  1. I'm not surprised - in the novel Bateman actually encounters Tom Cruise in an elevator, or thinks he does anyway.

  2. Ed Gein didn't say that...Edmund Kemper did.
Even if that is how it was written in the book, you'd fucking think that the person who adapted it would have made sure not to get serial killers mixed up.

  3. That was the best thing I read all week, as well as giving me my halloween costume.

  4. Never liked Tom Cruise, even when everyone else did. He always seemed fake; like he was trying too hard.

  5. Love, Love, Love the book! and the movie. One of my all time favourite reads.

  6. The book was creeptastic. The movie was ridiculously laughable. Especially Christian Bale running around in tube socks with the chain saw. STUPID. But... I have to say, he really DID get the Tom Cruise expression down PAT. Especially when telling jokes and "relating" to fellow humans.

  7. Tom Cruise can't get into Dorsia either, so I guess there really is no denying the comparison.

  8. 8. Kinda liked the movie and Bale's performance. Laughed throughout the whole thing and actually thought it was a comedy until someone told me otherwise. Good stuff!!

  9. #8 I think it was supposed to be a sort of black comedy. A satire on the shallow, pointless lives of 1980s yuppies. At least, that's how I took it.
Either way, it was a good movie but if you haven't read the book, you should. A million times more creepy than the movie.

  10. Dammit I love the book AND the movie (for different reasons)
Now I love Bale's interpretation even more. That is awesome.

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 05:22:19

  11. I love Bale a thousand times more now. And this was back when people LIKED Cruiser and before his crazy grin and soulless eyes started freaking them out. Observant guy!

I guess if you're a talented actor you might be more likely to spot when other people are faking.

  12. American Psycho is the funniest movie I've ever seen. Holy shit.

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 05:46:22

  13. Wouldn't it be ironic if Tom Cruise had auditioned for the role and didn't get it ...

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 05:47:09

  14. It's about time to remake the movie, this time keeping it true to the book. Oddly enough, and more than ever, the perfect guy for the role is Patrick Bateman.

  15. I loved Tom Cruise in the movie "Bartender"

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 06:08:51

  16. #14, do you mean Jason Bateman?

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 06:10:05

  17. this is my favorite thing that i have ever read on this site.

    By kat, on October 21, 2009 07:26:09

  18. Most of Hollywood hates Cruise and only tolerates him because his films made a lot of money. He seems really psychotic and controlling, it must be a nightmare to work with him.

  19. Watch Miles Fisher's video for his cover of "This Must Be The Place" and that becomes painfully obvious.

Not that I don't love Christian Bale or the movie.

  20. this movie just made Bale 1000x hotter i like my men alittle bit nuts!

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 09:34:52

  21. That actually makes a ton of sense. I hate Tom Cruise's big over-exaggerated fake smiles, couch-jumping, all the ridiculous attempts at displaying real human emotion. He tries to act like this lovable actor guy but deep down he thinks he's got it all figured out and everyone else is "glib".

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 09:36:41

  22. Loved the book, loved Bale in the movie, hated Mary Harron, every step of the way. She completely simplified the character of Bateman and ruined the soul of the book. It wasn't even so much that she had to leave out for the sake of the movie, but that she obviously didn't read or care about the deeper story in the book.

    Sigh.

Bale was great as Bateman. He WAS Bateman, everything that he was in the book, Bale made him in the movie.

But Harron just fucked over the soul of the story. Bew.

  23. Whatever, Tom Cruise is one of the best actors. Everybody thinks he's crazy because of his intense beliefs. What if people thought your beliefs were wrong? Tom doesnt care. He's not hurting anyone or rapping little kids (that we know of) just let him be.

  24. You like Huey Lewis and the News?

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 13:22:30

  25. @23 "He's not hurting anyone"

Actually he is, by supporting Scientology, a cult (not a religion) that brainwashes its followers and makes them all go broke by requiring that they pay thousands of dollars to advance through the ranks. Please take the monument 3 seconds necessary to Google Scientology before you try to sound like you know what you're talking about.

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 13:30:39

  26. 23, my beliefs don't demand that I pay any money at all, except for special services like weddings and funerals.

    By anonymous, on October 21, 2009 16:23:04

  27. If scientology is a religion and not a cult then how come only super rich people can join? It costs a boatload of money to belong to that, no legit religion I ever heard of charges a dime.

  28. why does this not surprise me at all? tom cruise terrifies me. ps the music they play on the jetdry ad on this page is the same stuff they play at sorellina. just saying.

    By Todd's Wifey, on October 21, 2009 21:41:49

  29. Dude, Christian Bale is the fucking man!!!

    By anonymous, on October 22, 2009 01:10:01

  30. yeah, sounds about right...

    By gigi, on October 22, 2009 04:43:29

  31. I used to hate Tom Cruise but now I tolerate him for two very important reasons. One, he got Kate to stop acting (she almost destroyed the first Batman). Second, he brought back the word glib.

    By anonymous, on October 22, 2009 04:46:18

  32. #25 Every religon is a cult.
( Cult:a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object) that even includes everything about your religion I know what im talking about.. #26 obviously your religion does demand that you pay money.
