  3. Too many people are dying of this disease. Cancer should be treated as the epidemic it is because too many people are dying too young from this disease. R.I.P dude.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 14:30:38

  4. This is sad. I'm not ashamed to say that I cried when I read the news. Not only from sadness, but anger because this disease has taken another talented person from us. And anger due to the fact that the Hiltons, Lohans, and Kardashians of the world will live to see 100.

    By JJM, on September 14, 2009 14:30:45

  5. He's filming Ghost II. I mean, I'm all about "getting in character" but this is impressive dedication to his craft.

  13. I am so sad. He was iconic. I suppose he didn't go on DWTS because he was too sick..He WOULD HAVE shown them how it's done. RIP

  15. Nothing Gold Can Stay

    Nature's first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf's a flower;
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf.
    So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
    Nothing gold can stay.

    --Robert Frost (In The Outsiders)

So many men can only dream of being half the man you were on this Earth. Sleep in peace, sweet prince.

Condolences to his wife and family.

  17. Fuck man, fuck cancer.

    By zippo69, on September 14, 2009 15:24:16

  18. This sucks. This sucks HARD. RIP my man. You know, cancer is a goddamn EPIDEMIC that should be tackled by some of those trillions we're currently flushing down the toilets labeled Iraq and Afghanistan. Yeah that's right I WENT THERE.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 15:31:52

  19. This is third celebrity death I've heard about via facebook in as many months. I'm pissed.

    By Todd's BM, on September 14, 2009 15:32:13

  20. He ripped his fucking throat out.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 15:34:11

  21. Nice tribute of that scene of him in Red Dawn! I just about cried looking at it. I love that movie. Shit! We losing some quality entertainers since Paul Newman passed away, & all we getting are a bunch of so-called "celebrites" who can't sing, write, act, just doing nothings that do nothing but do a sex tape, reality show, do a pussy or tit shot, JUST BEING FAMOUS FOR ABSOLUTLY DOING JACK SHIT! I don't have to say who are, we all know them by heart! This is going to be a very shitty century. Man! This sucks so bad. My heart goes to his family. RIP, Patrick. You were a credit to your craft & was a good person. To the pretenders out there. FUCK U BIG TIME!

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 15:38:51

  22. Quality Hollywood personality. Patrick seemed genuine and likeable.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 15:41:05

  23. I don't know why his death is hurting me so deep. I just feel like he was the type of actor you could go out have a beer with & don't feel like he was into the celebrity crowd, just a regular joe doing his job like everybody else does. Gonna miss him. Peace to ya, brotha!

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 15:51:26

  24. RIP to a man who fought bravely without whimpering. Married to the same woman for 34 years. A real class act and a REAL man.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 16:14:00

  25. RIP Dalton. You were one of the very few celebrities that didn't manage to get on my nerves.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 16:28:10

  26. What 24 said.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 16:29:25

  27. kanye's a useless fuckstick, britney's a barely functional tard, and i don't think anyone's actually started caring about katy perry yet, but swayze... damn. just damn. i never cared much for his movies, but he fought his cancer like a man, without boo-hooing on tv every five seconds, and married to the same woman for longer than i've been breathing. got to respect that. RIP

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 16:33:43

  28. :( Very sad news. He was a great actor and seemed like a great person. We haven't seen him for a while, but everyone still knows him and respects his work. RIP.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 17:04:16

  29. I liked him a lot, sad news indeed :(

    By OMGSTFU, on September 14, 2009 17:07:05

  30. Hey IDLYITW, you never gave a shit about hurting celebrities before, why you goin' so easy on the (literal) 'Ghost' man now?? I want crude, sarcastic bullshit from you, like when you pictured 'the lunger' walking out of a tobacco store. Do I have to mail you ANOTHER dozen mutilated puppies to bring your IDGAS attitude back to this oh-so-pithy site?? At LEAST show pics of the dead muthafucka's wife's TITS, I know you got 'em... wussies

    By 2obvious4u2guess, on September 14, 2009 17:32:28

  31. RIP, Swayzeman. It's especially sad because he kept his shit private, he worked hard for so long, and was married to the same one woman for three decades. What's more he fought his cancer battle with dignity and strength rather than wahwahing all over the place.

Hopefully he's got a nice chair on a cloud now. Why couldn't that disease have struck down a Lohan or a Spears instead?

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 17:56:41

  32. This is really sad because of what a great person he apparently was. According to his co-stars, he was very genuine; what you saw is what you got. And, he had the common touch; he could have been a millionaire or a construction worker; he acted the same & he didn't pretend to be better than anyone. This is totally unique in an industry filled with stupid braindead dumbasses like kanye, SLUTney, WHOREhan & others. He will be genuinely missed.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 18:00:49

  33. Hey #30 go crawl back under your rock, fucknuts

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 18:00:51

  34. The guy was a fucking stud. I'll tip a beer back for him tonight.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 18:39:17

  35. I was never a huge Swayzie fan, but certainly never wished the man ill. RIP Pat. It was good that you could be with family at the end.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 19:01:58

  36. R.I.P Patrick Swayze.

I actually loved both "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing".

    By Tizzle, on September 14, 2009 19:23:12

  37. Wasn't he supposed to die two years ago?

Or was that all to garner attention for his crappy show 'The Cleaner'??

No, I don't mind being the asshole in the room.

(I had a close cousin die, at age 17, only 18 days after being diagnosed with leukemia. I know cancer sucks, but I just can't wrap my head around someone using their illness to seem relevant to the talk shows and get the word out about their new series....sorry)

    By joejoe, on September 14, 2009 19:36:01

  38. RIP MR S.

    By BukkNekkid , on September 14, 2009 19:48:58

  39. yo patrick swayze, I know you died and all. Ima let you finish, but Michael Jackson had one of the best celebrity deaths of all time. OF ALL TIME.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 19:53:52

  40. @#30: STFU, troll.

    By anonymous, on September 14, 2009 21:34:57

  41. except for a couple douches, everyone actually cares. RIP Patrick. Thanks for being cool about it IDLYITW staff. Every now and then showing some class is a good thing.

    By Mikey, on September 14, 2009 22:09:03

  42. This is so sad :(

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 02:04:00

  43. Goodnight, dancing, ass-kicking, high school jock man.

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 03:28:51

  44. Watch-he'll only get a 3-page article in People while Michael Jackson got a whole God-damned issue devoted to him. And last time I checked, Patrick Swayze didn't have TWO, count them TWO child molestation cases against him. Or a drug problem. That man went out with class. He was taken by a crappy disease that by God a cure needs to be found for. Not an overdose (MJ, DJ AM) or gunshot to the head (Kurt Cobain) or anything selfish like that. He never bitched, he never moaned about what was happening to him. But in a couple of days he will probably be forgotten by the news media because they STILL want to report on Michael Jackson's sorry ass. I won't forget Patrick, that's for sure. So to all that will probably give me shit for saying something about MJ, I'd like to quote Swayze in "Dirty Dancing":

"Just put the pickle on the plate college boy and leave the hard work to me."

By Yeah I said it, on September 15, 2009 03:34:20

  45. Road House...worst movie ever, and i should know...I've seen it 30 times

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 04:56:44

  46. 30 and 32,go F*&K yourself.
    ----------

Everybody else,Swazye was one of the good ones.Makes some good movies and then he would STFU. Go live his lie in private.Stay married to one woman. No telling the public how to live their lives.

    By Babey, on September 15, 2009 05:36:49

  47. I cant' even find the words..I cried like a little bitch last night when I saw the news. A man that made some really timeless movies made such an impact by his passing.
    RIP. So fucking sad.

    By brandymarie824, on September 15, 2009 05:51:01

  48. Im just waiting for kanye west to pop up out of no where and take the spotlight off of Patrick to say Micheal Jackson did it better.

    R.I.P. Patrick

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 05:52:45

  49. There's nothing like losing a loved one to cancer. I loved his movie ghots and dirty dancing. He seemed like a very nice and classy man. That's soo sad he lost his fight with cancer. rip

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 06:02:54

  50. "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" R.I.P. Johnny Castle

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 06:57:50

  51. One of the best Swayedog scenes:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygiLUrJJjnM

Oh Swayedog! I totally adored him so. What was it about him that made people actually love him? I mean, for just about EVERYONE on THIS site to like him?! That's saying something.

He was in the Joffrey Ballet Co before he became an actor. Great dancer, great man.

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 07:02:44

  52. My father passed away last month from cancer--he fought it for 7 years. Fuck cancer. Fuck this country for not treating it like an epidemic.

I bet my Dad will get along fine with Patrick.

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 07:35:44

  53. RIP Patrick

    WOLVERINES!

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 09:03:58

  54. I have to say that his is the first celeb death this year that touched me. RIP, dude.

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 11:32:59

  55. Well, shit. I've never felt this way before

    By ll, on September 15, 2009 14:03:35

  56. Why couldn't it have been the entire cast of "Friends" instead?
    RIP Patrick.
You proved a man can be masculine AND a great dancer.

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 15:02:36

  57. Goddamn, I will miss you Patrick.

    Stay Gold Swayze.

    By anonymous, on September 15, 2009 18:18:46

  58. First John Wayne and now Patrick Swayze. Why is cancer being such a dick and killing only good people? Paris Hilton and the douchey cast of almost every tv show on right now are alive and well snorting cocaine like candy but Paul Newman and his likes are dead.
