He does the things I'd like to be able to do but can't because I'm flat ass broke. He deserves the outrageous, A-list, movie star wealth he has because he works hard on the set (rumor has it) and he does this kind of thing. I think it is the mark of a really good person that he A( does this and B) doesn't call the paps and Entertainment Tonight to draw attention to it.
Cruise would have called a press conference, arrived late, stayed for 20 minutes, spent 2 minutes time with one orphan for photo ops, and had one of those giant cardboard checks made out with his name signed in embossed gold.

Johnny is a really nice person especially to fans. It's nice to see a celebrity that is actually grateful to the people that gave him his success. I also like the fact that he turned down so many big roles to do things that are artistically relevant. Ed Wood is one of my all time favorite movies.

He could have easily made a truly anonymous donation, and none of us would have known. Depp rocks...pure and simple. He had his wild and crazy days (trashing his hotel room?) but he GREW up and became a decent human being. I just saw Vanessa Paradis on a french television show-she has a new album out and Depp did the artwork (a portrait of her) for the cover. All his ex's and his wife look the same-that's his taste-who cares? We all have a "type"...or most of us anyways. He's not MY type looks wise-but you can't help love him.
