Having said that, I find the pictures of Shanna coming out of the hospital weeping a bit strange. Having been in a similar situation, the last thing I would do is exit a hospital door to start crying in public. One grieves in private, not in front of a bunch of photogs. Family are rightfully emotional when a loved one is ill or injured. The ICU is a scary and intimidating place. The burns are horrific and the rehab is extensive. No matter who these people are, no one should be criticizing them for the emotions displayed or negating the pain and anguish the "celebrities" and their families are experiencing!
Not only do I have the perspective of a healthcare worker, but one of my best friends experienced 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his face, neck, torso and upper extremities. Although, he leads a normal life now (even though he still carries the scars), he says that he would never want to experience that kind of pain again and would rather die.
