  1. ...Amy Winehouse is still even getting hired. I guess we do not need anymore good-productive people in this world.

  2. Of course I was being sarcastic in my post above...

  3. all these young actors nowadays, regardless of who they are, they don't have anything compared to the legends like Paul Newman and Jack Nicholson and Sir Sean Connery and Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton and Henry Fonda and Humphrey Bogart and James Stewart and Cary Grant, etc etc

  4. Ahhh, Paul Newman...with those beautiful blue peepers, wry smile, and sardonic wit - you definitely will be missed! Here's a guy that not only was dedicated to his craft, he stayed married to the same woman for 40 years, and has donated millions to charity without the gladhanding and posturing that most celebrities engage in these days. He was hot, humanitarian, and one of the coolest mofos out there. Godspeed, dear sir, godspeed!

  5. A great actor, humanitarian & exceptional human being like Paul Newman passing on leaves a hole in society that can never be filled. RIP, Paul; you will be missed.

There's something wrong with the universe when someone like Paul Newman dies, and yet those slutty skanks pearASS hilton, kim LARDASSian, SLUTney spears & lindsay WHOREhan still breathe air...

  6. Paul Newman had both dignity & class. He also had the common touch; he was hollywood royalty, but he was as approachable as someone from your neighborhood. AND, he was a private person; he kept his family life to himself, not splayed out over the fan mags & papparazzi hangouts like this one for everyone to see. Today's attention whoring "stars" should pattern their lives like his...

  7. He was classy and I wish there were more people like him in this world.

  8. Paul Newman was a true master of the craft. No role was beyond his talents. Now we get posers like Clooney who fancy they're as gifted.

  10. Thank you guys for posting this! So refreshing after reading about Hollywood actor trainwrecks non-stop. This guy was a true Hollywood celebrity old school style, when they actually contributed to our country. RIP Paul!

  14. In a perfect world, Hollywood would emulate this great human being as a tribute to his memory. I've adored him since I was a little girl.

  15. Hottest. Grandpa. Ever. He was a class act and one-of-a-kind person who will be truly missed. :(

Uhhh, not really. He was 83.

He was great in a lot of movies but I always remember the one where he plays a Nobel prize winner in Sweden ("The Prize"). He got to fool around with Elke Sommer in it. Man, she was HOT!

  19. slapshot people, slapshot....Go buy that movie if you don't own it. Thats all I have to say. RIP Paul Newman

  21. One of the world's greatest actors.

    RIP Paul Newman

  22. Fat Man and Little Boy. GREAT movie about the Manhattan Project/first nuclear bombs, way underrated. Rent it.

(And you thought it was about Louie Anderson and Gary Coleman. Didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?)

  23. I wasn't familiar with him at all as an actor, but reading about his life since I heard of his death in the news, I am just amazed at what an extraordinary person he was. I am really inspired to make more of my life now. So he continues to inspire people even in death.

AND I just came back from my college's supermarket and they sell the dressing from his food company that gives everything to charity. I am so buying some!

He had a great sense of humor... he said if he was going to have to be a whore and put his face on the food labels, the only way he could do it was to give all the money to charity. He also said about his marriage "I have steak at home - why go out for hamburger?" and that he thought his epitaph would say "Here lies Paul Newman, who died a failure because his eyes turned brown." LOL.

RIP PAUL NEWMAN. Your life will continue to inspire people for years to come.

  24. Rest in peace Paul...and thank you.

  25. He lived a good, long life by most standards.

Not nearly enough people like him the world.

    By Hyperbole, on September 30, 2008 05:05:03

  26. Today's stars are a disgrace. Only George Clooney and Matt Damon are worthy of any respect. The rest could learn a thing or two from the lessons of Newman's life.
