She's giving birth to a child and most people have unplanned pregnancies, (I think I've heard that half of all pregnancies are unplanned but I could be completely wrong) and I think for the most part they don't think of their child as of much of a burden as everyone on this page seems to make it out to be. You can be in favor of or against abortion, but frankly it should never reach that stage. Only the most devout Catholics don't use birth control: I was married to a Catholic woman for 13 years, and trust me, she and all her Catholic friends used birth control.
Any girl who asks can get the pill very inexpensively. Anyone who walks into a drugstore can walk out with a box of condoms for almost nothing.

As far as selling the story to OK magazine is concerned -- To be fair, the story was going to break sooner or later anyway, and this way, they at least get some control over what gets printed, and get paid for it.

See, I'm 43. They've had birth control pills for longer than I've been alive. A few weeks ago, I learned that condoms date back centuries.
And yet Jamie-Lynn (and in fact, a fair percentage of Western women) can't find the brains to avail themselves of modern technology. They can't remember to take the pill, and apparently in the heat of the moment, they can't be counted on to remember to take five seconds to put a condom on the guy.
You can be in favor of or against abortion, but frankly it should never reach that stage. Only the most devout Catholics don't use birth control: I was married to a Catholic woman for 13 years, and trust me, she and all her Catholic friends used birth control.
Any girl who asks can get the pill very inexpensively. Anyone who walks into a drugstore can walk out with a box of condoms for almost nothing.
To not have the brains to be able to do either one of these things is just plain STUPID.

i hope and pray that Nickelodeon removes her from their network. What types of role models are they trying to "advertise". Are they trying to announce to the children of this nation that it's ok to have sex, and why not have a kid while you're at it...!?!?!? wtf??? I'm a mother of 2 children that watch Nickeleon EVERYDAY!!! now I'm really not sure if I want to allow them to continue to watch them. I have both boy and a girl. And sure, I've seen other younger girls popping up pregnant and that's really sad. But those other girls are not on Nickelodeon as a role models to thousands/millions of girls.
It's hard being a parent. Period. They are not old enough to comprehend that. They don't understand the full description of parenthood. I've talked to with younger girls with infants, ranging from 13-16yrs of age, and about 90% of them thought that it's fun. If I talk to them again about 18 - 24months later, then they begin to slightly understand... of course, we(parents) know that's just the beginning ;)
It's just really messed up. And the funny thing is, ALL the young pregnant girls I know/met, they have "reckless" moms.. moms who are too busy worrying about themselves.. trash...
I hope she's ready for this....
And I hope Nickelodeon has the right mind to make the right decision about Jamie.

Ok seriously I am over this but I started playing the jamie and casey video (obviously her gay, pretend boyfriend and sperm donor so she won't have to break the news that the pregnancy was planned with her lesbian life partner) and cannot believe someone dug up "Weak" by SWV to play over that video. That was a great song from back in the day! k, I'm finished.

So, 15:04, your solution for the teenage pregnancy problem is to make someone unemployed simply because she got pregnant? I mean, I know she's 16, but for God's sakes!! Way to add to the staggering amount of young mothers who have to raise their children with incomes at or below the poverty line. 'Cause we all know this show is her only meal ticket.
