Maybe because Nancy Cartwright has been doing the voice of Bart Simpson for so long, she actually speaks like that in real life now. I mean, she's a Scientologist, so we know she's batshit crazy, which would make using her "Bart" voice in everyday life a relatively sane thing by comparison.

Just the fact that the "$" was thrown into spelling of Scientology is enough to make me laugh out loud and not even read what this post is about. Oh wait, it's about scientology, I forgot for a second that I don't give a fuck.
Legally she doesn't own the character Bart Simpson, so I'd say she's gonna be handed her ass for this. The fact is they didn't think this would get outside of Scientology. Opps! lol
#10 is correct, and not only that, the voice actors are contractually (legally) forbidden from appearing in public, using the character voices. They are allowed to use the voices, as the characters, in animated ads--"Butterfingers", for example--so it's possible the Co$ saw this as some sort of loophole for Cartwright to advertise $cientology as Bart, voice-over only.
She may be contractually allowed to pull that off, but I have a feeling it didn't sit well with Groening and friends. As far as being afraid to have Co$ on his case, Groening is extremely wealthy, and he's hardly the only part of the equation. The producers and FOX have deep pockets too, and plenty to be pissed off about. In fact, Groening is probably lying by the ocean sipping an umbrella drink in his Hawaiian shirt, telling the maid that FOX should call back later, or just take care of it and stop pestering him so much. Jesus, he already drew the cartoons in 1988 and got paid a jillion dollars, what do they want, blood?? (Luckiest. man. in. the. world.)
Co$ is notorious for ignoring things like "laws" in pursuit of its agenda, and I'm guessing that since their organization is in such ruins these days, they have resorted to this move now instead of pouncing on it 20 years ago when they were far more powerful. The risks they are taking now, the utter hubris of the more recent antics by Cruise in particular, are so desperate and stupid that they suggest the people at the top are just completely psychotic. (Tell your favorite $cientologist he or she is "psychotic" or needs psychiatric care, just for laughs. They'll have a meltdown right there in front of you. You might as well pants them at Yankee Stadium, it humiliates them so much.)
