Pete Doherty is the only male I can think of who is going through the same things Lindsay and Brit are going through. I suspect Nichole Richie is well on her way too. So, why is this such a strong trend in young Hollywood females? What is going on that the males aren't either hounded as the women are? Or is it that the men are just keeping it under wraps better?

As for why this is a strong trend in young females...
there's a "5 to 15" rule in recovery treatment. When drinking the same amount of alcohol, it takes a man 15 years to develop to the same point in his disease that it would take a woman only five years to develop. Drugs only compound the effects of the alcohol.
