Stop calling Scientology a religion. They don't believe in any specific god other than perhaps L. Ron Hubbard. It is a self-help cult that rips off vulnerable people. They only call themselves a religion because of the tax breaks and protection they get.
And yes, people have been known to grow up in Scientology and then leave, not all, but some. It is hard when you have been brainwashed to live a certain way since birth to escape but if you're strong willed enough and willing to accept the fact that you probably wont see a lot of your family members and friends ever again, then you can leave the faith and move on. But, wer're only humans, let's count ourselves lucky for not being born into such things as organised and pervasive religions or groups etc...
