  1. If there is any industry left in the good ole USA that hasn't been sent to China, it is the movie industry. Too bad it doesn't really advance anything of real value in society.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 07:50:57

  2. You know who probably feels smart? Katie Holmes. Way to listen to Scientology and pass on a role reprisal in the biggest box office open ever. Scybo's are teh suck, escape Katie, ESCAPE!

  3. This is my new favorite movie---and my favorite movie before I saw it was Seven Samurai. This was pretty much a perfect movie. I didn't know studios could actually make anything good anymore.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 08:01:35

  4. heath was indescribably phenomenal. and that even sounds like an understatement.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 08:10:29

  5. who cares?...Batman=boring, all special effects and jive ass mediocrity trying to hit the demographic because money money money is all the vapid vamps care about...absolutely zero wood factor...where is the IDLYITW wood factor lately?

By Lee Cadaver, on July 21, 2008 08:17:51

  6. Ooh, look! Lee Cadaver is just *too* damned cool to like something popular because if more than seven people have seen something then "you're a fucking sellout, man! I was into that a long time ago when it was good!"

Eat balls, you hipster retard. That movie was perfect, no matter how much you want to slouch around in your skinny jeans and whine about it. Big Money Soulless Hollywood just owned your ass and you're just butthurt because you can't act all superior without looking like the pretentious douche that you are.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 09:10:09

  7. Buwahahahahahahaha!!!

9:10:09 just PWNT the motherFUCK out of EmoLee Cadaver. Excellent work.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 09:16:39

  8. People are just happy something good is in the theaters instead of more shit. I think black people are just mad that Hancock and Meet Dave are fail and the white man in the black suit owned them. Lee Cadaver is probably a black guy.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 09:20:45

  9. Heath was brilliant.

But, was I the only one that started laughing when Batman first started talking?

    By Jesa, on July 21, 2008 09:38:47

  10. 2057 LMAO! I have not seen the movie yet but people at work who have all agree that Heath was awesome.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 10:10:02

  11. "who cares?...Batman=boring"

Right on, bro! You people are all slaves to the Hollywood machine! You all need to free your minds and watch some independent film. Unless you're watched 20 different Ukranian snuff films and attended at least 10 Husker Du concerts, then you're just a sheep, dude. Just a sheep like everyone else. FIGHT THE MACHINE! I pity you people, with your Pearl Jam and your Spiderman 3, the advertising executives are totally controlling you zombies. You people...uh oh...my boss is coming back over...I need to deliver this pizza. Later poseurs.

  12. I thought the movie was pretty good, but not excellent. Heath was the best thing in this movie and even he could have been better. Batman's voice was fucking hilarious, I kept laughing at it, though it wasn't supposed to be comedic. Overall, the success of this movie only proves that hype=money, whether the movie lives up to the hype or not(and it never does!!!).

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 10:14:22

  13. Lee Cadaver, you are so edgy. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter. Please, tell me what I should like, if I wish to continue sticking it to "The Man".

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 10:16:08

  14. "the success of this movie only proves that hype=money"

Whoa whoa whoa...alright, let me get this straight. Your theory is that the greater the amount of people who are excited to see a film (i.e. "hype"), the greater the monetary proceeds generated by said film ("money")? No way, man. No fucking way. Wow, that is...fucking brilliant.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 10:22:24

  15. Why are you dissing 'Meet Dave', Jessica Alba should do more films like this, where she gets to slowly sick chocolate of a school age boy's finger.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 10:25:23

  16. Yeah. Great. Wonderful. I feel so much better now, Dad.

    By Matilda, on July 21, 2008 10:27:12

  17. lol at "butthurt"

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 10:29:52

  18. If Ledger hadn't died and blamed his drug abuse on his Joker part before he died, then this movie would have just been another Batman movie. Hype is hype, and I thought IDLYITW would know better. I'm disappointed in you, Todd.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 10:35:38

  19. "If Ledger hadn't died and blamed his drug abuse on his Joker part before he died, then this movie would have just been another Batman movie. Hype is hype, and I thought IDLYITW would know better. I'm disappointed in you, Todd."

Dude, shut up and form your own opinions for once. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Maybe people like this movie because it's actually good. I'm no Ledger fan, but you people sound hilarious at this point.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 10:40:53

  20. At least it wasn't Hancock.

By I Hate Will Smith, on July 21, 2008 10:42:52

  21. Aaron Eckhart is the hotness. I am infatuated. Christian Bale is looking like something I would mount, too, even though his voice did sound "like he was trying to pinch out last night's chili," to quote my boyfriend. Thanks for posting their pics.

    By Jessica, on July 21, 2008 11:11:00

  22. At least it wasn't Hancock.

By I Hate Will Smith, on July 21, 2008 10:42:52

    LMAO!

  23. Heath Ledger was a drug addict who needed help. He should not have blamed playing the joker on stressing him out. He was paid millions of dollars to do the role. Let someone else play the part who won't whine and complain about a role being to hard when they are getting paid an obscence amount of money.

By get over it, on July 21, 2008 11:16:50

  24. "Heath Ledger was a drug addict who needed help."

It was an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, you retard. I realize that you're the guy with all the worldly wisdom and insight that all of us peons are lacking, but you might want to do a tiny amount of fact-checking before you come stumbling in here and making a fucking mockery of yourself. The fact that he got an awesome paycheck for his last gig doesn't mean he wasn't human, you pathetic fuck.

    Also, it's "obscene."

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 11:27:07

  25. Actually there was buzz about the movie plus Heath Ledger's role before he died, but I'm sure his death did help a little.

    By manifest, on July 21, 2008 11:58:28

  26. I believe Heath's pneumonia also contributed to his overdose/death, and he probably got pneumonia from all the water/rain scenes in the movie he was on break from making (the imaginarium of doctor parnassus) when he died.

Despite that, people were saying to watch out for his performance (wasn't there a blog on here about him?) well before he died. He did kill as the Joker (no pun intended). He made the movie. He made Jack Nicholson's Joker look like a pansy. The Dark Knight was so awesome because Heath was awesome. End of story.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 12:17:21

  27. "trying to pinch out last night's chili"...THAT was a winner, Jessica. made me laugh long and hard.

re: the Katie Holmes comment...she didn't pass on it, they passed on HER. the scientolowackos would have you believe that she passed on this to do Mad Money (supposedly Tommy Girl told her it would be better for her career) but the real story is that she was not asked to do the sequel. only one from Batman Begins who was not asked back.

and if you've seen the movie, you know why. she sure as hell stunk it up.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 13:12:09

  28. Hey, um, Jessica 11:11:00, did you also tell your boyfriend about your, um, "feelings" towards Eckhart and Bale?

By Heyyy! Mount this!, on July 21, 2008 14:15:48

  29. Heath Fucking Ledger fucking RULES! The Joker is awesome!

    By Albatross, on July 21, 2008 15:03:18

  30. This time the hype was warranted--Heath Ledger really was that good. I tried to imagine my reaction to his performance if I hadn't heard all the hype, reviews, etc...I'm still sure I'd love this performance. He hit the right notes. I don't think Batman's scenes with the Joker would have been so complete had it not been for Heath bringing his A game. The script was also tight. Surprisingly, it worked because they didn't give all kinds of backstory on the characters, specifically the Joker. I think trying to anaylze this movie and rate how good it was is unnecessary. It is a great movie, period.

  31. I wanna fuck with C.Bale, the guy is amazing

    By Giovana, on July 21, 2008 16:22:44

  32. Damn good movie, the best of 2008.

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 16:46:24

  33. still laughing at "eat balls, hipster retard"...

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 18:30:24

  34. After witnessing the Joker, I suppose I could be upset that we lost a monster talent such as Heath, but WHY. He went out with a big ass bang, be proud, son!! You won't be forgotten!

    By anonymous, on July 21, 2008 19:54:46

  35. I think Flav said it best, "Don't believe the hype."

Sorry, this flick was good, but far beneath the quality of Batman Begins. Heath was good, but Oscar nomination? Please. I'm not hating. I was entertained. But all you soft-skinned wienies (read:flaccid dicks) defending this slightly above average movie as some sort of second coming really need to get out more.

BTW, I think CBale is going to friggin' rule in T:Salvation.

By Hank Hanker, on July 21, 2008 21:32:11

  36. The best thing about this movie was Maggie replacing Katie. However, unlike Katie, she wore a bra during this movie. Damn

Are you kidding me? Storytelling in all of it's forms has been central to the human condition since the beginning of humanity. Whether it's cave paintings, oral tradition, dancing, singing, theatrical, cinema, TV, books, or a variety of other mediums, most sociologists will tell you it ranks very high on the "needs" list once food, water, and shelter are met. There are a number of books devoted to the subject.
Oh, I forgot to mention this website where we all share are views and stories with each other. It's about belonging to a community and a whole lot more. Thanks Todd & Jenny!

    By gregarb, on July 22, 2008 02:07:38

  38. Oh, and more important than storytelling, Heath Ledger, or The Dark Knight, I'd do Maggie Gyllenhaal right-side-up, upside-down, inside-out, hanging from a chandolier, and standing on my head in a hammock. Oh Yeah, Baby!! Her picture's in love with me, yes, it is!

    By gregarb, on July 22, 2008 02:16:54

  39. Slaughter--if she hadn't worn a bra, they'd be down to her belly button. And this is coming from a MG fan (Hello Secretary!)

I like to watch Katie Holmes movies on mute.

    By Phil, on July 22, 2008 04:11:25

  40. I think Gary Oldman is wearing my dad's glasses from 1981. Whoever is in charge of trying to resurrect the '80's needs to be destroyed. How am I supposed to find Oldman sexy when he looks like that?

    By anonymous, on July 22, 2008 05:43:56

  41. Phil, clearly you have not watched the Begins DVD with your remote in hand. Pause, slo-mo, framexframe...Katie's tops might as well be painted on like a Sports Illustrated shoot. No bra to be found. Her beautiful teetahs are the only reason she got the role.
