  1. She's an ugly Audrey Hepburn. And that ain't saying much.

  2. why not complain that Obama wasn't even born in this country and shouldn't even be president?

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 04:19:56

  3. I just don't get these people. It's pretty sad when Rick Warren is being torn apart. Geez.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 04:20:47

  4. you know, i totally agree with her. rick warren is a pile of crap. he likens gays to pedophilia, incest and bestiality.

this really was a poor choice by obama to pick him. i mean, he is a minority himslf being a black man, so it'd be great if he could be sensitive to other minorites and support them as well.

i voted for obama and i have really high hopes for him. but my biggest wish is that now that we have let go of the stigma of voting a black man in, we can also let go of the taboo of gays.

all men are created equal, are they not?

By straight lady in support of gays, on January 13, 2009 04:22:43

  5. Amen, straight lady in support of gays. Why is it that it is considered "tearing Rick Warren apart" when people state that they don't feel his views are inclusive of all America and don't want to support a man who has such obvious contempt for a minority segment of the population?

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 04:35:02

  6. #5 - sorry to break it to you, but the gay lifestyle isn't accepted by as many people as you think. Look what happened with Prop 8. If the gays and gay rights supporters think the blacks and hispanics are going to return the favor for helping vote in Obama, good luck with all that. There's a reason why Obama picked Rick Warren.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 04:43:22

  7. I think the point is that - in real life - you sometimes come across people you disagree with, but that doesn't mean you throw a fit and 'protest'. We live in a free country. Everyone, including Rick Warren and this chick, has a right to their opinion. But it cuts both ways. He has a right to be at the inauguration. And she has a right not to like it.

But no one has the right to not be offended. And no one has the right to have everyone else agree with them on everything, 24/7.

Too often with 'celebrities', that's what they expect - instant and complete agreement, or we have to listen to their inane opinions. No one is holding a gun to her head and making her attend the inauguration.

Is Rick Warren an idiot? Yeah. Do I support gay rights? Yeah. But again, it's a free country and that means you occasionally run into people with different opinions.

  8. it's the fact that he is a minister that pisses me off.

We used to have a constitutional seperation of church and state.

and you jesus crispies have to show me ONE shred of evidence before you respond

  9. she can turn her back on me..and back dat thang up! yo!

By smallie biggs, on January 13, 2009 04:55:22

  10. You're being a hypocrite. She's protesting fairly quietly instead of obnoxiously and if she'd made a bigger deal out of it you'd be saying her status as an actor doesn't give her the right to get on a soapbox and shout her personal and political opinions. She stated her opinion to people who are always digging to find out what it is. Get over it.

  11. I'm with Anne on this one. Shame on you though.

  16. I find it absurd that people, especially celebrities, inject themselves in such matters. As an American citizen Ann Hathaway has a right to her beliefs, has a right to express them and has a right to disagree with Rick Warren and him speaking at the inauguration.

However, people must remember the context. Rick Warren will be giving the PRAYER. Prayers are generally given by religious leaders and Warren is a one of the most well-known, widely read Christian leaders in America. However, he doesn't support redefining marriage in support of gay unions, but as seen in California (one of the most liberal states in the nation) roughly half of the population doesn't support gay marriage and Rick Warren represents these people. If someone else were chosen to give the invocation, someone who does support gay marriage, then roughly 50% of the population would disagree with that person. Sadly, it will be impossible to choose someone whom 100% of the electorate agrees with. Just because you disagree with someone doesn't make them an "idiot" or a "pile of crap," it simply means that they hold opposing views, regardless of whether or not you think those views are right. Isn't it great that we live in a country where people are free to express those discordant views without fear of repercussion?

By Foggy Bottom girl, on January 13, 2009 05:26:47

  17. Rick Warren is by far the highest profile conservative Christian leader who has reached out to Muslims to find common ground. That's why Obama picked him. In the slightly more serious world outside of "entertainment" the Muslim outreach has been much more controversial than any of his comments about homosexuality (which were pretty standard stuff for evangelicals). After Bush's disaster, it's a good idea to tell people that we're not going to try to refight the Crusades anymore.

  18. Transition to full trannie-clown-hooker almost complete...

    By BarbadoSlim, on January 13, 2009 05:32:47

  19. OK, shes 26 and stupid. She is not funny and must be a JEW because how else did she get work or invited to anything. Todd I like you but the argument about "No Guns in This House" is rediculas. The fact is the REDCoats are not coming any more. If you anyone is caught with a gun they should do 2 years min. in state prison. Than nobody would have a gun and you would be safe you little fairy. Maybe you should than learn how to fight if that is why you need a gun in the first place. Let another child get caught in cross fire because we need to keep our guns! It happens every single day.

    By markeeoo, on January 13, 2009 05:33:54

  20. I like Anne, but I think she is wrong on this.. The majority of the people in the country don't agree with her, as evidenced by polls and even by passages of anti-gay marriage laws. Heck, even California, the last bastion of gayness, passed the law barring the gay marriage.

Some folks whine about separation of church and state, but show me in the 1st Amendment where it says that. You are being lemmings regarding a letter Jefferson wrote, NOT the actual verbiage in the Constituion.

It states Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof....

Last I checked, no one is making Christianity the defacto religion by asking him to speak. In fact, by saying Rick cannot speak, you are effectively, trying to "prohibit the free exercise thereof"

If a Muslim wins the presidency, then he's obviously free to get a cleric to pray.. however, I think that is farther away than Bushy getting the law changed to be able to run for a 3rd time and actually winning.

  21. Actually, whoever wrote this should shut up. Rick Warren is a hatemonger and at one point said that gays and lesbians are not allowed in his church. Now, how about if we start banning this (anonymous) writer for being a bigot? What if Rick Warren said that he didn't want black people or Asians or white people in his church? Would the writer still be supporting him?

By Your Dad, on January 13, 2009 05:38:31

  22. Anne Hatheway has a gorgeous rack.

  24. #19 - So when a crack head breaks into my house and attacks Todd's family he should just challenge them to a boxing match outside, right? Please. Whether you want to believe it or not, their are millions of responsible gun owners. But just like every other knee-jerk liberal you want to ban guns because the animals on the street you want to protect are murdering kids.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 05:53:37

  25. perhaps, #2, she's not complaining about that because Obama WAS born in the US?

still beating that dead horse, huh? maybe you should go to Israel and be a "reporter" like Joe the (unlicensed and not really a) plumber.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 05:53:42

  26. yes, #24, there are millions of responsible gun owners.

however, there are just as many idiots who are statistically more likely to shoot themselves than they are an intruder. you know people who own guns are several times more likely to die from a gunshot wound than those who don't own a gun?

before you start crying and calling me a "knee-jerk liberal", please understand that I'm all for RESPONSIBLE gun ownership. if you want to own a gun, that's your right, but take some damn gun safety courses.

the biggest problem is not the responsible, LEGAL owners, but the scum gun dealers that don't police themselves and allow their guns to be "lost" and sold on the street. second to them are the knucklehead, macho people who think owning a gun makes them "tough", and don't bother learning about their weapon.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 06:21:21

  27. ANNE shut the hell up and put your face down and ass up you know you LOVE that position because you said it in some magazine so you and your brother like it in the ass very nice

By Anne ride that dildo , on January 13, 2009 06:30:57

  28. #26 - I'm #24, so II don't know why you're arguing with me. I agree with everything you just said. My comment was for markeeoo who said anybody caught with a gun "they should do 2 years min. in state prison". That is a knee-jerk liberal reaction. Strict gun laws and safety courses should be mandatory if you purchase a gun. banning guns altogether is Communist and was an effective tactic of the Nazis.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 06:36:17

  29. In a somewhat related story apparently Anne's ex-boyfriend call her from prison and all she said to him was, "My brother gets dick shoved up his ass all the time and he doesn't call me and complain - so toughen up!"

  32. anne you bitch, grow up and understand nobody cares whether or not you like gays or whatever. there are more important things to think about...LIKE OBAMA BEING EFFING PRESIDENT!!! hello?!?!? huge moment in history...talk about that please other than that shut your trap.

"go to Israel and be a "reporter" like Joe the (unlicensed and not really a) plumber."

what are you jealous the he will make more money then you .. probably yes spit it out come on now you ARE!!! I can see this is a bitter issue for you..well i guess you'll have to deal

and BY the way the born in the states or not is a VERY big deal. If it goes against OUR constitution Hellooooo

    By Jane, on January 13, 2009 06:59:52

  34. "i mean, he is a minority himslf being a black man, so it'd be great if he could be sensitive to other minorites and support them as well."

I hate when people throw this into the Prop 8 debate. It's condescending to black people, and to other racial minorities too. They don't owe the gays anything. It's maddening. When the government gave full rights to black people, it was not a fucking favor that needs to be repaid.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 07:09:40

  35. to #24/#28...

just presenting the whole picture, which you did not. re: the crackhead breaking in and attacking your family (or Todd's family)...it's more likely that the victim, if a gun-owner, will shoot him or herself rather than the crack head.

glad to know you agree with what I said, but your post didn't come off that way.

    cheers.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 07:12:31

  36. #20- it's not that the majority of californians don't support gays, the plain hard truth is that alot of the 51% were brainwashed!
the whole yes on 8 campaign carried on about kids being taught about gay marriage when in reality, straight marriage isn't taught even now.
the majority that voted yes were lied to and scared into making a decision that really had nothing to do with them.
if you ask over half of the yes on 8-ers, they are friends or family of, in support otherwise of, don't really care what they do, and open minded to gays.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 07:17:45

    By Bush, on January 13, 2009 07:58:58

  40. oh, dear...

to Jane #33...I seriously hope you're joking.

Jealous? gee, what an original thing to say. no, jane, I'm not jealous. I've never wanted to go to Israel and report on wars. how does calling a person out for his lies translate to me being jealous of his job?

(oh, and it's THAN...though I'm not surprised that someone who defends this hack wouldn't know the difference between "then" and "than".)

re: where Obama was born. "Hellooooo"...try reading for comprehension. I never said it wasn't a big deal, just that it's been proven OVER AND OVER again that he was born in the US. You DO know that Hawaii became a state years ago, right?

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 08:11:08

  41. Everyone one is intitled to thier opinion, even Rick Warren. And Obama can pick whoever he damn well please. So shove it up your a** Hathaway. You make your money from people with all kinds of different views, you should be more respectful of that.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 08:15:28

  42. Obama published a photocopy of what he says is his birth certificate and many experts have said is a fake. He's never shown anyone the actual copy of his birth certificate and never proven he's a U.S. citizen. Most reports put his birth place outside the U.S.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 09:15:20

  44. #20..

well then your state is full of dumbasses.. just like the Obama voters who when told McCain policies as Obama's agreed with them.. Or the Obama supporters who were asked what they thought of Obama picking Palin as his running mate and they agreed with it.

you are right.. lotsa idiots over there...

    By Joe, on January 13, 2009 09:26:29

  45. When did being gay automaticly make you a minority? SO now as a 4'11 sized person I would like to be characetrized as moniortiy and go after stores for placing objects on shelves that are to high for me to reach. I Shall fight for my rights!!

    I give you...

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthcertificate.asp

    and

    http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html

even Fox News eventually reported it (grudgingly, I'll bet) as authentic.

    but I'm curious...

what "experts" do you speak of?

and what "reports" do you refer to?

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 10:24:10

  47. Rick Warren is a homophobic bigot, and should not be given the national stage. I think Anne has a right to express her opinion, just as all Americans do. Warren is a disgrace.

    By Albatross, on January 13, 2009 10:27:33

  48. being gay makes you a minority because the MAJORITY of us citizens (and worldwide, for that matter) are straight.

    duh.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 10:47:00

  49. Dr. Chiyome Fukino is the only source for Snopes and FactCheck and Fukino's quotes on FactCheck sound defensive:

Paraphrasing - "OMG why are you questioning me about this when there are bigger things like the economy and the end of the world to worry about?" Fukino is attacking the people who are asking and is too defensive, like Obama is a friend.

  51. Maybe you should become Charlton Heston's successor.
Only because you all have guns in your houses all those kids think it's cool to run into school or college with one and try shooting everyone. Not to mention all the other "husband shoots wife news". Every wonder why it only happens over there?
Oh and.. If any of your companies had built a car like the Prius, maybe Detroit wouldn't be a ghost city now and Chrysler, Ford and GM wouldn't be going bancrupt having to fire half their employees... But shit.. the Hummer is such a cool car...
Thought you all must have woken up by now...

    --------------------------------------------------
Yeah kinda like how you liberals think all the conservatives think legalizing gay marriage will end up allowing people to have sex with their dogs and marry their kids.

    By anonymous, on January 13, 2009 14:27:36

  53. at Todd and # 24 and all you gun lovers!
so what of the crak head breaks into Todd's house.. doesn't have a gun but finds Todd's and then shoots everyone?
Why don't you for ONCE and only for ONCE try and see what is going outside of the borders of the US? Is it allowed to own guns anywhere in Europe? NO! China? NO! India? NO! Oh look at me and I am still alive. The point is it is more dangerous to be in the US where all the guns are because you never know what freaking lunatic might decide he wants to use daddy's gun to shoot you.
Markeeoo is right. No guns no stupid, worthless shootings and killings all the time.
The rest of the world proves it.. but I know you don't care.
When in the US, I was asked if Hitler was still in charge, if we had lions in Europe, or cars or electricity! What more is there to say...
Oh and don't hate now. It may not sound like it but the US are a great country. Just self-centered at times...

People should REALLY get all the facts before voting and not just vote for the person their favorite celebrity supports.
