They just pick these people out of the same bag every year, based on who the hell knows what. Plus, celebrities aren't really that good looking. Go to a high quality strip joint or a swimming suit competition and you'll see some really hot women. 99% of celebrities are all makeup and costume.

This magazine is meant for suburban, older-middle aged, empty nesters who grab it in the grocery aisle to distract them from the bon bons the are purchasing. They sit around and read about the "glamorous" people, and then they watch Wheel of Fortune. They don't read these sites, and they believe that these people are just really beautiful and "blessed."

Then they shed a little tear reading the "inspirational" articles in the back of the magazine about some woman who has cancer, but still rides horses or some shit like that.

2. Publicists and celebrities PAY for stories in the magazine. PAY to be featured. PAY to be photographed. PAY for People Mag to be at their press events.

As someone said before, those mags aren't reall "targeted" for anyone anymore. Publicists use their clients' money to buy press for their clients and Us, People, etc. take that money. The reason they covered Britney so much was because Britney was so easy and they didn't have a publicist for Britney giving them money to shut up. Mags like the Enquirer still haven't sold their souls yet, but people like Papa Joe Simpson have tried very hard to pay them off and not give negative press to his daughters.

As much as I loathe Demi Moore, I feel really sorry for her daughters--all of them are pretty fucked-up looking (though the youngest one is sort of cute, which isn't saying much), and it's not their fault. The mistake the oldest one is making is in trying to pretend she's not ugly. She should just hang back and not try so damned hard. I cringe when I see her dolling it up (she's got her mom's taste in clothes, for one thing) and looking so, SO awful. What did she do with her hair, crank up the Weed-Whacker? I've never seen anything so poorly executed on the head of a wealthy child. If it were clearly meant to be a "rebellious" Kelly Osbourne 'do, that would be one thing (though she'd still look terrible), but this is just a bad Pixie or something. How did it happen? And gluing a Southern Belle hairpiece from Rite-Aid onto the ends? No. Stop it.

Is Demi Moore paying any attention at all to these girls? Does she want them to be ugly so they don't distract the public eye from her? (I've heard of women who do this.) Could even she possibly be THAT self-centered?? You'd think at some point she would just implode from the pressure of caring so fucking much about only herself.
