If so many people are in an uproar about a CELEBRITY CASE that is handled in quite the same manner as many "regular" cases, perhaps its time to do something to change the mandatory sentencing LAWS, regardless of "celebrity status". As an aside, yes, I do believe that all are fair under the eyes of the law, and she should serve her sentence, but it would be interesting to find out how many other traffic offenders, major & otherwise are on home release in LA county.

  You should keep in mind this "traffic offense" actually happened while she was on parole, meaning it was a violation of her parole meaning that even "regular" people get to go directly to jail, do not pass Go and do not collect $200. The whole concept of parole is to help with the overcrowding in jails problem. It is made very clear when parole is handed out that violating *any* law will result in an immediate return to jail.

I guess seeing this narcissistic little twit getting some time for a flagrant abuse of her probation and then hearing from an apologist just doesn’t cut it in many corners. And I ask, if the judge didn’t send this defendant a very strong message, when do you think she would have started listening, after she did run someone down?
