Racism and/or ignorance is alive and well. My mother is white, father is black, I am fluent in spanish (school). I call myself black because that is how the world see/treats me.
I am against the use of the word "nigga" by fellow black folks. I am a big rap fan (however I'm 35 and the most of it is garbage now) and disagree with it's use in music as well.
What seems to be missed by most is the intent. Best example I can give off the top of my head would be if a girl called her best friend a whore/slut/bitch/etc there would be no intent to degrade unless she meant for it to. Bad words used without intent take on a different meaning. I don't agree with the use of the N word by anyone, however the intent is what I'm most concerned with. If a fellow black man said "what's up nigga" at the barbershop, I'm inclined to reply "how's it going." If a middle aged white guy with a sleeveless shirt with a mullet says "you are a nigger" I'd be inclined to have an issue.
Dog was not using the word to describe a black female, his use involved hatred, something that many whites seem to think went out with the 60's. I hope that the backlash continues to be furious, I also hopes he seeks help. I'm not convinced that someone his age can change such values however I would never hold out hope.

Regarding bounty hunters and firearms, I don't think Dog Chapman actually carries a gun at any time. If anyone does, you can bet that they aren't felons.
I like seeing people like Luster captured, but I am somewhat uncomfortable with the whole bounty hunter idea. They don't seem to be bound by many laws, or any laws.
