When he was beginning his acting career, he refused to do interviews unless they agreed to call him "Mark Wahlberg". The more critics took him seriously, the more he took himself seriously, astronomically so. If an interviewer would call him Marky-Mark, or bring up his music career or Calvin Klein underwear ads, he'd immediately say he wasn't going to talk about that because he's an actor now and,'my name is Mark Wahlberg'. I watched these shows myself. As he more firmly established his fame as an actor, he became more relaxed about discussing it. BUT, sense of humor????? He never had one about himself. Even now, when interviewers bring up the music and underwear, he STILL can't be troubled to even Smile about it.
