  18. Jumping to conclusions....just because she is no longer on life support does not mean that she has passed.

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 13:18:51

  19. That sucks.

    Anyone want a cold Stella?

  20. We never know when our time is and this tells us again to get right with God and our fellow man. She was a good actress and probably a better person.

  21. MSNBC=ObamaMedia is always wrong and biased, their ratings prove it.
    Anyways, very sad.
She was hilarious in Maid in Manhattan playing a socialite.

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 13:34:17

  22. I noticed they rushed her to an "American -Hospital" immedidately.

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 13:36:55

  23. No it's not. It says R.I.P. "R.I.P." doesn't mean "she's dead". It just means "Rest in peace". Just because it's typically used after someone's died doesn't mean it can't be used when someone's been taken off life support. The phrase still applies, doesn't it? You can't say "Rest in peace" after taking someone off life support? They're still resting, whether it's before or after they've expired.

    By sva1994, on March 18, 2009 13:44:30

  24. IDLYITW is just scooping all the major news sources like ummm tmz,new youk times, national enquirer.Noone really cares.People die everyday

By god yes god, on March 18, 2009 13:48:44

  25. She was dead the second they discovered she was brain dead. When she takes her last breath is irrelevant.

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 13:54:36

  26. Geniuses, she was on life support but was braindead. You cannot come back from that. Taking a braindead person off life support is the same as saying that she is dead. Take a bio class or something, jeez.

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 13:57:57

  27. taken off life support=/=dead yet.

  31. Well, as there seems to be some conflict as to what is happening with her, it doesn't sound good either way, I feel horrible for her and her family. Wish them all the best.

  35. Poor woman...And yet Chris Brown walks the earth unabated..No one said life was fair I guess.

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 14:57:59

  36. "taken off life support=/=dead yet.

No one said it was. The point was that saying "rest in peace" is hardly inappropriate to someone from whom life support has been removed. There's no reason why "rest in peace" cannot be said to someone in that situation.

    By sva1994, on March 18, 2009 15:01:56

  37. What a waste. RIP. What a horrible way to go.

When I die I hope it will be either fighting (and taking with me as many as possible) or fucking.
OR, old old age and in good health and ready to die.

I'm totally shocked. DAMMIT! Crap like this should NOT happen to good people. She was a very sweet woman, and a really classy lady. My heart and condolences go out to Liam & their family. RIP, Natasha; you will be missed...

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 15:14:27

  40. @ 32:

which comes to say - enjoy life when you CAN!!!
it could be over in a second.

I think Death is more horrible for the living. when you are dead you don't know about it, right?! :))

    RIP. she'll be so missed.

By babsee in asheville, on March 18, 2009 15:36:17

  43. It's definitely bullshit that Hollywood's spoiled and ungrateful assholes get the privilege of living while people like this are suddenly removed. She reminds me of Princess Diana, based on looks and the things I'm hearing about her personality. That being said, Liam Neeson has also been a long standing celebrity crush of mine, though.... call me, Liam!

  45. Why couldn't it have been John Mayer who slammed into that tree?

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 16:49:58

  46. I don't understand what happened. Did she fall and hit her head or did she run in to something? None of the reports say anything about the actual accident. What makes it MORE shocking is that it was on a beginner slope WITH an instructor present . What happened?????

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 16:56:11

  47. #33 how about leave the jokes to the funny people.

    By BukkNekkid , on March 18, 2009 19:01:07

  49. First, this is very unfortunate. Prayers and condolences to her loved ones.

Second, I had an accident on my first skiing trip, right after I finished my lesson. I said "I can do this bunnyslope" and ended up loosing control and running my skis into a snowboarder's back. He had to be taken down by the medical team on a stretcher. I don't know what ever happened to him, my dad got me out of the situation real quick.

Skiing is crazy dangerous. My mom had to have surgery on her leg after a ski crash. My boyfriend's friend died while skiing backcountry and he set off an avalanche.

    Be careful out there, kids!

  53. god bless her my uncle just died of a similar accident.
I love her in the Parent Trap, she was my childhood.

    By Em, on March 18, 2009 19:55:48

  54. #38: The overwhelming amount of empirical evidence that we have shows that once a significant number of neurons die, your brain doesn't recover. Biology IS empiricism. The real Hume would be ashamed of you.

In any case, this is terrible news. I am very sorry for Natasha who, like her husband, seemed like a genuinely good person. I hope the family can pull together and get through this, and I wish them the best.

Remember kids: Concussions are very serious, if you thump your head hard, go to the doctor and make sure you're alright.

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 21:48:54

  55. This is so sad.

My heart goes out to Liam Neeson and family.

    By anonymous, on March 18, 2009 23:53:07

  56. another dumb person who decides..oh my I might look funny with a helmet on and somehow I might end up on IDLYITW looking stupid so I'll pass on wearing a helmet this time.Even though it was offered by the instructors.People die in worse ways than this, where is all your miss placed sympathies for them???Hopefully she donates some of her organs so some good will come of it..somehow I doubt it

By look mommy im dead, on March 19, 2009 01:16:54

  57. I am a master of empirical biology and your both wrong,When substituting empirical with mastoidial chemestry you must also factor in the lack of medicinal trions available for reciprication of said neurons so it cant happen as you describe.I clearly saw in the movie halloween michael myers come back to life and function quite well.

By doc bones, on March 19, 2009 01:30:47

  58. I just saw her in Maid in Manhattan....sorry, I don't have cable. What a great couple; I'm so sorry for Liam and their sons, and their whole family.

    By anonymous, on March 19, 2009 02:56:15

  59. #56 have you ever even been skiing?
no one wears a helmet unless they're pulling their little kid on skis with them.
of course other people have died in worse ways, should we ignore her and grieve over holocaust victims?
you're a fucking moron. please go quietly remove yourself from this earth. you're wasting valuable oxygen that the rest of us could be using.

    By anonymous, on March 19, 2009 03:45:28

  60. the instructors offered her a helmet and she declined asshat. If she had worn a helmet she would be alive shoving crabcakes down her mouth before going to have her nails done on rodeo drive right now..need I say more ..moron

By look mother im dead, on March 19, 2009 04:13:51

  61. you're right, i am a moron. because EVERYONE that is offered a helmet always wears one.
i've been skiing dozens of times, 1 out of every 100 people you see wears a helmet.
i'm not wasting anymore time arguing with someone that has the IQ of the chair i'm sitting in.
Please go play in traffic, blindfolded

    By anonymous, on March 19, 2009 05:15:07

  62. I feel sorry for the chair. How many people die in sking accidents?maybe 1 in 100,000.Please do us a favor,,never think of wearing a helmet and maybe take up skydiving without a parachute

By johnny cab, on March 19, 2009 05:55:11

  63. To all the "experts" out there.....most neurologists will tell you that wearing a helmut does not necessarily protect one from brain injury. Our bodies are fragile and we can pad and protect them all we want, but sometimes it just doesn't help.

    By anonymous, on March 19, 2009 07:22:34

  64. tell that to all the football players and motorcycles riders.I doubt most neurologists would say dont bother to wear a helmet, other than to help morons who belive that crap hurt themselves thus helping the doctors make the car payments on the new jag they brought.

By dr cyclops, on March 19, 2009 07:53:07
