  2. We all have deaths in our family, and they're all sad. Move on, nothing to see here.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 16:50:12

  3. Yeah, that's terribly sad. But I just lost my mom a few weeks ago, so I'm afraid my own grief eclipses my sadness for Ledger's daughter.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 17:06:57

  4. Jez lady, what the fuck are you talking about? No wonder he took drugs until his heart stopped. Michelle Williams is hot, but not hot enough that I'd be willing to listen to that shit every time I wanted to see my kid. Listening to her talk like that is probably the reason he started taking drugs in the first place.

    By thebig28, on February 1, 2008 17:10:46

  5. We're generally pretty mean and lighthearted around here, but we're sorry for your loss, anonymous 17:06. We hope you find some comfort in laughter.

    Smooches,

    Jenny

By Jenny (and Todd), on February 1, 2008 17:12:41

  6. Talking to trees? Damn that kid is already smoking Heath's stash.

By Jerry Garcia, on February 1, 2008 17:14:36

  7. So sorry for your loss, 17:06.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 17:22:59

  8. 17:06 - Thank you for putting this all into perspective. I'm very sorry for your loss.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 17:33:14

  9. Everyone has tragedy in life. My heart breaks for her and her daughter.

    17:06--my condolences.

    By Laurie, on February 1, 2008 17:48:35

  10. She's really pretty.

    By T, on February 1, 2008 18:00:45

  11. I hope she'll be loved and protected even without her dad....so sad.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 18:09:34

  12. thebig28-I'm sure your real successful in your relationships as well.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 18:13:15

  13. Nice rack.

    By Val, on February 1, 2008 18:13:51

  14. I'll give her a break on this cause she just lost someone she really cares about but my god that was jumbled and made no fucking sense.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 18:21:56

  15. (maybe not intended for publication, but...)

Hey, you guys hear about the Spice Gammies cancelling their tour in Latin America and many other places? They're saying it's for personal reasons of each member and stuff, but that totally smells like ticket fiasco.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 18:49:25

  16. I love that that little angel whispers to trees. How unbelievably adorable are children? Sweetness.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 19:19:53

  17. Kids are sweet. At least she's witnessed her little girl doing these things. Britney's nannies are the only ones seeing things like this.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 19:28:35

  18. I feel for her. She did everything in her power to save the love of her life, but ultimately put her daughter first. Not an easy thing to do. And not going to be easy to live with it. I thought her words were sweet and tender. I'm kind of shocked so many of you felt they were annoying.

    By kellygrrrl, on February 1, 2008 19:34:35

  19. Kelly, how do you KNOW she "did everything in her power to save the love of her life"? You're either a retard or destined to write romance novels for fat Middle American wives who've become disenchanted with Oprah.

    By She-nonymous, on February 1, 2008 20:02:48

  20. what a beautiful thing to say. perfectly written.
    how very sad.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 20:04:34

  21. Those sunglasses are gay. Good riddance to douche rubbish.

    By She-nonymous., on February 1, 2008 20:11:53

  22. 17:06 Sorry for your loss.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 20:14:35

  23. That's SO weird. I was thinking of Paige Davis just an hour or so ago.

    By quoipourquoi, on February 1, 2008 20:28:40

  24. How much did she love him if he was off and about with every chick under the sun after they separated? Surely her heart was broken before this tragedy.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 20:53:05

  25. It's a terrible loss, I feel awful about his death.

Such a waste of a burgeoning talent.

That poor little girl, she will never know her dad.

    By anonymous, on February 1, 2008 21:22:12

  26. I thought it was touching. The two steps at a time comment made it seem very sincere.

    By Victoria, on February 1, 2008 21:53:08

  27. Matlida does look just like him. It's the eyes. Wow. Also - 17:06, deeply sorry for your loss. :o(

    By TrayC, on February 1, 2008 22:26:01

  28. I hope for the sake of his child that Heath's autopsy doesn't confirm he was a drug addict.

    By anonymous, on February 2, 2008 01:09:01

  29. I hope for the sake of his child that Heath's autopsy doesn't confirm he was a drug addict.

    By 01:09:01

His drug addictions were already known. Proof?

  30. ...thanks for playing what? dickhead.

    By anonymous, on February 2, 2008 07:21:27

  31. WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE SO DAMN MEAN?,THAT WAS A BEAUTIFUL STATEMENT MICHELLE MADE.HE WAS THE FATHER OF HER DAUGHTER.GOD BLESS HER AND HER FAMILY.HE WILL BE MISSED.WHAT A GREAT ACTOR.STAY STRONG.

    By anonymous, on February 2, 2008 08:25:51

  32. I'm 17:06 and damn, I'm touched by all of your very thoughtful condolences. Really, it may sound trite, but coming from a bunch that can get really mean about this kind of stuff, it does mean a lot. Thank you.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled vitriol.

    By anonymous, on February 2, 2008 11:05:28

  33. I hate Paige Davis. She can stuff it.

    By anonymous, on February 2, 2008 12:37:30

  34. 17:06 - my condolences.

    By J-Bird, on February 2, 2008 13:48:33

  35. Nice tits.

    So, she's single now, right?

    By JAC, on February 2, 2008 14:34:59

  36. What's the difference between Heath Ledger and Heath Ledger jokes?

Heath Ledger jokes will get old.

    By twinky, on February 2, 2008 14:38:08

  37. "What's the difference between Heath Ledger and Heath Ledger jokes?

Heath Ledger jokes will get old."

So will assholes like you, unfortunately.

    By Laurie, on February 2, 2008 15:20:49

  38. Not if I get my hands on him.

By Big Gay Al, on February 2, 2008 15:23:31

  39. What a lot of people forget is that Michelle went after him with a vengeance and probably tricked him into knocking her up.

So, sentimentality aside, what we have here is a bunch of amoral people bringing babies into the world, out of fear, out of panic, out of lust, out of ambition, but never out of stable, loving commitment.

Instead of fearing for Matilda's future you should fear for yours.

    By anonymous, on February 2, 2008 16:48:55

  40. I'm impressed by how articulate Michelle Williams turned out to be.

    By oakling, on February 2, 2008 17:19:09

  41. Michelle's tribute to Heath was very loving and sincere. I wish her all the best for her future and her daughter's.

As always - lovely to see how fucking hideous people can be towards a grief stricken girl and her baby daughter.

    By Samantha, on February 3, 2008 06:52:46

  42. I thought the sentiment was beautiful. Having lost my dad when I was very young, I love it when someone tells me that I exhibit some quality that reminds them of him.

And condolences, Anon 17:06. I'm impressed by some people's sentiments on here. May go cry a bit myself from the warmth.

    By anonymous, on February 3, 2008 07:25:06

  43. Oh, that awful Mchelle Williams, forcing innocent, trusting Heath Ledger into sticking his unwitting penis in her without a condom! She is obviously pure evil!

Where do you get this crap,16:48:55?? And why should we "fear for our own lives"? Are you planning to post flaming horseshit about the rest of humanity too? If so, for the record, I have not had occasion yet to force any naive actors into putting their penises in me so I could trick them into being stuck with a kid, hence making them want to kill themselves. Consequently, by your terms, I don't have to walk the earth fearing for my own life. Phew! Dodged that bullet!

By shut up, dumbass, on February 3, 2008 15:39:27

  44. Usually I don't let comments on sites like these get to me - because I do find this and the Superficial moderately funny - but some of the comments here are truly disgusting.

It was a lovely, articulate and eloquent statement about Heath's memory living on through his daughter. So why the vitriol? Is is necessary? Are your lives any more enriched by it? Have some *class*. Michelle certainly has enough for all of us combined.

    And my sympathies 17:06.

    By Jen, on February 3, 2008 17:31:37

  45. That was really funny, Twinkie. I almost peed in my pants.

    By anonymous, on February 3, 2008 23:29:04

  46. @17:31 Um, what "vitriol"? The vast majority of comments were very sympathetic. The only vitriol I see is coming from you.

Maybe you should actually read the comments before letting them "get" to you.

    By Jen's non-existant brain, on February 4, 2008 01:36:27

  47. This may be the nicest thread in the history of comment threads on this site. I am rather impressed actually.

    By anonymous, on February 4, 2008 06:43:01

  48. 1:36 - read the post before you comment. I said, *SOME* of the comments. Like:

"Jez lady, what the fuck are you talking about? No wonder he took drugs until his heart stopped. Michelle Williams is hot, but not hot enough that I'd be willing to listen to that shit every time I wanted to see my kid. Listening to her talk like that is probably the reason he started taking drugs in the first place.

"Those sunglasses are gay. Good riddance to douche rubbish.

"What's the difference between Heath Ledger and Heath Ledger jokes?

Heath Ledger jokes will get old.

    By twinky, on February 2, 2008 14:38:08"

    So.

I was commenting on *some* of the things said here. Maybe you should have read exactly what I wrote before pretending to be my brain -- and by the way, spelling "existent" wrong. Which I would never do.

    FAIL.
