I wouldn't say it was enveloped in a cloud of mystery for years. I've been a fan since earlier this decade, but even with her work on SNL, prior to the Emmys for 30 Rock and the Palin thing, it's not like she was that big of a deal, celebrity-wise. It was more like a thing that you hear about once or twice and forget soon after.
You want to know how I got these scars? My father was a drinker and a fiend and one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn’t like that, not one bit. So, me watching he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He turns to me and he says “WHY SO SERIOUS SON?”. He comes at me with the knife “why so serious son?” Sticks the blade in my mouth lets put a smile on that face and….. why so serious.
I read a while ago that she had abusive parents or maybe mostly abusive father, the scar was a result from her fathers drunken rage, that's why it was as painful as it was, and now for her parents to hear it.
