Why'd you drop Percocet and Vicodin from that list? They're listed first on the actual report. They're not drugs used to treat insomnia, obviously, so that wasn't the only thing going on.

Acute intoxication? Isn't that what happens when you feed a kitten a glass of beer? Get it? A CUTE INTOXICATION!? Wakka wakka....all week, veal, tips, ect...
Many MANY sites around the world are reporting that "Heath Ledger died from an accidental overdose". THAT'S NOT TRUE.
"Intoxication by the combined effects of prescribed medications" means exactly what it's supposed to mean: it's not a lot of stuff (OVERdose), it's the quality of what he's taken. It's pretty much like alcohol and psychoactive medication, when you don't need much to get high. The combination does the job, not the amount.
Now I'm more pissed off than if it would've been ruled an actual suicide. Mixing so many meds isn't accidental. Actually some would see it as suicidal behavior. Good job that your drugs meant more to you than your daughter. Dumb Ass.
It happens when you don't know you can't mix all that stuff. Or when you're kinda out because of the two or three you take first, and then take the others without knowing better. All in all, two accidental possibilities.
Gotta agree with 11:12:59--you'd have to be a complete moron to take all of that crap at the same time and think it wouldn't kill you. The sleeping pills I could maybe see, if he was in fact struggling with insomia, but what's up with the Oxycodone and Hydrocodone?? What were they prescribed for, exactly? Did he have a kidney stone the size of an avocado working its way down his ureter? Those are serious narcotics, not "sleeping pills".
Unless he is a complete retard with an i.q. of 43, this guy deliberately killed himself. "Oh, it was the *combination*," says his dad. Hell of a combination. Next time you want to accidentally kill yourself with a "combination", Heath Ledger, try fiber pills, Swedish Fish, Tylenol, m & m's, and Necco wafers along with your Xanax, and see how dead that gets you. Stupid bastard.
Not exactly surprising, but still very sad. I'm presuming this was an ongoing problem he had and he'd probably been mixing drugs for years....... I'm still not convinced it was intentional. Incredibly stupid, yes, but not intentional. Taking that amount of drugs most likely left him with no judgement whatsoever - it was a sad mistake.
Restoril is a mother of a sleeping pill all on its own. Add even ONE of those benzos he popped and you're cutting logs. I read somewhere he was also using Lunesta, though that was only one source. Come on, you don't need opiates to fall asleep after all that other stuff. He either has the world's stupidest doctor or he's the world's stupidest insomniac or he fuckin' killed himself on purpose, and that's all there is to it. Especially since they didn't find coke or other stimulants (or are at least not telling). Trust me, even a THIRD of that combination would put a hippopotamus to sleep. Or maybe Amy Winehouse, even.
Yeah, you can totally tell if someone's a good dad by looking at a photograph. Judging by pic #2 he was also a good grandson, a so-so nephew, and a sub-par cousin.
Hey, jackass (14:41:48), I said he looked like a good dad. And that hid daughter would miss him. Even dads that suck are missed by their children when they die.
Perhaps it wasn't suicide OR an accident. How often do we hear now about kids getting into their parents' medicine cabinets and taking left-over prescription narcotics to get high? Prescription meds are the new cocaine/heroine/glue/whatever other household item teens use to get their fix.
Hopefully prescriptions meds won't be more restricted by the people who need them because of people who abuse them like Heath Ledger. He was a talented, great actor, but there is such a thing as anxiety and it is real. Heathe ledger did say he could "die happily", now that he could live on through his daaughter. Sure he may have back-pedaled after that statement, saying he wanted to be there for every part of her life. That was still a suicidal statement. Who says that when they have a child?
These FDA approved drugs are killing folks left and right, people beware of FDA approved drugs also rapper pimp C (don't know who the hell he was) but he also died from cough syrup. I threw out all the damn childrens cough syrup. Anna Nicole was killed by FDA drugs. while Heath took a lethal combo that killed him, it still stands Americans need to beware of FDA approved drugs. as a former nurse I have seen routine prescribed drugs kill many. the FDA is the biggest drug pusher in America hooking millions on their legal drugs along with their diabolical doctors, head shrinks who sit down and come up with bogus diagnosis and so called illness to hook millions of adults, children's and pets on their dope. these drugs do more harm than good. wester medicine is a joke and does not cure diseases they treat symptoms and use doctors to push dangerous meds and inoculations on the unsuspecting and ignorant public who turn over their health to rouge prostitutes for the their pimps and drugs pushers the FDA. wake up people and seek holistic ways to treating what ails you, whole foods, raw diet, meditation and exersize will cure 99% of illness. the standard American diet, coffee and sugar is killing people left and right, the food has no nutritional value which cause a host of illness in the long and short term, your doctor will not do a blood test to see what critical nutrients you are missing, they will just write you a script for depression. wake up!! your medical doctors, government are killing you via experimentation!!!
I felt sorry for him when I heard the news of his death. Now that we know what killed him I couldn't care less. Another druggie we don't have to deal with. Also a big FU to the doctor who prescribed all this shit to him.
Pimp C did not die from cough syrup. "Syrup" is slang for a mix of drugs I wouldn't know anything about.
Heath said in that Entertainment Tonight video that he used to smoke 5 joints a day for 20 years. If he'd stuck to marijuana to treat his anxiety and sleeplessness - rather than taking Restoril, Unisom, Xanax, and Valium - he'd still be alive today. Marijuana is a safe medicine!
this is what happens when one becomes unattached to their own body and doesn't know how to treat it. sorry to sound like a hippie dippy wacko, but it's true. if you don't know what you're putting in, it's easy to misuse. like taking too much nyquil- you try to treat symptoms of something you know nothing about and end up using the wrong thing. in heath's case, things.
one doctor at a time, eh? maybe that would have saved him.
These FDA approved drugs are killing folks left and right, people beware of FDA approved drugs
islandgirl please shut the fuck up, because if you really were a nurse you would know that the majority of the drugs he took--percocet, vicodin, xanax, valium--are among the SAFEST drugs on the market. the trouble is that, like a halfwit, he took a fuckton too many of all of them and hence the dying part. don't blame the drug, blame the dummy.
if you want to worry about drugs worry about shit like mirapex which, as they even mention on the commercial can make you have 'uncontrollable gambling or sexual urges' or some shit like vioxx which has ambulance chasers and doctor-suing types up in arms because in its PRESCRIBED dosage it was killing people.
as for pimp c he was drinking a combination of shit, as usual. syrup is all kinds of crap mixed together. hey! just like what heath did! mix a bunch of shit together!
I may be writing comments that have already been written, but many people would know that that is a lethal combination, not accidental unless you were so out of your mind that you did not know what you had already taken - which is a distinct possibility. His doctors should be held accountable for prescribing all of these medications at once. I take an anti-anxiety medication and an anti-depressant (there's your audience Todd and Jenny! :) but I know what is what and not to mix these meds, because they are STRONG, with any others. The anti-anxiety/anti-depressant meds should have made him sleep, if that's what he wanted....anything else was, I think, deliberate. I don't take pleasure in writing this, but there it is. It may have been accidental, but only if he was so out it that he forgot what he took earlier.
Take three anti-anxiety meds (xanax, valium, ativan) and see if you give a shit about feeding your oxycodone and vicodin habit after your regiment of lunesta and a restoril (holy CRAP) for nighty-nights.
Robot, that is stupid. Pimp C died from an overdose of cough syrup. He died mainly because the medicine slowed down his breathing and he had sleep apnea, which lead to his death. There is no "syrup" slang.
Islandgirl: YES! But people love their drugs though. They just want to pop a pill and have everything be OK. Living healthy, eating right and using holistic methods of treatment takes too much time, energy and discipline. People don't want or don't have time to take responsibility for their health in the way you say, unfortunately. We are all prisoners of our jobs and the bills that come every month.
So Robot - because he died of a drug overdose (no surprise), his death doesn't matter? Maybe not to you but it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to his loved ones. I think it makes it worse that he was taken away because of a stupid mistake. But then I'm not a right wing conservative with zero compassion for anyone else. Thank God.
Well, IslandGirl is partially right. Children's cough syrup doesn't work and it ain't good for the little bastards. I don't give it to my kids. I just grease the little buggers up with Vapo Rub and stick a vapourizer in their room at night.
The only thing kid's cough syrup is good for is making a Flaming Moe. Tho I'm having a hard time finding Krusty Brand in the stores so I've been using NyQuil. Works just about as good, I think.
(Yes, I'm joking about the last part. Y'all don't need to get your red panties in a twist)
It's hilarious when the Scientologists try to comment on websites like this. They stick out like sore thumbs because they're the biggest nonsense talking idiots in the place. They're worse than the "I'd hit it." and "First" commenters.
Overdosing on VITAMINS can kill you too, "islandgirl"! Shut the fuck up and go give the "church" more money you don't have so you can reach those OT levels and find out what the rest of us already know about your cult's "secrets".
He obviously knew his way around drugs, but I still don't think he committed suicide. He probably was just out of it and lost track of what he was taking. While I thought his family's statement was touching, they are in major denial when they say the meds weren't taken in excess. He had 6 drugs in his system. Whether you take over the dosage of each one or take one of each together, it still amounts to excess. Plus, he was probably snorting the oxycontin, hence the residue on the rolled up 20 that tested negative for illegal substances.
Hey, I'm an old fashioned atheist who tossed Catholicism away like a used hooker -- and I still agree with IslandGirl for the most part. Clean living, avoiding chemicals. Our bodies are strong without drugs. I mean, the human race didn't survive for this long without Ativan.
Well, I still need my Xanax during the day and my Restoril at night to make it through the week. Like someone mentioned above I've got a job to do and a lot of fucktards to keep my patience with, and bills to pay. I do manage to make it to the gym daily, so it hasn't ruined my life. It has ENRICHED my life (Island Girl) Can't just take off to some Island and live off of raw food though IT MUST BE NICE. Hope abusers like Heath don't spoil my sanity for me. Oh, and may he rest in peace.
She-nonymous, you make no sense. I'm sure you wanted to say "the human race DID survive for this long without the need of Activan", but you're too stupid to use the right words.
Also, you're even more stupid if you believe that "the human body is a perfect machine". If it were, we wouldn't have lupus, Down, diabetes, cancer and many other body malfunctions that happen naturally. Our chemistry is pretty complex, it can get crazy or be ill-conceived from the moment you are just a bunch of cells. We do need the help of many drugs to make it properly functional, most of the times, in one moment or another.
Now get your "I'm not a Catholic, but..." and the scientologist nonsense and get the fuck out of here. Or out of this world. We thank you.
Wow, anonymous 1:14, are you just *now* able to afford an Internet connection? You sound like those early adopter-type trolls who were overwhelmed by the power they felt while masturbating surreptitiously at their keyboards to downloads of Alyssa Milano.
Down? Now get your and the and get the . . . what? And you forgot to capitalize 'Scientologist'? Who's stupid now?

11:00 - so, he took the dosage recommended on the prescription? Kinda doubt it.
By anonymous, on February 6, 2008 11:21:06
Quite true, 11:00 and 11:12. And just to further emphasize the point let's add that the medical examiner said (and I quote):
"We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the ABUSE of prescription medications."
Not mis-use. AB-use. Nothing really accidental about it, is there?

I threw out all of my maple syrup after reading about Pimp C. I thought he died from syrup chugging, like in Super Troopers...

By She-nonymous, on February 8, 2008 10:58:33
Maybe you need the help of drugs, but I don't. And cancer? Lupus? Mental retardation?
That's just nature's way of weeding people like YOU out of the human race.

Yikes...she-nonomous is Hitler. Or Eva Braun, more likely. Crazy hearing that kind of stuff in 21st century America.
By J-Bird, on February 9, 2008 15:57:08
Well, 21st century America still has the Phelps, and I guess we're just witnessing one of them babbling here.
She-nonymous, please, shoot yourself in the head, already.

Here we go - with all of your negative comments on Heath - I'm glad you all leave in glass houses. Wow who had any idea the world had perfect people.
By anonymous, on February 28, 2008 18:44:40
*live* in glass houses. At least I admit I'm not perfect.
