Oh, genetic info: because Iceland was isolated for so long, a lot of the people have similar features: WAAAAY distant past, similar ancestors. In fact, genetic researchers often do studies up in Iceland because of how many variables are automatically cut out by the genetic similarities. I know the Iceland pop. is pretty homogenous, if that's the right term; scientists do lots of gene studies there. But, I thought most Icelanders were blond, fair people, not with dark hair and Asian features like Bjork.

yup! they're all psyched about the genes studies... my horse instructor was really excited about the exposure [and she had brown hair, btw] lots of blondes, but some dark hair too... I would say 65-35 with some redheads sprinkled in [sure there were redheaded vikings, but that's gotta be the irish genes] In iceland I saw lots of eyes like Bjork's - that same elfin, twinkly hooded quality- in blue, green, hazel & brown. I suspect Nordic & Slavic eyes on a whole have evolved that way to combat those intense northern winds. Proximity has alot to do with it too as far as that 'asian' look too tho...
