I really do not get how people can make assumptions about an entire performance based upon maybe 15 seconds of broken up dialog and scenes. The point of a trailer is to give you a general idea of what the movie is going to be about, not give you the full idea of what each and every actor's performance is going to be like.

What we have to really keep in mind is that every superhero's arch-enemies are reflections of themselves. If you notice, all of Batman's foes are insane. Crazy. Mentally unstable. The Joker is the worst of them, simply by virtue of the fact that he's got absolutely nothing superhuman about him. He's just a man, like you and me, but he's gone completely unhinged. He has literally no self-control, and because of this, he can do anything.
I think many of you don't remember the Nicholson performance. Jack Nicholson's Joker was quite menacing. This was why his performance was so lauded. Yes, there was plenty of camp to the performance--a la the Romero take we saw in the 60s show--but it was all underwritten with deep danger. You understood that this man's sense of humour was completely sick, that he was a dangerous and evil homicidal bastard who enjoys torture. He might be loony, but he is in complete control of what he is doing--which is murdering a whole bunch of innocents and treating it as a joke. The neo-noir cartoon was amazing. However, some of you seem to have forgotten just how campy the joker is in the cartoon. Mark Hammill and the writers take on the Joker was very similar to Nicholson's in the Burton film. I'm sure Heath will do fine. As for Maggie G (not to be confused with smokin' hot Asian actress/former porn star Maggie Q), I'll reserve judgement for when the film comes out. She isn't hot, but maybe she'll work...

Heath looks fucking warped. I would rather have a more disturbing villian for a batman movie than the joker Jack played, and it looks like he will do good job. I'm not one for camp, especially since it was verging on silly in burton's versions. Thats my opinion.

What we have to really keep in mind is that every superhero's arch-enemies are reflections of themselves. If you notice, all of Batman's foes are insane. Crazy. Mentally unstable. The Joker is the worst of them, simply by virtue of the fact that he's got absolutely nothing superhuman about him. He's just a man, like you and me, but he's gone completely unhinged. He has literally no self-control, and because of this, he can do anything.
That is scary.

I think many of you don't remember the Nicholson performance. Jack Nicholson's Joker was quite menacing. This was why his performance was so lauded. Yes, there was plenty of camp to the performance--a la the Romero take we saw in the 60s show--but it was all underwritten with deep danger. You understood that this man's sense of humour was completely sick, that he was a dangerous and evil homicidal bastard who enjoys torture. He might be loony, but he is in complete control of what he is doing--which is murdering a whole bunch of innocents and treating it as a joke.
The neo-noir cartoon was amazing. However, some of you seem to have forgotten just how campy the joker is in the cartoon. Mark Hammill and the writers take on the Joker was very similar to Nicholson's in the Burton film.
I'm sure Heath will do fine. As for Maggie G (not to be confused with smokin' hot Asian actress/former porn star Maggie Q), I'll reserve judgement for when the film comes out. She isn't hot, but maybe she'll work...
