By harold potter, on November 14, 2008 09:26:16

  2. I just got through re-reading the collected graphic novel last week. this has me stoked.

and the Silk Silhouette looks kinky and HOT.
Nite Owl looks a little too buff, though...

  3. All the comic book nerds are beating off right now.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 09:39:22

  4. Watchmen? Watch me wiping my ass with an owl.
    Save the trees

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 09:43:48

  5. Graphic novels are alltogether stupid is this is the probably one of the dumbest things I have seen. Can you say, "esoteric box office flop." Why even waste money on making this into a movie. I guess the Com-Con dollars are green. Anyway, it looks about as good as the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Sin City was stupid. V for Vendetta sucked. I am tired of this "edgey" antihero, CPG XF shit

    By Your Friend , on November 14, 2008 09:45:46

  6. ANOTHER comic book movie? Yawn.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 09:47:09

  7. Yeah, it's going to be a total esoteric box office flop. Just like The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, 300, and Sin City. Why does Hollywood even think they can make money off these movies?

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 09:58:44

  8. these "Superheroes" in these retarded tight stocking costumes just does not fly anymore. maybe in the 40's and 50's, but not today. now it just looks straight up CHEESY AS HELL. Keanu's Neo is about as "Superhero" as you can get visually today. LOSE THE DUMBASS COSTUMES

By Antwan Merryweather, on November 14, 2008 10:05:55

  9. Merryweather, this movie takes place in 1985 if it makes you feel any better.

    An alternate 1985. Oooh!

For those who don't want to see it, don't, but it's going to be top of the box office in less than 4 months whether you like it or not.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 10:31:47

  10. this movie=the goods.
    this book=better goods.
    todd pls marry me.

    By katie, on November 14, 2008 10:43:46

  11. an alternate 1985? is this a back to the future remake?

By fat monkey, on November 14, 2008 10:54:33

  12. The people who are harshing just don't have a clue about what this is. If they knew, they would shut up. They are sad because they:
    -go home
    -watch tv
-toss off to "gay's anatomy" "the office" and "soprano's"
-hold their cat and cry because they are too stupid to read, and therefore, lonely.

I'm sorry the trailer hurt your pee pee.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 10:55:11

  13. Some people just don't care about comic books. It doesn't mean they're sad.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 11:03:10

  14. Promise you it blows.

    By thebig28, on November 14, 2008 11:27:40

  15. Promise you it blows.

And yes I've read the comic book, which was just okay.

    By thebig28, on November 14, 2008 11:28:52

  16. I've never seen a bigger collection of dumbasses on one board. You're the same assholes that paid real money for 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' aren't you? The source material isn't just a graphic novel it's the paragon graphic novel. It set the standard. I want you to watch it crush everything when it comes out, including the Dark Knight record. It will be the biggest movie ever. There are a lot of nerds out there. Nerds with jobs, money and better taste in cinema than you astonishingly fucktarded people.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 12:26:07

  17. ^ Calm down, nerd.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 12:33:31

  18. "that looks dum" - 09:26:16

Quoted by someone called Harold Potter ...

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 12:37:09

  19. Wait a second, the blue guy splits himself in half so his GF can have a threeway? I wish my husband would do that!! Seriously, can we get someone to work on that technology ASAP?!?!?

    By Mrs. X, on November 14, 2008 13:19:58

  20. this is going to be fan-fucking-tastic. and yes, the people shitting on it clearly have no idea what the film is about. it doesn't have as large a built-in audience as iron man, so it may be a bit of a slow burn, but it will make a ton of money. i just hope they didn't change the ending. i'm not sure i trust snyder, even though everything looks great so far.

and yes, i am a massive nerd. who first read the watchmen because it was assigned in a university english class next to whitman and hemmingway. it's not the only graphic novel that intellectuals and academics have seen fit to assign for reading, either. maus, anyone? just because people are uncomfortable with the medium, because they think it's all archie comics, doesn't mean there isn't superb storytelling going on.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 13:36:15

  21. Beowulf is assigned reading for a lot of students, too. The movie still sucked even with naked cartoon Angelina Jolie.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 13:48:02

  22. Anon 13:36:15,

If you were a real fan you'd realize that it's impossible to do justice to "Watchmen" in a two hour film; you know, unless they have a two-hour zombie pirate epic in the middle of the film.

Just admit it: you're not really into comic books. You're just using it as an excuse for being a thirty year old virgin.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 14:00:49

  23. @ #19

As a guy, I can assure you, your husband most assuredly wants a 3-way, provided you are not one of the 3.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 14:40:49

  24. I'd split myself in half to please my wife so half of me could sleep sometimes. She wants to fuck all the time. She's 35 and worse than I was at 18. They're right about sexual peaks.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 14:55:33

  25. I really don't care about the movie, or the graphic novel, or how much spandex some of you posters own...I just wanted to say that trailer looked fucking awesome on my new computer.

    AWESOME.

    That is all.

    By Vigilante, on November 14, 2008 14:57:06

  26. Hollywood does it again! Down with Hollywood.

Since when is Rorschach superhuman in skills? Why is Nite Owl so buff? Why does Ozy look like a weenie? Where are "Tales of the Black Freighter"? Why does Hollywood continue to film people in spandex looking like douches (it's called mood lighting and atmosphere, look into it!)?

Zack Synder is all style over substance. 300 showed that he does not get it.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 14:57:23

  27. I just had a nerdgasam at the trailer. Yes I did.

By Green Lantern, on November 14, 2008 16:32:55

  28. The movie will make tons of money because of the effects, but the entire point of the original story will be lost. Promise!

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 16:39:22

  29. Better to split myself in half than let another dude fuck her. Like Chappelle said, I want my dick to be the only dick in that 3-some fantasy.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 16:44:33

  30. my buddy worked on this and got some behind the scenes video and it is going to be seriously AWSOME!!! and for my b-day I got some cool Watchman sh*t from the filming.

    YA!

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 16:53:45

  31. 300 movie sucked. Too much CGI. Hope Watchmen isn't like 300.

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 17:09:09

  32. I just love all the douchebag comments on here knocking the comic book movie genres. Iron Man, The Dark Knight, the Spider-man franchise...they were all big flops hungh?

Oh yeah, and if you thought V for Vendetta sucked, then you wouldn't know a great film if came all over face.

    By justin, on November 14, 2008 18:53:33

  33. he sounds too much like Batman at the end with the whole "help me....NO!" line

    By anonymous, on November 14, 2008 23:39:07

  34. Here's what annoys me about the trailer: why do they use Philip Glass's tunes "Prophecies" and "The Grid" from Koyaanisqatsi? Is the actual score for Watchmen so lame that they have to recycle the classics? It's like that Two Towers trailer where they plastered the Requiem For A Dream theme all over it. LAZY

  35. generic superhero movie no.#2356801

  36. generic superhero movie no.#2356801
    ---
I guess you haven't read the novel... it's all about deconstructing the traditional, generic superhero plot, not creating one just like all the others.

    By anonymous, on November 16, 2008 06:41:05

  37. I am sure it will be an amusing movie, but let's just drop the pretentious bullshit and call a spade a spade...it's still a fucking comic book, not a "graphic novel."

Yes, calling it a graphic novel will not make women think you are more mature, or dateable.

    By Storm, on November 16, 2008 09:01:03

  38. Batman will always be able to get it up.
