I think she should would be ok if she washed maybe twice a month. That's how I wash mine. Not because I care for the environment, I just have really thick hair.

timers . That's a great use of resources there . . . because you couldn't just look at a clock or your watch. You need 30 timers. They must be made of twigs and rocks too right? and the courier that delivered them actually walked them over from the guy who made them. Brilliant!

Who's the gay paint huffer with her in the first photo?
Either that queer just huffed a can of fuschia Tremclad or he's been sucking down Appletinis since his mom put him off the teat......yikes.

Liberals are dumb.

joejoe,
read the last line in the post. It's Giorgio. And his Acqua fragrance gets my GF horny as hell.
By Pad Esnow, on August 7, 2007 23:58:57
Pad Esnow,
Thanks for the ID on Giorgio.
Like I'm supposed to know what Giorgio fuckin' Armani looks like...haha
I wouldn't know Calvin Klein or Vera Wang if they tried to punch me in the goddamn liver. ;)

I'm all for helping preserve the environment and everything, but goddamn, at least take a shower.
By anonymous, on August 8, 2007 02:05:21
If I was her husband, she'd be taking a lot of two-minute showers. And you can take that to the bank.

"Note to self: don't have sex with Cate Blanchett." ROFLMFAO!!!
By anonymous, on August 8, 2007 06:59:53
i didn't think it was possible for someone to be whiter than nicole kidman, but alas.....
By anonymous, on August 8, 2007 08:33:35
I don't know how big her house is but I'm preety sure the amount of water she uses is the last thing she needs to restrict to "aid" the environment. God, I hate these stupid, superficial, pseudo-hippie, nauseum inducing acts of fake caring.
Why not donate money to research groups attempting to find an alternative fuel source? But than you can't say stupid shit like this: "oh well if don't even take showers than you can give up your car right?"
By anonymous, on August 8, 2007 08:48:31
You don't actually need to wash your hair everyday.. it isn't even good for the health of your hair for many people. I think celebs are annoying too with their enviro lectures but this one makes sense, well at least more sense than Sheryl Crow and her 2 pieces of TP only.
By anonymous, on August 8, 2007 08:58:53
she's obviously behind cameron diaz. that skank has been avoiding showers and hair scrubbings for years.
By anonymous, on August 8, 2007 10:38:42
these "green" celebrities piss me off so much. our planet is fucked; get over it. let's just drive our SUV's and tell Jersey girls to keep on using Aquanet. it's a lost cause u fuckin hippies.
By Niecy, on August 8, 2007 11:45:48
"Now she's no longer washing her hair" isn't even proper English. There should be a "that" in there. Reads like a fake to me.
I'd still have sex with Cate. She is hot.
By Jen, on August 8, 2007 14:31:42
Cate Blanchett it's hot anyway, so she could never shower again and I wouldn't give a shit.
By Tony, on August 8, 2007 15:25:16
I agree with Tony. She's gorgeous. Fake story, too. And all you people yelling at the "liberals", "hippies", whatever - you sound really, really stupid. Perhaps sign up for a GED class or something.
By Huhwha, on August 8, 2007 16:07:58
what about all the fuel consumed as she jet-sets to Armani shows & movie sets...hippocritical rich (stinky) bitch!
By anonymous, on August 8, 2007 16:52:04
Unfortunately, it sounds completely plausible.
Environmental warrior, saving the planet with tap timers, in the front row at one of the most conspicuous displays of useless Western consumerism imaginable!
The human race is hard-wired to multiply and make life more comfortable. Hence, we’ve risen to the top of the food chain and fucked the environment in the process. It’s what we do!
Hats off to genuine greens toiling against a tidal wave of fossil-fuel driven “civilization”. It’s tough when you’re up against DNA fine-tuned by half a million years’ worth of evolution.
But celebrities doing their bit for [insert appropriate third world or environmental cause here] before heading back to their five-star life piss me off.

I believe the comment is referencing showers and maybe hair washing, not baths. It has been shown that a taking a bath uses less water than a shower. Try it, take a shower and plug the faucet to the bath if you have one and see how fast it fills up.
And she's one of the best actors out there. No crap on her private life, well except for her bathing habits, and she has proven she can carry a film. And her fashion style is incredible. If she's also trying to adapt her lifestyle to help the environment, kudos to her.
(Sorry usually most of the people on this site can die of disease as far as I am concerned, but she's classy.)

Here in Oz we have a really bad drought, our dams are almost dry! Thats the reason for the shorter showers, the situation is so bad our government is telling us to!! We're on strict water restrictions because levels are so low, so I don't think it's really fair to say its not helping, because here at the moment we're all having to do anything we can to save water. Cate coming out and saying she does do it, will only help more Aussies to save water, which is a great thing!

who gives a big fat fucking rat cock?
By metropolis, on August 9, 2007 21:56:49
Um...so?
It's actually BETTER for your hair not to wash it daily. You strip the natural oils from it. That being said, if your hair is 'boy short', it's a breeze to just quickly wash it.
My hair is all the way down to my butt...yeah, I'm not washing my hair every day. I do it 3 times a week and that is enough.
