• You guys who had parents who smoked around you may not have cancer YET, and I'm not wishing it on you, but don't be too sure you've dodged the bullet. Your years of breathing in their secondhand smoke have done damage. Cancer is an extremely painful and terrifying disease. Parents who smoke in front of their kids now knowing the dangers obviously don't love their kids enough to stop.

• A friend of mine smokes a pack a day and has 3 young kids. She never lets them see her smoke. I wish she would quit, but she is very secretive with her habit. She smells like smoke all the time, but I never even see her do it. It's her habit and she doesn't want to quit it yet, but at least the kids don't have to suffer from it yet.

  she could have easily left them with a nanny for her smoke break. she is setting a bad example and also showing that she loves her squares more than her kids to the one trying to grab them.
  
  people can smoke if they want but really....shouldn't do it around kids. that's why there are non smoking bans in cities all over now. it does cause cancer and people that don't want to breathe second hand smoke shouldn't have to -- and kids shouldn't be forced to. period. if you really need to smoke that badly...do it outside...it's not really that hard. smoking is a choice just like drinking or anything else so quit bitching about the limitations set forth for it or the people calling for consideration.
  
  I think people are chastising britney because she's gotten to the point where anything flies around her kids and they have to compete with her lighter for attention...and that is why they are angry.
