Big Brother was never informed by the family of the death. It was only when an unnamed source informed the media of the father's death that Big Brother learnt of it. The family has repeatedly asked for their decision to be respected, and Emma's brother wrote a public letter asking for the public's support, and stating that Big Brother has been nothing but supportive of the family. Remember also that when people enter the house, they are asked to list 3 things that they wish to be informed of - and Emma was the only contestant not to list the death of a family member. A few years back, a contestant listed that she wished to be informed if her goldfish died... and they did! She cried for a week and was evicted!! That said, Emma is an unrelenting bitch and is one of the most repulsive people I've ever seen on Big Brother.
