    Here in Australia the age of consent is 16. When I got my first serious boyfriend (when I was nearly 17) my Dad sat me down and said that he would prefer it if I waited a little longer before having sex, but that if I was going to start, he would take me to the doctor and and get me on the contraceptive pill (he didn't trust teenage boys to always use condoms). As I was permanently horny, I went to the Dr.
    
    My mum got pregnant with my older sister at 16, and she and my dad were forced to get married. My mum left when I was five, so my dad had to raise three kids on his own. Thankfully he didn't have that head-in-the-sand attitude to teenage sex that so many parents do.
