  1. This is one of the saddest things I've heard in a long time. There are many in Hollywood that I wouldn't feel particularly bad for, but Patrick is not one of them. God Bless You, Patrick Swayze.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 15:10:10

  2. Wow. How come the good people have to go in the most painful way possible? How awful for him and his family.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 15:12:15

  3. That's strange. My grandfather had pancreatic cancer and he lived with it for years taking pills etc. Guess some forms of it are more virulent than others. That's too bad. 55 is too young to have to go.

    By Fred, on March 5, 2008 15:12:51

  4. Noooooooooooo, this is too sad!!

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 15:15:10

  5. Not true. although his publicist confirmed he has pancreatic cancer, his timeline is false.

Poor Patrick. people with pancreatic cancer don't live long. less than a year I think. I loved his movies and always thought he was very good looking.

    By Prettyboy, on March 5, 2008 15:18:36

  6. Man thats too bad, I wonder if he has his bucket list.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 15:20:22

  7. Well, his ghost better not try to fuck my girlfriend during pottery class...or I'll kill him. Oh, wait.

    By J-Bird, on March 5, 2008 15:24:03

  8. ok its the national enquirer, they say everyone is dying every couple of weeks. its pretty sad but hopefully he has more time than 5 weeks.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 15:28:05

  9. ok its the national enquirer, they say everyone is dying every couple of weeks. its pretty sad but hopefully he has more time than 5 weeks.

  10. Saddest news I've heard all day. This sucks. I love Patrick Swayze, and no one was hotter than Johhny Castle. Sad, sad, sad.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 15:35:49

  11. TMZ states that Patrick does have pancreatic cancer, but that he is responding well to treatment, so as usual, the Enquirer has half the story right and fabricated the rest.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 15:42:49

  12. At first I thought that the dude who starred in "Roadhouse" and "Red Dawn" could never fall victim to something like cancer, but then I remembered that he's also the dude from "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" so I'd say his odds are 50/50.

    By thebig28, on March 5, 2008 15:56:17

  13. The star of freakin' Red Dawn has five weeks to live, but STDs haven't melted Paris Hilton's brain yet. Yeah, that seems fair. Thanks life.

That's because Paris Hilton is at least a quarter cockroach.

Sucks about Swayze. My mom loves his movies.

    By Abram, on March 5, 2008 15:58:42

  14. How awful...my mother just died of pancreatic cancer. What a horrible, painful way to go. My heart truly goes out to him and his family.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 16:01:14

  15. This proves there is no God, if there was it would be Hohan or Shitney dying of cancer.

    By Trax, on March 5, 2008 16:06:21

  16. He was hilariously corrupt in Donny Darko. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.
My grams died of pancreatic cancer. I don't think anyone survives that particular cancer. I'm very sorry to hear this and hope the Enquirer is simply full of shit.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 16:28:02

  17. Most people with pancreatic cancer live for less than a year after their initial diagnosis. If he has closer to a year rather than 5 weeks, that's better, but still just awful.

I remember seeing him again a few years back in "Donnie Darko" and hoping to see him in more movies again after that.

He's been married to the same woman for decades, by all accounts he's a decent guy who doesn't get into trouble and he's been in a handful of great movies. Yup, more proof that life just isn't fair.

    By Hyperbole, on March 5, 2008 16:31:07

  18. What a drag. I loved as hot big brother Daryl in "The Outsiders."

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 16:39:31

  19. yup.... pancreatic cancer is one of the most incurable types of cancer.. and it is painful.

seen it.... too bad for him....hopefully he doesnt suffer much

    By matt, on March 5, 2008 17:07:30

  20. That sucks...he was always the tough, older brother type guy. You just don't think of anything happening to him that he can't beat. Seriously, why can't it be Paris instead? Well, he'll always be a bad ass on film. Wolverines!

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 17:22:11

  21. I'd just like to point out that this doubly sucks since Jeff Healy just died.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 17:27:54

  22. I haven't met any bad people that died or suffer from cancer yet. The good people die or suffer, the bad stay alive and float.

    By BlueMak, on March 5, 2008 17:44:12

  23. God bless Patrick

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 18:44:42

  24. I have to agree this is quite sad but then you have to look on the bright side people, at least it's not me.

By That cancer ridden guy, on March 5, 2008 19:07:51

  25. God bless you, Patrick. That's unfair but I feel sure you won't give up this fight. And yeah, there's probably no God, as we check out every single day.

    By Benoît, on March 5, 2008 19:41:06

  26. He's the Swayziest and I'm SO fucking sad.

    By slit-your-wrists for Swayze, on March 5, 2008 19:41:55

  27. If he is taking chemo instead of being one of the lucky ones who identified pancreatic cancer soon enough for surgery (the whipple procedure) things are not looking good for him at all. My dad had pancreatic cancer, and passed away after 18 months of fighting. 18 months is considered a long time to live with this terrible disease. It was very tough. My heart goes out to Patrick and his family.

By Miss Ada, on March 5, 2008 19:43:26

  28. People Mag spoke to his reps, and they refuted the NatEnq article, stating that his prognosis was good, and he was responding to treatments. Still, he is sick, but we may have him longer than the article implied.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 19:53:43

  29. maybe paris could donate her pancreas to him...

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 20:10:15

  30. Mr. Red Dawn. Mr. Dirty Dancing. Mr. Patrick-Farkin'-Swayze. An icon of the 80's. This is the saddest of news.

I was waiting for him to be on Dancing with the Stars and wipe the floor with the competition. I grew up watching him in movies.

I will light a candle in his honor..in the hopes that the next 2 rounds of chemo might help..and in the hopes that he lives years instead of only 5 weeks. Bless you and your loved ones.

    By cinco, on March 5, 2008 20:55:40

  31. That is sad.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 21:25:35

  32. Why couldn't God take one of the lesser of the Hollywood so called stars? *cough* Britney, Paris, many Jessica's, and the Yankees *cough*. Patrick will be missed. Ashes to ashes dust to dust everyone dies they must they must. ROADHOUSE BITCH!

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 22:03:52

  33. This absolutely sucks. By all accounts, Patrick Swayze is a good dude, loves his wife & isn't a media whore. This article writer is right on the money; good people like him are cut down by disease, while dumbass cum burping pieces of white trash like pearASS, SLUTney & WHOREhan continue to live. Life definitely is NOT fair...

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 22:47:39

  34. I'll be praying for his recovery. Miracles do happen.

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 23:09:33

  35. God bless ya' pal. You will be missed.

    By ahhnuld, on March 5, 2008 23:13:13

  36. WOLVERINES!!!!!...........we love him. Get well!

    By anonymous, on March 5, 2008 23:49:29

  37. Patrick Swayze is like the straightest male ballet dancer ever to have walked the planet. Why the fuck does this have to happen to him and not the pathetic morons we see on this site everyday? Not that I wish cancer on anyone...

    By lala, on March 6, 2008 00:35:30

  38. I was sadden today about this news I remember when Micheal Ladden had past from the same disease at the same age. I know we all will go one ay but 55 is still a young age. Patrick we all love you give it the fight. Os

    By anonymous, on March 6, 2008 00:44:17

  39. My father was riding his bike 40 miles a day and then passed away less than 3 months later. Pancreatic cancer is a cruel and painful way to die. I hope he does have longer than 5 weeks but if he's been in treatment for a while and they're letting the news out, chances are it's spread and he doesn't have much time left.

    By anonymous, on March 6, 2008 04:46:20

  40. Tough luck!

    By anonymous, on March 6, 2008 06:22:17

  41. God bless you Patrick! You're in my thoughts and prayers:)

    By anonymous, on March 6, 2008 08:04:07

  42. He is Patrick Fucking Swayze and I'm sure he is the fucking best and beating the shit out of cancer, doesn't matter what cancer, but he will beat the ever loving shit out of it.

Not only that, people near him who have cancer are cured, the shit gets scared and just runs right out there ass.

These people think they shit them selves, truth is they were cured. By who you ask? Patrick Motherfucking Swayzee, that's who.

    By Zilor, on March 6, 2008 10:06:47

  43. "Most people with pancreatic cancer live for less than a year after their initial diagnosis."

even shorter a lot of times... hell my grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer (directly related to smoking, of course) and was dead within six months of being diagnosed and thats supposdely more treatable than pancreatic...

    sad.

    By anonymous, on March 6, 2008 10:32:34

  44. I met Patrick in a Chicago blues bar about 20 years ago. Didn't know who he was then (he was just starting to get to the heights of his career), he was just hanging out listening to music. We talked for about 20 minutes about different artists & records, then he had to leave. The bartender ran over to me & said "Don't you know who that is? It's Patrick Swayze". Didn't for one minute occur to me that he was a hollywood type; he seemed totally down to earth & cool.

I'm sorry to hear that he's that sick, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that he gets well soon.

    By anonymous, on March 6, 2008 15:05:54

  45. Shit. That is... so, so sad.

    God bless you Patrick.

  46. Wrong guy (again), God.

Why not Brandon Davis or the Hilton girl or even the Lohan girl????

By Joe Mahma, on March 6, 2008 19:09:19

  47. This is truly upsetting news, he seems like such a nice person and like others have stated he isn't a stereotypical hollywood narcissist/jerk-off. Why couldn't it be that GUMMIbear moron Paris Hiltion hangs around with? Now there is a waste of space no one will miss.

Godspeed Patrick, we're praying for a miracle cure.

By God sucks sometimes, on March 7, 2008 11:40:30

  48. OMG, dood. that is so f*cking sad. i just cant believe that. wow. that's so f*cked up! im really upset. that dood RULES!!!!!!!!! seriously, man. why not give that shit to someone actually deserving like courtney love? that's just f*cked up, God. Give the guy a break, c'mon. please??? :( pray for him even if it's not your thing or you dont believe in "GOD" or a higher power. fucking pray to your pet hampsterfor all i care, just pray for him.

  49. Damn. You know when the most bitter, hateful commenters on the net pour their hearts out for someone (an actor, no less), than he must have been an alright guy.

    By anonymous, on March 7, 2008 16:13:36

  50. Damn. You know when the most bitter, hateful commenters on the net pour their hearts out for someone (an actor, no less), than he must have been an alright guy.

    By anonymous, on March 7, 2008 16:13:36

    ---------------------------------------------

Patrick is a good man , he never was out there getting drunk doing drugs being a waste of space, he helps people so thats why like you put it the hateful commenters poured their hearts out becsuse is not fair that a good man once again is going thru hell when the whores and scumbags are in Vegas having fun worry free ,and making the most stupid ass movies like the hottie and the nottie what the fuck was that come on

By IS NOT FAIR, on March 8, 2008 19:36:18

  51. There are many different types of treatment and chemo is not always the only, or even best, choice. In fact, my brother in-law had pancreatic cancer and chose not to undergo chemo or radiation. Because of his decision he had the opportunity to take part in an aggressive, experimental program that has saved his life. He is now 6 years out and doing great. Saying no to his doctor's immediate recommendation for chemo is the best choice he ever made. Chemo is proving to be far more damaging than many of the cancers it is claimed to cure. Please folks, explore your options and get more than one opinion. Pancreatic cancer is a killer, for sure, but there are promising new treatments out there that most doctors aren't familiar with let alone recommending. Do your research. It's your life and your choice. If you have a doctor who will not offer options other than chemo, move on!! Unfortunately since Patrick has already undergone chemo he is no longer eligible for alternative treatments.

    By CeeJay, on March 8, 2008 21:56:22

  52. He might have longer to live than we think, bbc news has said that 5 weeks is a rumour, hope so, poor patrick!

  55. My G/F always made me watch "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghoast" and my dad loves thoughs movies "Red Dawn", "The wolveriens", and "road house". Its not fair that he has to go at this age. However I work at stanford and i know for a fact we have one of the best Cancer Clinics in the world! I doubt 5 Weeks is all he has. And im sure they will help him fight it to the bitter end. God Bless Patrick, and god speed
