When was the last time you shelled out 10 million to help random strangers? Yeah. I thought so.
-------------
I don't have 10 million to give anyone, but when was the last time YOU did some charity work? I don't go out and try and gain endless recognition for doing what I do to help just so people can pat me on the back and tell me what a wonderful person i am like these two douche bags. why not be like Hillary Duff who gives tons of money quietly to charity. she does it because she gives a fuck, not because it is good PR.
Bush is on his way out, so I don't really give a fuck about him. I just hate the Clintons!! A pair of fake-ass, rich, closet racist, white folk from Arkansas.
Hilary Duff is always in magazines in her couture...she does not donate quietly, either. She just does not wind up on this particular site.
Anyway, millions of dollars is a lot to shell out just for the sake of being a 'publicity whore.' I think they actually care about the causes they support. They have for a while now.
Besides, even if it is just for publicity...they could have pulled a page from the Britney Spears book and gotten it her way...but they are actually doing things that will benefit people's lives.
I'll start taking them seriously about their "deep" concerns regarding the environment as soon as they stop flying private jets around the globe. Hypocrites.

1) Closet racist [sic]? Bill Clinton is a closet racist? And you base that on...? The fact that they're white?
2) Hillary is from Illinois.
3) The Clinton Global Initiative has nothing to do with Hillary. Bill Clinton and a guy he met while on a Rhodes Scholarship, Ira Magaziner, head an international consulting firm that is redefining philanthropy by creating sustainable markets where problems can be solved not by charity but by the strength of the market. So far they've gone after AIDS in the Caribbean and Africa (clearly a racist thing to do) by creating a market where prices for drugs are forced down through sound market forces (as opposed to just buying it for them and walking away like traditional charity would do) global warming. Neither of them take a salary.
4) You don't care about Bush? How about his visit to Bob Jones University during his campaign? Until about two years ago, it was policy at Bob Jones to PROHIBIT inter-racial dating. How about his fellow Republican Ronald Regan announcing his candidacy in Philadelphia, Mississippi where civil rights atrocities took place. He was there to announce his support for states rights -- aka the states right to maintain segregation.
5) WARNING: UNSUPPORTABLE GENERALITY FORTHCOMING It's ignorant punks like you who drag political debate in this country to the level of 4th graders. And it sickens me.
Anything that brings more attention to the impoverished, the environment, the plight of children, or the worldwide failures in education is great as far as I'm concerned. I could care less about the baseless judgment calls people make about two individuals none of us know.
What great timing. Tax time is just around the corner.
By just around the corner, do you mean 7 months away or do you mean they just figured out in the month of September that giving money away was a good thing as opposed to say . . . February, which also would count towards tax time. Give me a break. Anything to be negative.
you just can't please some people. They do care about helping the world , especially angelina. She was at it before she got with Brad. I think it's great and don't know how anyone has the audacity to criticize them. I hate DIddy!!!!!!! Diddy is the worst of the worst when it comes to these "celebrities" which i hate to call his ass.
I have to agree with the posters who greet these gestures with cynicism. Charity is great, and everybody with the financial means should give to those causes they deem worthy. But I am one who is tired of celebrities putting themselves in the public eye to announce their latest feel-good effort to fix the problems of humanity. From Live 8 to the Live earth concerts and myriad other initiatives, celebrities seem to enjoy giving away lots of money (which they are most certainly not hurting for) and supporting causes, but only if they are able to be told how great they are for doing so. Most people give anonymously. Why not them?
I'm sorry but I don't see how demonstrating an interest beyond celebritards means I don't have a life.
Read about the Clinton Gobal Initiative (as soon as you're done oogling Britney's THO, of course) I challenge you to find something that is even remotely partisan -- or for that matter -- not worth thinking about.
Or carry on being an ignorant fool. Take comfort in knowing that there are people in this country thinking critically to solve global problems so that you can go on with your "freakin LIFE".
They're using their celebrity to bring attention to their cause and encourage other people to do the same. There's nothing wrong with that. I don't see your beloved Jennifer Aniston doing anything this charitable.
Angie was pretty bad on the podium. She fumbled her words and seemed distracted.
I prefer Inderjit Khurana who started 70 schools in India for poor homeless kids to attend on trains.
Brad and Angie aren't qualified to sit on committees and panels. Except if you want to hear about Angie meeting refugees in the camps. But I'd prefer to hear from the actual people in the actual countries that they are trying to help.
Brad is a douche and liar. Sorry. Don't care to hear from him. Didn't even listen to his "green" speech. He can give 100 billion dollars and I wouldn't care. He has no credibility and neither does his mistress.
Omg they're both saints. I mean they decided to give that money to charities rather than buy yet more clothes and jewellry that would only be worn once. Wow, and she thinks poverty is bad? I never thought of it like that. But now you point it out..maybe it is. That's given me a lot to think about. And just who thought she wasn't qualified to be on that committee? Clearly she knows a lot more about the world than us. Thank God Hollywood is as enlightened and moral as it is
Question: What's the difference between Angelina Jolie babbling on about poverty, and Paris Hilton going to Rwanda to babble on about poverty? One's a brunnette and the other is blonde. They're both just doing PUBLIC charity work to look good in PUBLIC.
Private contributions to the rebuilding effort are still beating the hell out of the federal/state contributions...
Brad and Angie aren't qualified to sit on committees and panels.
Hate to break it to you, but the majority of people who end up on committees and panels (civic committees, review panels, citizen boards, etc) aren't packing any sort of qualification. It's when they leave a committee with no more experience than when they joined that it is truly pathetic.

Everybody forgets when she was a married for 2 minutes to BB Thorton, and they wore vials of each others blood around there neck or how about her making out with her own brother. Why is she trying to adopt every homeless kid around the world instead of having one of her own? Oh! That's right, that would mean she would have to be pregnant, and she wouldn't dare be caught looking like that! These people are not the people that I want "morale" lessons from. People like this that give so much money to good causes and just happen to have a camera there to catch the moment of there kindness are media whores. I am glad they are hitching there wagon to Clinton it will fun to watch her and the Clintons go down in flames in 08! She is a shitty actress and she is just pissing all of Brads money away.
