I've lived in Florida my whole life and the average joe gets a license suspended for not paying a ticket, second offense drunk driving (no to mention $5k fine), and will go to jail for driving a suspended license. Going 20 over the limit will get you a $300 fine. You can't do whatever the fuck you want unless you have the money to pay a good lawyer.
The parents here should be hanging their head in shame - not for having a worthless idiot for a son (although they most likely are to blame for that) but the fact they've enabled this little shit to get away with this kind of thing. I'm guessing the kid did not buy the car he used to race with money he saved up from his summer job. They should have taken that car away from him the minute he started driving irresponsibly.
