does that relate to this story? say it with me: religious p.r. campaign.

    By Anonymous, on 4:12 PM

  • Sorry anon 4:12, but that is just a narrow view held by people who like to think of themselves as incredibly clever, forward thinkers. Cho Seung-Hui seemed on a rant against a particular religion (Christianity), too. Should I be making conclusions that you, apparently holding a grudge similar to his, are also a shooter? Obviously, the answer here is "no". Stop painting people and beliefs with broad, generalizing, brush-strokes.

  • Oh, and P.S. to Todd:

I like your "contact [FLAME]" portion of the comment. You crack me up e'ery day.

  • Hate $cientology but agree with the psychiatric drugs thing.
Psychiatric conditions are way over-diagnosed and way over-prescribed.
Too many doctors in bed with big pharma.
Watch for tobacco-sized lawsuits in the not too distant future.

    By Anonymous, on 5:12 PM

  • ^5:12, WTF?

    By Anonymous, on 6:33 PM

  • Religion is just philosophy which perhaps the only thing that seperates us from other animals: the simple fact we question our existence and it's purpose. Stop hating on real religions.

Also, while I agree psychiatric drugs are way over prescribed, psychiatrist are doctors and they serve a vital roles to society. I'm sure we'd have many more incidents like Virginia Tech without them.

    By Anonymous, on 6:38 PM

  • I used to think that all anti-psychiatrists were scientologists too. But then i took philosophical counselling class and realized that there are many well educated, non-scientologists who are critical of drugs to treat many disorders. I think scientology is Bull**** but, I am very critical of psychiatrists as well.

  • Antidepressants don't work unless people take them as prescribed. If people stop taking their meds without being weaned off of them gradually and miss doses, then people get psycho. Most of the problems with antidepressants isn't the drugs themselves, but people not taking them properly. It's safe to say that Virginia murderer was off his meds.

  • @anon 4:24: thank god, jesus is dead so i don't have to listen to that bastards' bullshit.

    By Anonymous, on 7:44 PM

  • People involved in shooting in the US all breathed air for a long time.

The ones involved in shootings in Russia too. And in Afghanistan. BTW, all the people involved in the Vietnam War breathed air at least once in their lives!

Think about that. That's a pretty strong argument for Al Gore's campaign for cleaner air.

    By Anonymous, on 8:25 PM

  • Psychiatric drugs cause you to marry women shorter than you and they also keep you from jumping up and down on couches.

    By Piquebu, on 8:51 PM

  • @anon 8:25: you make a very good point... so on behalf of al gore, myself, and jesus, i ask all you fat-american-cheeseburger-eating-walmart-shopping-mother-fuckers please stop sucking up all my clean air.

fuck man, what if jesus was a product of the modern world? like if he drove a 72 buick with no catalytic converter, smoked three packs a day, throwing his butts out the window with his cheeseburger wrappers, and after he got done blowing his mayo all over the chest of a heidi fleiss quality hooker? good god man, it would be the end of the world!

    By Anonymous, on 9:32 PM

  • (8:25 here)

    ROFL, 9:32.

And remember: that Jesus would be evil, he would probably breathe air between those packs!

  • Ebner ( http://hollywoodinterrupted.com )is a fantastic reporter. While all the other guys are snapping photos of nipple slips, he's uncovering real stuff.

    Good to see him here.

End rant, back to upskirt photos.

    By Anonymous, on 11:59 PM

  • 4:12, 7:44, nah, little ignorant bitties like you aren't worth flaming. It just proves that what you know about REAL religion was only what your fat, beerchugging, cat-molesting daddy taught you. ;)

8:25, therefore the Scientologists are insisting that everybody stop breathing now. They'd like us to try inhaling water from now on, because it promotes "wellness."

7:05, well, questioning is one thing. They're not questioning -- they're blindly condemning in a medically unsafe manner.

Yeah, there is a failure rate for psychiatrists, like any other medical profession -- it's like condemning heart surgery because some patients die during it. The majority of people who go nuts like this have simply gone off their meds, and the meds are basically the brain equivalent of insulin.

I'm not pretending that all results are fine and good -- I myself was the accidental victim of bad prescriptions, which worsened my problems. However, they've learned from their mistakes since then, and I don't pretend that my difficulties are symptomatic of everyone's reaction to the drugs. And I don't want other people to suffer needlessly just because I was given the wrong meds.

And I hope those Scienobots all burn in hell for trying to manipulate those poor students for their personal gain.
