  2. I got hard when "The Bear Jew" opened fire with a submachine gun into a crowd of Nazis who are desperately trying to escape a burning building.

    Amazing film.

  3. It's his PR department that makes the movies you want to see. They inundate you with this fear that, if you don't see, and absolutely LOVE, this movie, you'll be such an outcast leper no one will talk to you for months.

Is QT a genius? Sure... if you haven't seen the movies he's constantly rip- ahem, paying Homage to or all of the musical cues ripped from other films. His true talent may be sticking his finger up his ass and convincing you that that's EXACTLY what roses smell like.

  6. #3

You hit the nail on the head.

The review in the Toronto Star was bluntly critical and negative, and the film still received 3.5 out of 4 stars. Puuuuure hype....

  7. I like the preemptive strike on 'the stoopid brainy smarty' folks who enjoy movies you don't understand. Really makes you look open minded and not at all self conscious that people might be smart enough to enjoy art on a deeper level than you do.

By the way, I love Tarantino. I'm just sick of the anti intellectual pride spreading across this planet like a virus. You might also want to remember that, 'Makes ____ people want to see/hear' rule next time you're making wisecracks about Britney Spears, the Jonas brothers or any other talentless douche ... woops, can't call them talentless, they make things people want and as we all know popularity is always the best indicator of talent.

  8. I went to see this with my brother and friend, and we absolutely hated it. I have the feeling we weren't alone either, I've never seen a theater empty out as fast as that one did.

  11. The idea that 65 million world wide is a kickass opening is humorous.
